We loved our stay at Hotel de Garlande. Stefan took care of us in every way, even taking us back in for a few hours when our train was canceled. The hotel is located close to everything, but on a quiet side street, which was perfect for us. The homemade breakfast is delicious and they even made special gluten-free items for me. It is charming and quirky and friendly.
Lovely hotel with very helpful staff - thanks especially to [...]. Our room was bright with fantastic views, night&day, looking directly at the Opera Theatre and all the activity at the Place de la Horloge. We were just a couple of minutes from the Palais des Papes, good restaurants, shopping and the Rhone.
This hotel is just great--beautiful spacious rooms with a touch of tradition and large windows--very friendly and helpful staff. Nice little outdoor seating area. Great location--a short walk to the Palace of the Popes. Bottom line--if I am in Avignon again I will be booking this hotel!!!
We booked this hotel last minute, knowing we would barely be there since we got in on the train late and left early the next day to experience the French countryside. It took us a while to find it, it was pretty remote from the city center. Nothing to eat in walking distance, but the restaurant was pretty good. The amenities were nice, especially if you want to play tennis or swim in a lap pool. Our room was big, much bigger then you would get in a typical hotel in a city. The staff was pretty pleasant but their English was very weak, was hard to get information about things from them. Bed was a bit on the less then desirable side, felt like a fold out couch.
