If you are passing by then this hotel is a reasonable place to stay for the night. The room we had was reasonable apart from the toilet and bathroom being seperate which is unhygenic as you handle two door handles after going to the toilet before getting to a sink to wash your hands. Pretty sure the UK would not allow that. It not what I expect of a mid range hotel, more a budget type quality. The breakfast was acceptable but no more with quite unhelpfull staff and the pastry selection for France quite poor.
Travelling from Annecy this hotel offered us a nice break on our long trip to Denmark. The pool was a nice welcome and the restaurant was absolutely acceptable. Very friendly staff and decent food at a fair price. Nice room with comfortable bed - but the sofa bed for children was not the best. Nice breakfast buffet. All in all a nice stop on the way.
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and the reason for so many stay is the huge hypermarket just across the road but this is the last time ever. First impression are favourable but once in everything changes we had to change room twice because of the disgusting smell that came from somewhere in the room the second room was no better. The unfortunate thing is this dirty hotel is used by coach companies as a stip over and this is not fair when you consider the cost of these tours. We would not eat anything in this hotel it is just disgusting. Please think fearfully if you are thinking of staying there.
We just planned for a short visit on our way back to Holland. Turned out to be an excellent choice. Friendly guy at the desk helped us to our rooms (clean, good beds, shower). After a good night's sleep had a great breakfast in full dining room. Staff was working hard and serving a fresh meal! - would come back anytime
Unlike other Novotel hotels I have stayed in and indeed this one 3 years ago, the experience was disappointing. The rooms are "tired" the carpets dirty and faded. The "complimentary" bottle of water was used and needed to be replaced. The restaurant is haphazard and overpriced for the style and service. The child meal arrived 10 minutes before the adult meals and had to be sent back as it was then cold which meant that the adults were then waiting with their meals getting cold. The staff were attending to other orders and didn't come to see if all was well with those they had already served.
On our national holiday week we spent two nights(inward journey, outward journey) at this hotel. The check in was pretty quick but was a bit of a trek down long corridors to get to your room. But once inside the rooms were very clean nice soft beds and pretty warm with a good telly with various language channels. The breakfast was wonderful with ample continental breakfast to choose from and some lovely smoked bacon and frankfurter style sausages, but they need to work on the scrambled egg abit lol. The staff were very pleasant and smiley which makes you feel more at ease if you can't speak the language. They couldn't offer us an evening meal as they had a wedding reception on but over the road was a hypermarket and a couple of nice restaurants(although a bit pricey) but plenty of choice. A very nice hotel.
Near to the motor way for does is travelling across Europe. If you pretend to visit Metz it is a little drive to the town. We stop on sunday , so, for resutaurants and shop options it is not the preferable place, despite the market across the hotel. But the hotel offer enough for stopover.
We stopped here on the way back to England from Italy. Unfortunately we were later than planned to book in but the staff were courteous and helpful. The room was clean and the bed sooo comfortable... Definitely what was needed after a long drive.
Although arriving late to this hotel after a long day travelling it was pleasing to see a lovely room with comfortable beds. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the gardens. Breakfast was beautiful with plenty of selections. We have stayed at Novohotels on other occasions and have never been disappointed.
We were travelling from Ijmuiden to north Italy and were delighted to be in a hotel so easily accessed from the motorway we arrived on and from the other motorway we needed to go onward. We also were grateful to refuel at the supermarket across the road. We had said in advance that one of our party had mobility problems and were put in rooms near reception. Despite the restaurant being understaffed (especially at breakfast when 1 person was manfully coping with 3 busloads of foreign non-French speaking tourists plus individual guests) the staff were helpful and friendly - and the food was fine. It was good to have free parking on the doorstep
