Super 8 Hill City/Mt Rushmore/ Area

Bare bones hotel for those spending most of their visit outside of their room. Very nice location with ample parking. Pool area is well maintained. Accommodations are very basic and toiletries provided are as well. Rooms are clean but dated. Worked for what we needed, a place to sleep.

Room was great. However the pool was freezing. And continental breakfast was frozen waffles. Great if you just need a room but when I come back to Hill City would probably look into the other hotels first.

The day and afternoon staff were great, however the night man was rude, and not helpful AT ALL. That is the the only reason for such a bad review.

This small motel has a lobby decorated in taxidermied animals that are for sale at very reasonable prices. The pool is indoors and clean. The rooms are simple, but clean. Very close to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and down the road from Sturgis and Deadwood. Parking is safe, but not camera guarded. Front door is key opened, as desk is not attended overnight. Felt safe and slept well.

We stayed there on a three day bicycle tour. It fit our needs and we were very happy with it.

Room was clean. Staff friendly and informative. Received directions to local sightseeing places.

Had a problem with guests swimming after the pool was closed (our room was in the pool area). The night manager told the people they could swim an hour past closing, until11 pm. Point blank refused to kick them out even though they were loud as heck. Even lied about it and said he was helping a customer check in and would do it later. When I went up to office, the lights were off and locked up. Not happy.

Many of the motels are close for the off season. This was the only one open that also had a pool/hot tub. I was bummed they close the pool early(7pm) depicting the winter. The carpet in the room was old as is the floral bedspread, but overall the room was clean, the staff friendly & the bed was comfy! It's also located conveniently next to a gas station and food & shopping.

The best part was the location. Walking distance from all nearby restaurants & shops. There was a gas station right next to it. A Rail museum is nearby (if anyone is interested in museums). Other amenities were same as any other Super 8. Staff was helpful & suggested us which place to visit first. That saved a lot of time.

The hotel was located in a nice western - style town , close to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse National park .

It was a nice room and great people. Would go back again.

Cons: rooms a little outdated, A/C not very cool, NO PARKING close to the rooms if you get there late, along with a lot of gas station traffic in and out all the time. Ground floor is in the basement so beware. Staff was young ,lazy, tired and on the hippy side.lol Pros: close to downtown easy walking around main street. Close to all the major attractions and local restaurants. Elevator to get you to your room. Pool was great and indoors. priced a little lower then over hotels in the area.

I was shocked at how bad this hotel was for the price. It appeared we overpaid through a travel booking sight by $30- $40. While standing at the registration I heard the hotel quote a much lower price. The first room we checked into had a terrible smell. So we were put into a room across the hall, which seemed to be okay until I opened the toilet and it was obvious it had not been cleaned. It was disgusting. They did come and clean the bathroom and were very apologetic. Overall impression of this hotel is old and dirty. Go elsewhere.

The room was clean roomy and comfortable. There was a nice elevator to access the second and third floors. The indoor pool area was clean and well maintained. The hot tub was hot with good jets, but the pool felt like it was refrigerated. The location was great. We even had one day that we didn't get in our car once.

We have stayed in several hotels this week by far this was the worse for the price. The room hasn't been updated since the 1980's. The girls at checkin were friendly the gentleman at checkout was not. We do not recommend.

It's a nice place to lay your head for the night. Rates aren't bad, considering it was a holiday weekend. Clean

The hotel was perfectly located near the Black Hills hunting area. The rooms were clean. Being that we got up so early to hunt, we were unable to take advantage of the breakfast.

Stayed only one night while in town for the Crazy Horse marathon. Good location although the walls were very thin & the room next to us had a baby that got up numerous times during the night. Would have liked to see a little more variety for breakfast.

No reason to complain! The night staff was very helpful!

It was close to places we wanted to go to. It was also within walking distance to restaurants and shops. It only took us about 15 min. to get to Mt. Rushmore.
