Wow, what a gem right in the centre of Munich. Amazing room (Anna Next Door 1), fabulous food and wonderful staff. Location ideal for access to shops and centre of Munich / subway and trains. Would definitely stay there again.

Good location, nice place to stay close to shopping, restaurants and walkable to many attractions. Clean rooms. Quiet even though we faced the street. Good service at the restaurant. Coming from the Pacific Coast of Canada the North American home of Dim Sum we rate the food as 4 stars plus another half for the home made sauces. My husband and I stayed in a room with two single beds put together to make a king bed which was fine but could have used one king size blanket instead of two twin blankets.

We stayed for 3 nights & had a room on the 5th (teak) floor. It was wonderful. Very light & spacious with a fabulous bathroom. Breakfast was quite expensive at over €20 (exchange rate was exceptionally bad at the time) but we had it once & the choice was amazing. Loads of cold meats & cheeses, wonderful breads & a good selection of food cooked to order. The following days we just had the muesli & coffee & saved our money for lunch. Reception staff couldn't do enough for us, they even procured some crutches when I hurt my leg! A great place to stay to see the sights of the city.

We stayed here one night....really based on the closeness to Central Station. We were taking the train to Salzburg for 2 nights and then returning to Munich. Above all.............the gals at the front desk are awesome: friendly, helpful and loaded w/smiles. We, too, were able to leave luggage at the hotel for 48 hrs and when we returned it was there waiting for us! We stayed in 20 places over 52 days.....and the mattress here won the prize as the best! Wanted to take it back to Colorado with me. In addition, the shower is awesome..with a keypad outside the bathroom to adjust lighting in the shower! Did not take breakfast at the hotel.......the one negative: teeny, tiny lobby. For us....@215 euros/night.....it was a SPLURGE...and a wonderful one!

We picked this hotel because of the location and that they could do a triple room (our son joined us while we were in Munich). I made a mistake and had our reservation starting a day later than we arrived. The desk staff was very helpful in getting our special rate to apply to the extra day and they also moved things around so that we did not have to change rooms. We did have to check out and back in, but it was my mistake after all. The extra bed showed up the day we asked for it with no prompting. I ate the breakfast that included every day. The wait staff was very charming and the selections were as you would expect for a European breakfast buffet. Many nice pastries and cold cuts. They would make eggs to order, but I chose not to order any. Our room was large and modern. At first we thought is was noisy, but then we realized that one of the bathroom windows was open. Once that was closed we did not hear street noise. The bathroom as very nice and had all the required toiletries. The only knock is that the room could have been a bit cleaner. The room had a faux wood floor that showed dust. It was probably actually cleaner than our carpeted rooms, but the dust really shows on this type of floor. Also, the closet did have not a door and was visible from the bed, it seems that at this price point they could have hidden the closet. The free Wi-Fi worked well.

Good hotel, friendly staff, great location. Was able to store luggage at hotel several days before vist. Very close to train station. Would recommend because of location cleanliness, and friendly staff

The location is ideal, being 1 block from the Hauptbahnhof and walking distance, along the main pedestrian shopping street, to Marienplatz. Our room for 4 nights was well-equipped and very comfortable and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We had our first breakfast at the hotel, but then had 3 breakfasts at the Kaufhof department store restaurant across the street, where the 9 Euro 90 hot buffet is highly recommended. The 6th floor restaurant opens at 9am and has a great view over Munich.

We love the Anna and have stayed here many times when visiting Munich. The rooms are tasteful but on the small side. The staff is wonderful. I do have 2 complaints: My first complaint is that, although we had a double bed, they put 2 twin size comforters on the bed instead of one double, which makes it very difficult to sleep comfortably together. We now bring safety pins and pin them together! My second complaint is that at night, the rooms tend to be noisy. We were on the side of the pedestrian walk and over the outdoor cafe. With the window open, we heard everything! I didn't mind hearing people talking at the cafe, but the noise of the garbage truck backing up at 6:00am and other noises like that were too much for sleeping! However, the staff and the wonderful location make up for these problems.

Other reviews have focused on the great location of this hotel, a ten to twelve minute walk to Marienplatz and the center of old town, a one minute descent into the Metro System which is clean, efficient, and easy to use, and a 15 minute walk or cab ride to places like the major beer garden. Contrary to what one reviewer said, this is not some seedy, grungy neighborhood. It's totally fine, busy and safe. Most of the touring is in the Marineplatz area but very busy and nice to be 10 minutes away. As mentioned in the title, we found the staff to be very helpful and uniformly pleasant, the underground parking next door very convenient, and the breakfasts very good as well as the outside cafe for a late night drink. The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. A great value and would recommend and return without hesitation.

I was a the Anna Hotel with my husband and daughter. The room was spacious..comfortable with the extra bed. The good points: Spacious room and bathroom. I liked the location -next to stations..very convenient to travel around by subway. We also went for breakfast to the station! A mall and shops and restaurants closeby. A short walk to the pedestrain area.. Great staff..very helpful and so friendly. Felt welcome! Not so good: Construction activity resulted in noises at 4 am! quite disturbing for light sleepers. Not enough shelves/drawers...
