GHOTEL hotel & living München-City3.0 out of 5.0

We booked an evening at the GHotel because of some good reviews from friends and it is very close to the Fest grounds in Munich. It also has an enclosed, secure car park. When we arrived, we were told that they had 'overbooked' and we were going to have to go to a different hotel. This hotel did not have any parking and we were forced to find a place on the street for our car! They were very apologetic, but since we had made our reservations almost a month ahead of time, i am not really sure how this was such an accident. I also found out later that this does seem to happen frequently, as other friends said it happened twice to them. It seems like a nice hotel, but you book a room at your own risk....
Subway is a half block away, but the walk to city centre isn't bad either. Safe will hold a 15 inch laptop, room has a decent amount of space & the bathroom is updated and clean. Breakfast was decent - a tad busy. Enjoyed our stay!
Stayed for 4 nights March 2017. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a safe but staff could not find the key for 212 (permanently missing). We had asked for self catering facilities when booking but there was nothing in the room on arrival so we had to call down to reception. Staff were very helpful and friendly, speaking good English, and responded quickly providing plates, cups, utensils and a kettle. Powerful shower but no extractor fan so the place steamed up a bit. Basic Shower gel/shampoo is provided. Great location the u-ban is only 2 mins (turn left out of the front door) and central station is a short walk (7/8 mins) in other direction. Centre of Munich (Marienplatz/Karlsplatz/Odeonplatz) easily reached on foot in 20/30 mins or by U ban (U ban required for BMW welt and Olympic area). You must visit the local German pub - Gasthaus Zur Festwiese - for it's authentic local food /drink (dark beer) and excellent service (3 min walk). Wifi has to be reconnected everytime you return to hotel which is frustrating. Central Munich cafes/bars etc did not seem to have guest wifi readily available, we only found one exception.
The hotel is in a good location and I had a very comfortable room. The staff was all friendly and very helpful. Close in range to the nearest U-Bahn station and the Tollwood festival grounds! Highly recommended for those on a budget. Visited in Dec 2015.
The ghOtel in Munich close to the central train station is a super choice 3star hotel offering good value for money. Spacious rooms, good bed, clean, quite, kind personnel. The breakfast was excellent with many choices of fruits and nuts for vegetarians but missing a vegetable milk for vegans.
Stayed here alone for 2 nights at the end of January 2017. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is located very close to Thereisenweiße U bahn station, and a 10 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof (central station). The value for money was great. Only problem is the pub on the same street often has several men outside of it so if I was a young woman I may feel uncomfortable with this, but they gave me no trouble at all. The rooms are fairly basic but we're very clean and had wifi, a stove, safe, tv. I would stay here again if in Munich due to the price and location.
We were able to booked a room at the last minute before the much visited Electronica Fair. The room is comfortable and serves a well assorted buffet breakfast. The hotel is located very near an underground station, two stations from the Central Station and just one transfer to go to the Exhibit area.
This hotel is tucked away down a side entrance which is a shame as this is a real find, the rooms were very pleasant and very affordable without compromising on quality, the breakfast was very varied and catered for most peoples taste and the service was very good. Parking is available under the hotel and the room was spacious, definitely recommend this little gem
The hotel is in a perfect location, so central that you can walk anywhere actually. It's just in front of a great food market, and other nice restaurants. The gay erea is also close with nice bars and cafes. The room was small but has everything including a small kitchen with espresso machine. We didn't get a room with a view but it was ok facing the inner yard. The service was ok, some guys at the front desk where more helpful then others. Beds are a bit strange with inflatable parts, but we survived. Breakfast was delicious
The hotel itself is ok... It's what I expected from a budget/lower end hotel or 3 star hotel- but the prices were higher due to demand. We didn't spend much time in the room because we went on tours and went to Oktoberfest and the room wasn't a place I would spend a lot of time. It was fine but very basic. It was clean and had all the necessities but nothing special. The price for breakfast seemed high when there are so many great little cafes close by where you can get food and coffee for much less. Beware- they are currently experiencing some noise issues due to the construction next door. If you are not an early riser you may want to consider this before you book. If we come back to Oktoberfest again I would stay here again.
