lovely and clean, roomy rooms (even the standard ones). Masses of pillows and towels. Beds very comfy and nice large tv. Pool could do with a bit of a clean though. There were building works going on,but none that we noticed. Some parts of the hotel look a bit tired and worn.
I stayed at this hotel for one night, during a Shearings holiday to Switzerland. The room was large, with a comfortable bed and powerful shower. The breakfast was buffet style with both hot and cold food of good quality. Recommended.
Stayed here for one night with breakfast on our way to Germany. We were with a Shearing's coach tour and were perfectly happy with everything. The rooms were comfortable and had everything you would need, plus they were clean. Plenty of hot water, toiletries, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities plus a bottle of water. Modern reasonable sized rooms and quiet. The breakfast was very good and had lots of choice in a well lit area overlooking the pool and gardens. There was a large hypermarket opposite which was closed on the Sunday.
Small, old and a bit chabby rooms. Still I actually like the place. Very conveniant located, just by the highway and a big shopping mall on the other side of the road in case you think the breakfast is too expensive. This hotel got all I need for my businessas trip.
We stopped at the hotel for an overnight stay on our way from skiing holiday back to Uk. The hotel is stinky, the room and corridors smell of urine and toilets. The carpet are dirty and stained. To say that rooms are dated is generous, the furnitures was broken and at leat 40 years old. I still do not understand how they can present it as 4 stars hotel. Positives- good location next to a motorway and lots of parking space for free.
On arrival the receptionist was obviously at the end of a long hard day; the whole building was tired and scruffy, the carpets stained and the room lock temperamental. the food was OK and breakfast good.
Located on the outskirts of the city, in what seemed to be a commercial area, this is perhaps not the ideal hotel for those wishing to visit Metz and its environs, but perfectly adequate for an overnight stop. It is very close to the A4 and A31 auto routes so easy to pull in without encountering city centre traffic - and there is ample parking space. The room was clean with adequate facilities; the bar had a rather limited selection of drinks, but again sufficient for an overnight break; and breakfast kept us going until lunchtime - but then I am not a fan of the continental breakfast.
So we stopped either end of a trip, so two separate occasions. The rooms are pretty standard, no luxuries but clean and well presented. Breakfast was a reasonable buffet affair - better than I've often had in France but again, nothing outstanding. Staff were generally helpful and pleasant. Our gripe really was with the restaurant, we arrived a little after eight the first time but were unable to eat in the restaurant. On our return we arrived @ five but again could not eat in the restaurant as they had a group booking - which it turns out was not even in the restaurant but a side room!
We stayed for a stop-over on the way from Switzerland back to the UK. Definitely below average for what we’d expect from a Novotel. We stayed in a ‘superior’ room, which frankly is more of what we’d expect from an Ibis Budget (formerly Etap) in the Accor group. Fine for a motorway stop-over, but really that’s it. There are two positives though: The staff were truly excellent. We emailed beforehand to request a baby cot, and they replied almost instantly to confirm. Sure enough when we checked in the receptionist confirmed that the cot had been put in the room. We stayed on the night of Christmas Eve / Christmas Day, and even though the hotel was fully of a very noisy coach party, many of whom had clearly been drinking heavily in the bar, the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. The car park in front of the hotel is very secure, surrounded by a big fence and accessed by intercom. Definitely comfortable leaving a car-full of luggage there.
We stayed overnight en route from Switzerland to Calais. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the motoroway and provided everything we needed for our overnight stay: clean, comfortable room. Well-stocked bar. Good breakfast.
