Clean room and wonderful welcome at the front desk. The hotel is close to attractions and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodations. I would stay here again and give other Econo Lodges a try.

For a very reasonable price, we had a small, but adequate room complete with a small fridge and microwave. The latter would have been used more, but there wasn't a convenient grocery store( in Custer there was). Breakfast was included with enough choices to last our four night stay. If you want major amenities, this may not be your choice, but I was impressed with a comfortable and clean bed, a "cushy" carpet, and a friendly and helpful proprietor. One warning about a mid to late fall visit is that many eateries and attractions are closed, but we loved the quiet pace of mid-October. We found plenty to do for three solid days including Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Devil's Tower and Belle Fourche, and even enjoyed the historic walking tour of the old buildings in Keystone.

Nearest reasonably priced accommodation to Mt Rushmore. Easy to find. Parking out front. Swimming pool enjoyable after a long drive. Room was compact but clean. Walls thin, kept awake by next door snoring the first night luckily they left so second night was peaceful. Use of microwave and fridge in room helpful. Staff all lovely. Towels might not have been the whitest however everything was clean. Hot tub not available due to water shortage.

The hotel is located a bit outside Keystone, and I chose it for two reasons: the price and the location. I wanted something near Mt. Rushmore so I wouldn't need to drive a lot after the light show, and I only spent 84$, a very low price for the area. The thing is, you get what you pay for. First of all let me point out that the owner is very kind and helpful, you always see him moving around doing something for his guests, really appreciated. Unfortunate, the hotel is very old, and you can see that in everything: towels and carpet in the room, the air filtration system in the bathroom makes some very annoying noise. Out room smelled very bad and we had to keep the windows open all the time to allow the smell to go out. Breakfast is very poor, just some bread, oatmeal, and a waffle machine. They also have very limited seating place, I saw some guests eating while standing because the tables were full. It's a shame because the owner is very kind. P.s. For Sep. 2017: the ice machine and hot tube were out of order, but that's not the hotels fault as this was a decision taken by town administrators

A mediocre two star hotel. The room and facility are old. The towels are greyish and seem dirty. Their breakfast is just ok. It is around a 10 minutes drive to Mt. Rushmore. Next time I will stay at another hotel near the downtown area.

We were here for 3 nights so we could take advantage of all this area had to offer! We asked Drew if we could use our portable grill, and he provided an area where we could make dinner and breakfast. He checked on the laundry in town for us, and he helped us fill our cooler with ice with no extra charge. This is a nice location, just slightly out of town, but parking is free and it is quiet. There is an indoor pool and a continental breakfast. We loved our first floor room. We had a mini fridge and a microwave. The grocery store was walking distance. This hotel closes in winter. We definitely recommend this hotel.

It is run down old motel - out room was OK with queen bed. We were in this area just 1 night for Mt. Rushmore. Need better maintenance. Location is good - short drive to Mt. Rushmore. We went 3 times - afternoon, night and morning before we left town. The city was running out of water from 2 wells and water from bathroom faucet was brown. Hallway ceiling hole was covered with bare wood plank, paint chipping all around. Just dingy looking. Lock to our room was installed wrong - handle had to be pulled up instead of down, like all other hotels. Front staff is friendly and came up right away to help open the door. The town was full of bikers - I did not realize it was Sturgis Rally week. The rate is tripled because of it - more than $150 for this! It is the game of demand & supply...

I was looking for an inexpensive Choice hotel so I could get a $50 gift card for a promo they were running. There was a piece of plywood covering a hole in the ceiling on the second floor which shows you how the maintenance is severely lacking. Beds were not comfortable, breakfast was very minimal with a tiny breakfast room. I was glad that we were only sleeping there on our way through.

We had a great stay. The front desk clerk, Drew (I do believe was his name) and the housekeeping staff did exceptionally during our stay. It was a little small but everything was neat and tidy. We had plentiful towels and everyone was rather friendly. Breakfast was crowded but hot. I would definitely recommend coming back. I've worked in three hotels and I've never seen such dedication. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but a clean, affordable, decently staffed establishment is difficult to find. The pool is indoors and in this town it's difficult to get 24 hour front desk help and they constantly delivered. Great for kids and couples. I never had any issues with noise or anything to that extent. I hope the staff gets payed well for all their hard work.

This is as standard as Econolodge gets in my experience. We had the presidential suite and suited needs for a family of five. The pool met the kids' needs and expectations and the hot tub was great for momma's back that had been in a car for more than 6 hours. Rooms were clean, beds were decent. Bathroom towels are tiny so this was an issue after three kids went swimming and needed towels. Breakfast was ok--hard boiled eggs were over boiled and/or old, as I think my three year old could have used them as a bouncy ball. There is a waffle maker though, so that saved breakfast. Definitely not the worst place in town and the hotel staff really care about your needs and your experience. For the price, we'd stay there again, mostly because the only reasons we need hotel is to sleep and shower, and it was adequate...we are about the adventure!
