Mercure Nelspruit Hotel

When I travel to Nelspruit with a friend, I like to go to the Mercure because the units offer 2 rooms with a living area, a kitchen and a bathroom. We can have both our privacy. We have a safe parking and are close to the Ilanga Mall. The only drawback had always been on one hand the paying Wifi that never worked properly and on the other, the a/c equipment: curiously only one bedroom is equipped with a/c and the other bedroom and the living room units are installed just above the ground floor, as if the Mercure engineers did not know that the cold goes down and not is particularly inconvenient during the hot season when the a/c use is absolutely essential to a good night sleep. However, recently, each time we went to the Mercure, each time we were more disappointed. The overall condition of the unit was deteriorating: the second bedroom did not have any bulb in its lamps, thus there was absolutely no light in the room. The living room only had a weak ceiling lamp. The foot lamp that used to be located in the living room was gone. The bathroom sink had only the warm water faucet functioning, and yet the flow was very weak. The kitchen closets that used to be fully equipped with glasses, pots, pans, plates and cutlery were empty. A letter on the table mentioned that if we needed any equipment, we had to ask for it. We also felt that there was some carelessness with regard to the security. We were not once asked to sign in. We went and left without any control! Conditions are decreasing while prices are increasing! Far too expensive for what is being offered!

Nice place, juste in front à big mall. We stopped here one night before going through the Kruger NP. Swimming pool ok Rooms , simple but nice - look like small flat room. In front of the mall, easy for find WiFi, food, diner, breakfast. We didn’t try food at the hotel, we ate at the mall - same diner /BKF for more or less 100 R/ pers. The WiFi didn’t worked when we were staying here. Secured place with closed parking and security at the enter. Pictures : swim from the Hotel Breakfast from the mall for 65R.

Yes, the location is convenient. Staff is friendly, and the lobby area is nice. The rooms are an absolute disgrace and in dire need of renovation. Air conditioning was horrible, broken tiles in the bathroom, bad sheets, stained carpet, lights broken, no TV channels, etc. The list goes on and on. I was truly stunned that a hotel would have the gall to charge as much as it does for what amounts to a quality that you’d more likely see charge by the hour than by the night. We’ll never ever stay here again, and will warn our friends to avoid it. DUMP.

Liked this hotel - old & maybe in need of a refurb soon but very good value. Excellent access to the I'lana Mall, and very friendly staff. Would go back if I needed to stay overnight in Nelspruit again

Good hotel to spend the night or weekend when visiting Mbombela for shopping and nightlife. Conveniently next to iLanga Mall and accessible from all parts of the city. Comfortable family rooms on site. The breakfast could be better.

The a/c is pointless. Only the person lying within 3 feet of the machine can experience the cold air. The kitchenette has no pans or a toaster. The information booklet asks to call housekeeping or reception for these. I did so and was told that this service is only available at 7am . I called at 7 and housekeeping had no response. Reception said they would send a toaster. No surprise, no toaster. I called at 730 , 8 and 830. No one even answered. The rooms are disgusting. All the usual tropes : mouldy showers, stained carpets, layer of dust in cupboards.

This is located next to a mall. Very impressive building with an excellent lobby and dining area. But the rooms were in pityful condition. Electrical points were not working. many of the lamps provided were not having bulbs. The fridge was rusted and full of frost. The microwave was also not functioning. House keeping will never answer! even the "free" internet is only 500mb per room!

I had such a great stay. The location of the hotel was fabulous, right next to the mall. The staff were very friendly. The place was clean and it was cleaned each day. Parking was easy. Would definitely go back.

My family and I spent 5 nights at Mercure Nelspruit for December holidays. The family room setup made us feel at home and we loved every moment. The beds were comfortable and clean. The parking was next to our room. The pool area was clean and provided the much needed space to relax. We were also allowed to prepare our own meals and that gave us some flexibility. Mercure Nelspruit is also affordable and provide a secure environment. The hotel is perfectly located near iLanga mall for all that shopping and entrainment.

The hotel is conveniently located besides Ilanga Mall, Nelspruit's biggest commercial center. Also the ambiance of the hotel is very nice. The bar is a very agreeable place to meet friends. The breakfast in the morning is very good.
