Wonderful holiday stay. Hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious and the staff was extremely accommodating.

I travel a ton. I'll just say I was blown away by the room. The first thing I did when I walked in was to check to make sure I hadn't accidentally paid for a higher priced hotel. I had limited interactions with staff (was there for business and out of the room most of the time), but the location and room were fabulous. I'll be back with the family.

Excellent location. Good value. Super helpful staff. Tolerated us Americans without any hint of an attitude

We stayed at the Executive Suite and found it very spacious and homey. Bed was comfortable (but is a touch low for anyone who struggles getting in/out of bed). Jetted bathtub and shower were very nice. Only on the very picky side, but two things that could be improved - the quality of towels and the bathrobes is like something you would find at a Marriott, not at a luxury location, and the fact that the dual-headed shower (regular, rain) can only operate one or the other at one time and not simultaneously.

Overall, it was a great hotel in a great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the free bottled water each night. My only minor complaint is that the room could have been more thoroughly cleaned. There was some dust in the room when we first checked in and was not cleaned during our stay. Despite this, I would stay at this hotel again in the future.

The lobby is welcoming, with its large gas fireplace, my room, which is described as a "classic," had a large, comfortable bed, and old-world charm with black and white decor, large tub, massive wooden doors, and floor-to-ceiling window. The staff is wonderful, and changed money for me, and directed me to the 747 bus to the airport. Oh, and I loved the fluffy, white robe which the hotel provides, for free, and the free and excellent coffee provided in the lobby around the gas fireplace. I would stay in Le Place d'Armes again in a hearbeat.

We were there for just the weekend and we didn't want to leave. The staff is absolutely delightful! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurants in the hotel also had amazing food! We can't wait to come back!

Great location. The hotel has 2 excellent restaurants . Rooms are beautifully designed .

I booked a classic queen room and upon check-in, was upgraded to a junior suite. This was for a business trip and unfortunately, I did not get to use all the amenities due to a lack of time (and spouse) but the room was large and comfortable, and felt luxurious. I had no trouble working or sleeping as it was very quiet. I almost suspected that I may have been the loudest patron since I tend to turn the TV volume up. The staff was very courteous and answered any questions I had. As for the location, given that I live in California and aren't usually subjected to any temperature lower than 65°F I appreciated the fact I only had a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station. I would definitely come back if the opportunity arises.

We found the front desk clerks both young woman to be totally unwelcoming our first night when we arrived late an very tired very snobby staff and the rooms are way too pricey too small, and we were woken up by a fight in the hallway and food was way overpriced in their restaurants, not a happy experience here.

We booked a junior suite at Le Place d'Armes for a last minute long weekend in Montreal. We could not have been more pleased. The room was large and comfortable, the staff of the hotel was friendly throughout our stay, and the location was perfect for enjoying walks in Vieux Montreal, as well as reasonable walking distance to the Fine Arts Museum. We tried the in-house restaurant, Suite 701, once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both times the service and food were very good. We enjoyed chatting with William, the mixologist, who invents and serves up delicious cocktails.

Frequent visitors to Montreal, my husband and I like to try different places. This was our favorite. It is an old hotel that beautiful bones, but is well-kept and up-to-date. The room was spacious with a large bathroom including a walk-in shower. Many times that is not the case in an older building. The location is fantasic if your destination is old Montreal. A bar is on the eighth floor roof. I would highly recommend this hotel. Not cheap, but we have spent more for less in Montreal.

Rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Staff is helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the complementary drink in the hotel bar/restaurant. Hotel is within walking distance to many great restaurants as well.

Location is perfect. In the middle of old town, right behind the Notre Dame Cathedral. Our room was a split level with the bedroom and main bathroom upstairs and the seating area and a half bath downstairs. Access to both floors in case you have difficulty with stairs. The brick walls provided a charming decor. Since we visited in the summer we did not use the fireplace. Room had all amenities. Room service could use improvement. They did not vacuum the floors and did not empty all the wastebaskets. Staff at the front desk, concierge, valet and restaurant are very friendly and helpful even if you don't speak french. We also used their spa service which was very good. My wife said her treatment with Sunita was one of the best she ever had. Overall this is an excellent value for the location and amenities.

The only negative aspect of this hotel was that we were told upon check in that our continental breakfast was included with our $250.00 a night room. We had a croissant and a glass of orange juice that came to $46.00.

This is the best stay and hotel if you want to experience old world Montreal, walk out the front door, and be where the action is. The property is clean, luxurious, and a great stay overall. Will come back again.

My reservation was for queen, but they upgraded to a King and I think to a much better room, as well. I had a corner room with a great view on the Place d'Armes. The room looked amazing - really a great experience all around.

It was a good hotel, good location, close to all interesting things to visit in Monreal

very positive. Excellent location. Very comfortable rooms. Only negative was that during the week was rather noisy outside due to street noise.
