I booked this for 2 nights online ahead of time for our Mt. Rushmore trip.It was about $100 cheaper than ALL the others! It was about one mile away from downtown but believe me it is hectic downtown. It's like Gatlingburg and we enjoyed getting away from all that at the end of the day.The gentleman at the desk was so friendly and helpful. I am VERY particular on cleanliness in a motel room and this place past my "inspection" with flying colors. Beds were nice, everything drained real nice.. It is a older hotel and could use a little updating with their bedding and towles but they were clean and fresh. You do have to be able to climb a set of stairs to second floor but not to bad.

This was the most expensive hotel on our vacation. For $150 we were very disappointed. The room was dated, old, small with a run down bed. We definitely paid for the closeness to the parks. This hotel was not within walking distance of anything. We had to drive to town for food & shops. The breakfast had a very poor selection.

For the price charged it really is location, location, this Econo would be $60 anywhere else but due to the area it was a lot more, the hotel needs some upgrades and it looks like they are at least putting new fridges in the rooms. We had a suite and the other members of our party had a standard two bed room. The suite needs some work and was old and dated. Bed was comfortable and so was the couch but it showed its age. The two bed room was probably the smallest I have ever seen for a room and bathroom. It would have been better to take out the two full size beds and add a queen or king. And again it needs some upgrading. Breakfast was the standard Econo breakfast, but again for the prices charged the breakfast should be upgraded. Very basic plus the standard waffle machine. Good location slightly out of town, very quiet but again that always depends on the other guest.

Run down hotel! Too expensive for what you get and it's not that close to Mt Rushmore! Was disappointed! The young man clerk was nice but I feel the charge was unreasonable ; find another place if you can

Manager very friendly and helpful. Loves the hot tub. Kids liked the pool. All attractions at least 20 minutes from lodge. Definitely would recommend staying here. Cleaning staff resupply towels and put clean sheets on. Very roomy and comfortable beds. Lots of little shops in town.

We stayed here for 4 nights and were pleased by how attentive the staff was. We arrived late at night with what we thought was a car trouble, it was leaking something. Drew, the guy behind the desk, assured us not to worry and called someone to check on it right away. Within 30 minutes or so we were told that it was nothing major and we're able to use the car to drive around the Black Hills area without any problems. We really appreciated that a lot. It helped us start our vacation on a positive note. The whole time we were there, Drew and the rest of his crew were very friendly and accommodating, answering any questions we had and helping us out with whatever requests we made. They really work hard to make sure their guests are happy and satisfied. Reminds us of the customer service we usually would get traveling in Southeast Asia. The place is just a few minute drive to Mt. Rushmore and other tourist destinations in the area but far enough that we got the peace and quite that we wanted. Free breakfast was adequate. Our room was a little tight but it was clean, especially the bathroom. Overall, we are very satisfied and will stay here again.

Keystone is best place to stay in Black Hills! Much quieter than Custer and less expensive than lodges in Custer State Park. Econolodge located just a bit outside town, clean with very friendly staff. Pool is too cold, hot tub too hot, but otherwise it's perfect. Very close to Rushmore, great shopping. Check out the Country Store; cheapest gas in town, cold water bottles (you'll need to stay hydrated), even Prairie Berry wines. Friendly people; ask Bill about his experiences with Sasquatch! Excellent restaurants. Try the hamburgers at BarLees. And the local trout at Ruby House. Yum!

The building is old. The floor boards squeak and creak like an old home. It was an "ok" place to sleep and shower but if your looking to spend time in your hotel room then I would not recommend it. Breakfast was good, normal items like cereal and the waffle maker. I did see some kids swimming in the pool.

This hotel is about a mile outside of Keystone so it is a little far to walk to dining and shops. Interior corridors. We had a room with 2 double beds, small table and 2 chairs, and flatscreen TV. Beds were pushed against walls and sink is in the room so space was a little tight. Clean tub/shower bathroom. Our room was on back side of hotel so we opened the window for fresh air at night. Hotel had a nice indoor pool/hot tub area with tables and chairs. Breakfast was sausage gravy biscuits, cereal, muffins, juice, etc.Ice machine did not work. I would only stay here again if they have the best price. It was fairly quiet considering it was full occupancy.

What I liked best about this Econo Lodge was the staff. It was very apparent the young man at the front desk wanted us to enjoy our stay. We appreciated that attitude after a day on the road. The room was small, but so was the price, and it was clean and everything worked. Honestly, we slept well and it was a great spot to recover in between drives. There weren't a lot of breakfast options, but there was good coffee and enough food to get us back on the road. Would I stay here again? You bet. The staff made me want to return. :)
