One of the most phenomenal things that happened while we transition to living in Munich was staying at the Derag Am Viktualienmarkt. It is one of the very few hotels that can be used as an address while going through the German Visa process. We lived on the 6th floor in an apartment for approximately two months. It felt like home, from the time you walked in the front door to our living space, we were well taken care of by all the staff in the Hotel. Our living space was quiet, well-lit and roomy on the top floor, with a wonderful balcony over looking the courtyard. It includes a small kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and cooktop. The room was well-maintained twice a week and the internet connection is 'SUPER'. This is definitely the place for a short-term stay, the location is the best in Munich, we had access to majority of the key tourist attractions, best restaurants and U-Bahn Stations. Derag Viktualienmarkt has one of the best bartenders in Munich, Herr Flo. Also the Tian Restaurant is connected and has a very good vegetarian cuisine. I can say it was a fabulous experience but I can also describe it as...Phenomenal!
This is a lovely little hotel in a superb location, right on the Viktualienmarkt. The room we had was beautiful, very clean and modern, and the hotel has some very quirky design features, including individually adjustable oil beds! All the staff were nice and helpful, and we particularly enjoyed chatting to the night staff, who are extremely professional and friendly.
The location of the hotel is excellent, just cross the street of the farmer's market near marien platz. You can walk to pretty much anywhere around the old town. The room we stayed sets up like a studio with plenty of space which is rare in Europe. You can adjust the hardness of the bed. The laundry and detergent are free. All these make it a very unique hotel. We like it.
location is excellent: across the street from the market and minutes away from marien platz. the staff are very friendly, professional and do their best for the guests' comfort. i stayed there twice this year and is my preferred hotel in munich. room is super clean and comfortable. no noise at all as windows are sound proof. toiletries are very good quality.
This was our first visit to Munich. And we wanted to stay near the Christmas Market. So we selected the Livinghotel. Was a super choice. We loved the room. It is excellently designed and felt really good. We had read some comments about the oil bed but found the bed to be very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and had wide choices. The staff was very courteous and very friendly. We are happy to recommend the Livinghotel to our friends and others visiting Munich and would be happy to go back for more!
With the Victuals on the doorstep, this hotel has all the main sights in the old town of Munich in walking distance. Even a walk to a Hofbräuhaus or the English Garden are easily manageable. During our stay there were a lot of Christmas markets, which are also only a short distance away.
First class service, modern but cosy clean rooms, many of them with a beautiful view over Viktualienmarkt, perfect location in the city centre, good breakfast, nice bar, all in all the perfect place to stay in Munich.
The hotel is small with compact but very fresh rooms. We had a fast and nice check in. We stayed at room 22 and had a great view over the market square. The room had stairs from the hallway and bathroom to the bed/living room. During the Saturday night we heard som noises and traffic from the road, but it wasn’t very disturbing. The area around the hotel is very nice in old town with many cosy Christmas markets, shops, restaurants and so on. I can recommend to stay at this hotel.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (after finishing a tour). It is a beautiful, quiet, comfortable and very modern hotel. The building is historic, but the interior design is very modern and sophisticated. The bed had a “sleep number” type feature and we were able to get extra pillows, which made things nice and cozy. The bath products were plentiful and nicely scented. The hotel furnished bottled water, coffee and 2 bottles of Bavarian beer per day. As my husband exclaimed “who doesn’t like free beer? Our window looked out at the famous market square and we enjoyed the Christmas markets there, during our stay. The room was immaculate and the staff were welcoming, professional and very helpful. There are many restaurants and shops in the area. The hotel has an optional breakfast (and there is a bar in the evenings) but we never used these areas, as the gourmet market (right across the street) was a major draw for us. The location is about a 5 minute walk from the Marienplatz. The setting is safe, practical, quiet and very aesthetic. We will be back in the future. This is one of our very favorite hotels.
Was on business great stay and wonderful staff most helpful were very responsive with requests, when I asked for the loan of an adaptor and ironing board it was delivered up to my room within minutes, sometimes this can take what feels like hours especially when you are short for time and need to be some on the other side of a city for a business meeting and not familiar with the transport system of Munich ! Will stay again very soon !
