Basically this experience was horrible. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. I went with a friend and the room was tiny and noisy. We changed rooms for a bigger one and it stank of smoke worse than any bar. The whole place is very loud. I would not recommend to stay there at all. The best about this place was the staff!!! Very kind and friendly they really tried everything to help us out.
Ok is the highest I'd give this. Lovely staff, modern and clean lobby with free wifi in the lobby. Room/ apartment was very basic, rather dated and perhaps not as well dusted as I might have hoped, but bed was comfortable and the 3 bed 'apartment' we had was spacious. Breakfast was pleasant and was taken in a small purpose-used room. For croissants, coffee and orange juice 9.90€ seemed a little steep though. It was a convenient location, only about a 10 min walk away from the gare Saint roch and 15 from place de la comedie. However it was not in a location I would feel comfortable walking around in at night ... Overall it was an OK place to stay.
This place welcomes you with a reception that smells of moldy cellar. The staff at reception barely acknowledge you, the public areas are very shabby and the carpet is stained and old. The rooms are tiny and very dirty. Everything has to be paid extra. We asked for a iron and an ironing board which we had to collect ourselves from reception. The board was tiny and super thin, impossible to iron anything with it, and the iron was so dirty my shirt would have become black if i had used it. We even has a member of staff enter our room with their passepartout keys without even knocking at the door. All this for 80 euros a night. No thank you
Top points - about 10 minutes walk from the Centre; comfy bed and new and crisp bedding. The rest - paid parking; tired interior and rooms; ancient kitchen appliances; no soap in shower. In short - somewhere to sleep not to hang out.
Our decision was based on its relatively proximity to the city center (~15 mins walk or 5 mins tram ride of two stations) and of course low pricing. In that sense no bad or good surprises. Basic kitchen utensils are okay for simple cooking. Bedroom is relatively squeezed compared to the relaxed bathroom and long corridor. Our one week stay was eligible for a room-cleaning of our preference. Hygiene people can purchase some cleaning aids from the Intermarche of 7 minutes walk and perform an overall bathroom and kitchen cleaning as we did. The place overall feels like a university dormitory, and energetic neighbours may be scampish from time to time. Breakfast at extra cost is again simple but effective. Reception people are very attentive and kind. It is possible to rent a wireless router for your room, it works flawlessly. Do not forget to take out your rubbish with you when checking out. Overall it is ok for short visits without any expectations; if you look for service, comfort and extra hygiene this is not the place.
We stayed for 4 nights whilst visiting friends. It was intended to be a low cost base, and that's exactly what it provided. The reception staff were friendly, and though check in gave me a chance to test my French other staff members switched to English without request. The parking was very secure and cheap. The room was fine - nothing fancy, and the beds weren't the most comfortable ever, but perfectly functional. The bathroom was fine too. It's a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of town, but an easy one. I'd suggest not taking breakfast at the hotel, but walking into town and sitting outside a café. I'd stay again.
Everything seems old and hardly functioning (if at all). Smells is also not great in the rooms (we saw two rooms as the first we were given was incorrect and then had to be changed). Be aware that EVERYTHING is charged extra including one hour late checkout, storing luggage in the luggage room, etc. Breakfast not particularly great quality food.
We overnighted two nights at this hotel and we were pretty good. The hotel is just 15-20 minutes walking from the city center and is easily accessible by tram. The staff was very friendly to us. Our apartment was quite spacious and warm, but a bit old and dirty, especially the kitchen and the bathroom. The apartments do not have free wifi (2 euros per day, a normal price) and breakfast is very expensive (9 euros). The value is simply incorrect.
The advertised description of this hotel sounds too good to be true, and it is.The best feature was the underground on site parking. A rabbit warren of small rooms with mediocre facilities, capped off with staff who were both uncommunicative and disinterested. Our 3 night stay felt like 3 weeks. The so called continental breakfast was sparse even by French standards. We even had to ask for clean crockery before we could eat. It seems the crockery and cutlery was doled out as begrudgingly as were the measly quantity of ingredients. Don't even ask about the kitchenette, with nothing in which to cook or heat on the plate sized cooktop. At least they were consistent, the beds matched the general standard of the room. The only saving grace was the hotel's relative proximity to the excellent tram service in the city. As seasoned travelers in Europe, we have stayed in some ordinary digs, this was down amongst the worst.
The rooms are average with a small attached kitchenette. The first night I arrived there the fire alarm kept making beeping sound every few minutes the whole night. The next day a lady came and told me that it is because she has to change the battery. However, after struggling for pulling the battery cover for a while, she managed to pull the whole unit out. But instead of replacing the battery she just took away the fire alarm itself! I did not see the fire alarm for the rest of the week I stayed there. They do not have wi-fi in the room, only wired internet connection which is not good if you want to use your cell or tablet. There is no lunch or dinner arrangement in the hotel and the vending machine outside provides just basic things like Coke and chips. The rooms are cleaned at most once a week (even that I am not sure: The cleaning lady when we were leaving on the last day). In the bathroom you will find only one toilet roll for the whole week. However, the worst thing about this hotel is that they do not tell you the check-out time (11:00 a.m.). But when you try to check out after that they demand something like 7 Euro per hour penalty. Also I saw an aged lady who was almost in tears because the hotel staff were insisting that she has to take back her garbage! Breakfast is OK, but no variation, I saw exactly the same things on all of the 4 days I was there. In short, if you are looking for a basic place to stay where you can cook this is OK. Otherwise better go elsewhere.
