The room was immaculately cleaned. The bathroom spotless with a large convenient vanity area.

My grandson & I loved staying in this older motel. We liked parking the car right outside the door with a 30 second walk to the pool that was housed separately. The hot tub was a big hit too. It was so enjoyable to sit in the hot tub and watch the traffic & people walking by. That was so calming. We had a second bedroom that worked perfectly for us. The room, frig & microwave were dry clean. A big plus was being able to walk all over town. I highly recommend Bakers Bakery Buffalo burger. The Purple Pie across the street has great pie & ice cream.

The hotel is an older hotel but it is clean and well kept. We liked that you could basically park right in front of the door. Pool was bigger than most hotel pools. Pretty quiet. Could use a towel holder by the sink. We would recommend and would stay again.

The rooms were very clean and the staff were extremely nice and helpful. When checking in, the gentleman at the front desk highlighted on a map areas for us to visit throughout the Black Hills National Forest as well as Custer State Park

While it is an older traditional motel, it was very clean and well maintained. The manager was friendly and helpful.

Very clean! Conveniently located. Quiet. Cable TV and wireless for relaxing at night. No complaints at all!

Our room was very clean. All appliances were working. Swimming pool was in separate building. And the water was warm, comfortable to swim. There were plenty of towels in the room to use ( for the pool too). A lot of beautiful flowers around the property. Comfortable parking.

I was greeted at my recent late-night check-in with a smile and pleasant conversation. Our room was the ONLY one left in town, and despite the opportunity to cash in on desperation, was very reasonably priced. The room was SPOTLESS. This was the last night of our 10 day vacation, and the only motel we'd stayed at which had offered us a CLEAN room. It was a bit smaller than we'd have liked, but offered everything we could have possibly needed. Every one of the staff we had contact with was genuinely warm and welcoming. We will absolutely be keeping the Chief Motel on the top of our list when we come through Custer SD again next year!!
