We enjoyed our stay very much, the room was nice and the beautiful view made up for the small size of the room and bathroom. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, huge selection and excellent food. Concierge was very friendly and helpful. Good service in general. I am not sure it qualifies as a 5 star hotel but the price was reasonable so I would say it is a good value. Make sure you get a room with ocean view.
Solid 4 star hotel in great location in Quiberon. Good service great pool spa etc.. good gym hotel staff friendly. Also the restaurant is very good and not expensive. Food quality was of a high standard, service very good and the wine list more than adequate
This is a Marmite hotel. You will either love it or not! If you don’t know the hotel the following may be helpful. 1. Hotels are rarely located just above sea level, but this one is. The sound of the waves, the sea spray, the views of the Atlantic and seeing a Gannet from my balcony, for me, were simply magical. BUT, as other guests have said most rooms have no air-con, so leaving the windows open a bit at night during our stay, (in September), was essential. The noise of the ocean and the seagulls could be annoying for light sleepers. 2. We loved being in the outdoor heated Jacuzzi, overlooking the sea, in an Atlantic gale. What a wonderful experience. Not one though seemingly popular with most guests as we usually had the Jacuzzi to ourselves. The salt-water swimming pool, sauna and steam room are large, very clean and well equipped. (Many of the guests come every year for these facilities). Hats are provided and must be worn by all men and women. My husband (bald), had never worn such a thing (and moaned to me about it), but is now a convert. Take a moment to find out what instructional classes are on offer if this is your thing. 3. Brunch on Sunday in the main restaurant is 40 Euros per person and includes as much a you want to eat, including fresh oysters, sushi, smoked fish, crepes, pastries, fruit etc etc. Absolutely delicious and well worth the money. Standard breakfast at 28 Euros is nice and service pleasant BUT 28 for breakfast is a bit steep when 1euro is now only worth £1. 4. The Blue Bar has a nice but very, very limited food menu during the day, so if you need food outside normal meal times you really need to resort to Room Service, (expensive). There is an informal café near the Spa and it would be very helpful if this extended its opening times. 5. The location of the hotel is unique and wonderful BUT if like us you intend to arrive by train ask the hotel to arrange a pick-up for you, as there are hardly any taxi’s in Quiberon and it is a very long walk from the station. Likewise, if like us exploring the area is your thing, plan your travel carefully as the hotel mini-bus only goes to Quiberon twice a day. For those with limited mobility the hotel is low-rise but very extensive and lots of walking may be required. The walk to Quiberon is about a mile and takes about half an hour BUT seems much longer if it’s either raining or you’ve been walking all day! We had a very nice stay, had no complaints and would stay again BUT I found the décor somewhat dull for a 5* hotel and overall there was a lack of that special ‘oomph’ which is what I consider makes a ‘good’ hotel, an ‘exceptional’ one.
First of all the location is great. Right at a beautiful quiet beach.There is a lot of parking space but the places itself are quite narrow. Reception was excellent with a (very small) welcome drink and a thorough explanation of the hotel and the area. Suitcases were already in the room when we got there. The room is quite small for a 5-star hotel and the bathroom was a bit dated. If they really want to update the hotel they probably have to turn 3 rooms into 2 to create a descent space.Bed was excellent: Sofitel MyBed. Turning down service is a bit weird: a chocolate on your pillow but they don't close the curtains? Breakfast is good but can be crowded. A part of the staff was excellent (restaurant manager and cook) but there is a big difference between them. From amateur to professional. They serve Illy coffee in the hotel but not at the breakfast sad enough. The spa is very nice and 16+. They said the hot tub outside was renovated but it didn't look new? Spa area is very clean and good size. The staff at the terrace wasn't very friendly. They also served the utensils by touching the part you eat from so that wasn't very hygienic or professional. The reception was great, but our farewell wasn't. We were walking with our luggage through the rain to our car and both staff members just said ' au revoir' and kept chatting with each other. One of the letters of the Sofitel-brand lights was still defect when we left. A bit exemplary for the stay: room for improvement.

Very disappointing experience. We booked two rooms and realized shorty after checking in that one was not clean. I won't go into the details here but after calling reception and being told it would be addressed right away we came back to the room after dinner and it was still dirty. I asked to speak to the duty manager and apparently she wasn't interested in talking to us (Delphine). Then we learned the rooms don't have AC. This should have been clearly spelled out as I have never stayed at a 5 star hotel that didn't have AC. Eventually the front desk staff came and cleaned the room. Dinner was just okay and too expensive. The menu offered no discount over a la carte pricing which I'll never experienced before in a French restaurant. The tuna was overcooked. The service was good. The problem here is bad management. The front line staff tried to help us but management was not to be seen.
We booked one night here for a special ocassion. First of all, it is not cheap so of course expectations are high, also given it is 5*. Unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations at all. The standard room is small and the bathroom very outdated. We stayed in other 3 and 4 star hotels on the same trip and this bathroom was 3 star at best. The spa is also very outdated and desperately needs a refresh. It does not feel like a luxury spa (I have been to many) and does not offer much. Just a very small/basic sauna and steam room, a pool and jacuzzi (sea water which is a plus). Spa treatments are extremely expensive. Considering the average age of the clientele (60+) this may be acceptable but for anyone else this will be disappointing. Breakfast was not impressive for a 5* either. Very basic. Choice, quality of products and service are at 3* level so not worth the price. The worst part of the stay: we booked a special package with accor that included a VIP welcome with a bottle of champagne and late checkout. At checkin this was not mentioned so I asked about it. They said there was no record of this in their system and dismissed us, and quickly welcomed the next checkin guests. I decided to go back to reception with my email confirmation of my reservation and proof of the package inclusion. I spoke to another member of personnel and after explaining the issue a few times she said she would speak to her colleague who was busy at the time but assured me we would receive our package. By the next morning we still didnt have our bottle of champagne or confirmation of late check out so we called reception to complain. They finally sent up the bottle and confirmed late checkout. Needless to say, we didnt want to drink the champagne then so it was almost pointless. There were no apologies from the hotel...honestly it felt like we were treated with less respect and given less importance just because we were only staying one night versus many people who stay there as a longer term retreat. In summary: i do not recommend this hotel unless you are willing to pay a 5* price for a 3* hotel or plan to spend thousands of euros.
We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel, didn't know what to expect. Our room was the standard double with sea views and balcony, but as we had a dog we needed something a little bigger. We changed to a sea view suite, fabulous. Much bigger, with walk in change rooms, his & her sink with a shower & bath tub, and a king size bed. Room was superb, bed amazingly comfortable. Most of all the rooms have sea views so ask or you'll get a garden or car park view. We didn't make use of the gym/ swimming pool (indoor/& outdoor) thalasso facilities/ beauty spa/ restaurants as we just wanted to basically crash, after a busy work schedule. But the facilities are top notch, very clean, and the spa is not cheap. I had a skin diagnostic which took 15 minutes and cost 40 Euros. They also have bikes available to use but cost 9Euros per day. The hotel is located at the end of town, along a pathway that runs the length of the coast. It is used by many joggers night & day, cyclists, dog walkers, and general public. The beach directly outside our room is a public beach, which the hotel have no control over. Thus the first 2 nights of party ravers partying till 5am - the police were brought in to remove said persons. Anyhow, the hotel - accept pets at a charge of 24 euros pn, small price if you want your dog with you. Rooms have fridges, TV's, music systems, hair dryers, A/C, usual basics you'd expect. The hotel staff were very attentive and polite. There is plenty of parking and ramps/lifts for the disabled or over luggaged. As we didn't eat at the hotel I am unable to comment but it is not cheap. We preferred to walk into the town and eat at the very many restaurants available amongst the hustle & bustle of the summer holiday season.
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for one night during our trip around Normandy and Bretagne. The hotel has outstanding view of the ocean and has a nice walking path right by the beach. The room was spotless, the staff was professional and extremely helpful. The regular room has met our expectations and the heating rack in the bathroom with the plush robes that have been pre-heated makes a wonderful welcome. The only thing we were not impressed with was the breakfast selection. I believe for such an outstanding hotel, you should step up your breakfast selections. I would suggest home-made yogurt, variety of pastries (in addition to just croissant), and more fresh fruit (not compote). Otherwise, the stay was wonderful and we would love to come back and enjoy the hotel and the beach when the weather gets warm. Thank you.
It seems that the hotel itself is slowly coming in its years and to be honest, I have seen better equipped spas around but the staff is amazing! Ilia welcomed us upon arrival and he was not only very professional but also very friendly and made us laugh. He accompanied us to the room and explained everything nicely! Christophe, the concierge helped us finding restaurants and Camille also from front desk was just perfect! The team made our stay great and we thank them for that!
