Overall the hotel berri was average. The down side to this place was the air conditioner did not work well. It made the room stuffy. The only other problem a small one, I attempted to order room service. Kept calling the number on the phone. No answer. Called the front desk ask about room service. She acknowledged that it should be available transfers my call. The phone never rang. I ended up going down to the restaurant ordered. The trip was pleasure just to see the city. Overall a lot to see. Great church architecture old Montreal and museum. The only suspect area was an area that the street was closed for traffic. It was lined with pink balls overhead. A lot of people homeless drug addiction problems I believe. Not a pretty sight. A exceptional visit to Quebec city. Great place. I wished I had made part of my trip there for at least two days. Next time I visit I will split between the two cities. Canada is a beautiful place great people.

It is always great to stay at the lord Berri. It is close to the Metro and a block from st. Catherines street.

Traveling to Montreal staying at Lord Berri is home away from home, comfortable, clean, friendly staff. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the lobby restaurant is like home cooked meals, with excellent service. I highly recommend this Hotel.

great hotel in downtown core with pay parking right beside it

Hotel lobby seemed nice at first, but the front desk customer service (called Elsa) ruined the entire evening for my family getaway. She gave us our rooms half an hour late without an apology, nor a smile. I had to check with her FOUR TIMES before she unpleasantly gave us our rooms. The room smelled like mold, carpet stained, and the hair dryer sparked with fire when I used it. Unbelievable... never returning and not going to recommend this place to anyone. There are lots of other hotels near the downtown area. Go elsewhere but here!

Bad experience in the first night. Room with mold smell.

The hotel is in a great location which leads you to many attractions in minutes walk. The village, old Montreal, chinatown or even downtown. We've been here couple times, but this time the room is not what we expected. It was ages, and not really clean. However, we only spent a night there so it was a great short escape for us.

We have stayed here for the past three years. The hotel is a good value in a good location right by Rue St Catherine and a metro hub. Easy walk to the old quarter too. It has comfortable beds and a very nice staff.

The hotel is in a great part of town, convenient to St. Catherine St and the Metro, but the amenities were lacking and the staff was lackluster. We were initially given keys to another guest's room and only realized we were in the wrong place because there was luggage in the room we entered. It was only upon realizing this mistake that the staff was particularly kind to us. It was a good bargain, but you get what you pay for.

This is a decent enough hotel, but the location is key. It's less than a block to the biggest metro stop in Montreal, close to the gayborhood, walking distance to jazzfest and more. Room wasn't anything special and front desk staff wasn't particularly friendly, but it was a steal for the location.

The location is great but the room comfort isn't the best. The beds are extra firm and pillows flatten quickly. Rooms are dated.

Great hotel in downtown Montreal... Can't beat the location right next to Berri-Uqam for all Metro stops. They have very limited parking, but luckily there are other options for around $13 a night next to the hotel!

Great location near many attractions in Montreal. The rooms are generally clean but the beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. The rooms and common areas are dated. The parking next door is not affiliated with the hotel and there are no in out priveleges. This isn't a hotel for family visitors or extended stay business folks. Good for a long weekend.

Orb. outdid themselves this time. I know to bring earplugs when I book with Orb., because hotels apparently put their "Orb. rooms" in the noisiest locations--e.g. near the HVAC systems. It happens too often to be coincidence. Even the earplugs didn't work the 2nd night--the equipment was so loud that a framed painting on the wall was rattling due to the vibration. I had to tape a rolled newspaper to the frame to dampen that. I asked for another room, since I couldn't sleep, but of course the place was full. I considered moving to another hotel. The problem persisted for the next day but somehow was resolved by the evening. But who knows when it might recur.

Pros: Great location. Right by the Berri-UQAM station and you can basically either walk or take the metro anywhere you need to get to. Also, free wifi in room! Cons: The hotel service was terrible. The girl who was at the desk could care less if you were checking in or had a question or what. When I asked if I could store my luggage while I wait for the check-in time, she didn't say a word, grabbed the keys, tossed it on the counter, and pointed around the corner. I thought she was very rude. The hotel lobby is clean. However, the room I was in was very Motel 6-esque. Everything about it was old and dingy... the walls, curtains, carpet, bedding, furniture, bathroom. It was bearable for one night and bc I was alone. However, it is not a place I would prefer to bring my family to. I also would not recommend the restaurant in the hotel lobby. The food was mediocre at best and I didn't even finish my meal. I would recommend Hotel Lord Berri it if you're on a budget (my room for one night on Friday was $120 USD) and if you need a great location with free wifi. If you're on a weekend getaway to relax, I would look elsewhere.

Ideal Location, Nice Sized rooms, not a whole lot to complain about. Great Service

Room was super clean and up to date from the last time I stayed. Way over priced and night staff was not friendly at all.

My experience there was average and what could be expected for Montreal. I really feel that the accommodations could have been more current. The bedding seemed to be very old, soiled, and stained. Air freshness also seemed to be stale and not appropriate.

This place has mixed reviews so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty clean and comfortable. The rooms are old but clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was pretty great. A lot of place are walking distance and one of the major metro stops is half a block away- from that metro stop you can get anywhere easily.

Great hotel for the money. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Bathroom was average, but clean. Restaurant/Bar are nice after being out all day. Only downside is parking at $17/day. The garage is located below the building and is small. You are required to back in the parking spot and it is typically full (guessing about 20 parking spaces). Easy walk to the Village and only blocks to the Latin Quarter. Would definitely return, however not with a car (rented one and didn't use it once for fear of losing the parking space).
