Stay was good the only down faults was the parking but we really enjoy our stay

Staff very helpful. Room was great. Loved having a sitting area with sofa.

The décor is beautiful in the lobby, the lobby bar, and throughout. City views were lovely from our 7th floor room. We did have an issue with our first room: it was adjacent to the elevator, and was extremely noisy. But the desk clerk Thomas was very responsive & allowed us to move down the hall to another room. However the refrigerator in the second room was very noisy, and we had to unplug it for the night. The remote control for the TV didn't work. The loveseat had a tear in it, about 24" long! How that was allowed to stay in our room was perplexing!

After staying in chains for a week, my daughter and I spent a night at the Clarion Hotel Morgan. The hotel is charming and nicely restored, but with modern comforts and amenities. It was very clean and comfortable. It slightly showed its age in little ways, like the dark lobby (beautiful dark wood furnishings) and the wind howling at night. This added to the charm but might not please some people. Super friendly staff!

Staff very friendly and easy to talk to. They seem willing to resolve any issues or answer any questions that we had. The elevator tended to shut its door very quickly and caught my husband twice. This cause a little more concern since he is disabled and was using a cane.

Both the front desk staff and the ,lady who oversaw the breakfast room went out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. The location was perfect for our needs. This is our second stay at the hotel and we'll be back. It's not the newest hotel in town but they do all that they can to make for a pleasant stay and experience.

I was in transit, just passing through and needing a place to stay, so had no expectations. Except to be close to somewhere I could grab some food and a good local beer. This hotel was centrally located with lots out my front door. It was an old hotel, as you would expect, and not quaint like some, though interesting. Definitely not over its 3 stars. The staff weren't really that interested in getting you checked in, helping you orient yourself. The kind of low key you would expect in a sleepy collegetown. Got to watch the soccer teams practice at night at the university field out my backwindow. Nice stay overall.

This hotel is great. Has an older feel but very clean and fantastic location. I would recommend this hotel.

Two co-workers and I stayed here while visiting a customer. It was an older hotel but very clean. The breakfast provided was very good plus it is within walking distance of several restaurants.

First of all, I have to imagine this place is a lot wilder when WVU is in session. Right in downtown, there is a kind of hippie mountain people vibe with the standard vagrancy of any downtown. Not very redneck as some might expect in West Virginia. There seemed to be a lot of young local musicians from various genres. Not sure if they are any good but it seemed like a bit of a hotbed for it. The nearby breweries seemed to be more known for their food. I liked Chestnut Ridge beer the best. There are many bars to choose from in the end. I don't know if there is an official time the bars have to close, but more than one place said they stay open as long as people are still drinking. As far as food, I ate a good tofu burrito at Black Bear and had some amazing tofu chili at Morgantown Brewing. The hotel had a lot to choose from for breakfast. For vegans they had soymilk to go with their cereal. The hotel is old, kind of had a Shining vibe to it. But the rooms were big. I paid quite a bit but it could accommodate four people easily.

Located conveniently right in the middle of town. Outside not impressive, but room was perfect; we had a 2 double bed room with couch/sitting area, microwave & fridge, nicely appointed & cozy. The best was the beds & pillows...so comfy! Parking lot located across the street which wasn't an issue for us. There's a complimentary breakfast which we avoided because we'd heard it was sparse & awful, but would definitely stay again & eat somewhere else!

Room was clean. Overpriced for its value. Sink would not drain at all and key into the room would barely work even after trying to recode it at the front desk. I stay every year there for work and it has gone downhill from last year.

This was a great get a way spot for couples looking for quaint accomodations within walking distance of shops and eateries. We stayed here while visiting our son at WVU and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was lousy as there weren't very many options and no flavored creamer.

Dont let the outside fool you.Interior furnished nice.clean suite very nice for old bldg.Lots of restraunts nearby

Besides the Air conditioning being broke, the stay was fine.

This hotel tries to maintain its original charm, but really needs some updates. The breakfast was really bad, not many options. Not the worst hotel ever , just nothing special.

Made reservation a day too short, hotel was full when I asked if I could stay. Front Desk promised referral numbers and when I went to get them less than an hour later, there was nothing. Frustrating...

The Hotel Clarion is an old historic hotel in the heart of Morgantown. It is close to the waterfront and has a few decent restaurants in close proximity. This hotel has been redone with the old school charm. There was a refrigrator iron and board as well s hair dryer and a few sundries ie shampoo, conditioner lotion and shower cap.The bathroom had a shower/tub and toilet and the sink was seperated with a counter. The amoire provided sufficient room for hanging cloths.
