Novotel Metz Hauconcourt

Although arriving late to this hotel after a long day travelling it was pleasing to see a lovely room with comfortable beds. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the gardens. Breakfast was beautiful with plenty of selections. We have stayed at Novohotels on other occasions and have never been disappointed.

We were travelling from Ijmuiden to north Italy and were delighted to be in a hotel so easily accessed from the motorway we arrived on and from the other motorway we needed to go onward. We also were grateful to refuel at the supermarket across the road. We had said in advance that one of our party had mobility problems and were put in rooms near reception. Despite the restaurant being understaffed (especially at breakfast when 1 person was manfully coping with 3 busloads of foreign non-French speaking tourists plus individual guests) the staff were helpful and friendly - and the food was fine. It was good to have free parking on the doorstep

We always stay at Novotel when we travel in Europe. That's because the hotels are friendly to dogs and the standard usually is a bit higher than average. But Novotel Metz is not one of the best Novotels. The air condition in the room was weak and at the breakfast we discovered that the bread was very moldy.

Just the run of the mill Novotel, nothing bad, it nothing good, the waiting staff don't understand what a coeliac is!. More training needed. It's clean and a little tired in places, though the scooters are fun.

We stayed here as part of a long distance cycle ride.although the bicycles were allowed to stay in the luggage store behind reception, that is as friendly as it got.carrying everything in a small rucksack for the journey, our clothing was limited, having showered and changed,we waited for the restaurant to open, and were treated like itinerants and the staff appeared almost hostile to us,giving the impression that they were far too superior to serve us.the food was expensive (6 chips ) and we preferred to breakfast at the supermarket over the road.although the room was clean, they supply scooters to get along the corridors as they are so long.would not stay here again, stayed in far cheaper, better places.

Close to the highway with a great closed gate parking. Friendly service from reception to restaurant and bar. Typical Novotel-rooms but a decent restaurant with good choice of reasonably priced wines. Nice playcorner for children.

We overnighted twice, travelling from Cardiff with Edwards Coaches, to and from our holiday resort at Lake Como. During our brief stays in this clean hotel we had two evening meals, well presented and good quality but even so, quite expensive for the type of meal we ordered.

Hotel clean and staff friendly, polite, welcoming. Service in restaurant and food good both for evening dining and breakfast. Liked the idea of the scooters for guest to use on the ground floor corridor.

Total touch totally inhumane' like that they didn't care for guests. We have been staying here for few years, but missed 2 years and the difference enormous. Rooms are shuby and dirty. As we are older we have problem crawling out of bed.Faulty bed for a boy 14 years old..Dining room floor was so sticky that my shoes very sticking to the floor. Breakfast 16.50euros overpriced!

Do not understand how this is classed as a 4* hotel - more like a 3* motel in my opinion. Dated hotel & rooms (bathrooms from the 1970s) in need of a major revamp. Breakfast had - no fresh fruit, no cereals, no milk!!! They had run out! I was in the breakfast area at 7.30 - not late, so I do not understand how they can run out so fast. Not paying €17.50 for a coffee!!!
