Comfort Inn Monterey Bay

This is on a busy street but we did not hear the noise in the room. We did hear other noisy guests staying at the hotel. The rooms open onto wooden balconies, so everyone walking by and talking can be heard. The motel is older but maintained quite well with many lovely flowers also. The breakfast room is in a converted motel room and is very small (only 4 tables). Real china and good selection for breakfast though. It was ok for 3 days but nothing special and bed could be better.

A clean room for our stay, and good location for Travel

Everthing was great, except that the breakfast room was too small-a bigger room or more seating would have made everything perfect.

The staff were incredibly friendly, good breakfast, the room was clean/spacious. Close to fishermans wharf & canarry row. Also close to the airport fair warning, planes do fly overhead, but it's a small airport & don't seem to fly through the night.

We came to Monterey to see the Aquarium and 17 mile drive. The hotel is very close to Cannery Row--not walkable, but within a 10-minute drive. It's surprisingly well appointed for the cost--clean, quality bed, large bathroom with good water pressure. We even had our own patio and working (gas) fireplace! Phone was broken and the TV channel selection is awful, but you don't go to Monterey to watch TV. Recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms look like they were recently remodeled. Very clean an the staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel staff was better than expected. The room was newer, comfortable and clean.

The room itself was fairly clean and staff was really nice. It was a little noisy and the bed was hard. Overall for the value, I'd stay again.

Purchased 2-night stay online, sight unseen. Brought pet and was accommodated with ease. Location was just perfect and room was comfortable and clean.

Hotel landscaping is beautiful--the geraniums and other plants were in full bloom. The room is OK but could use a little uplifting. Bathroom is a little dirty, the builtin hairdryer did not work. Could hear people next door, and the doors slam very loudly. The breakfast was also great; but when we went in about 9:30am the scramble eggs were already stale. The price is a little high for the quality of the room.

It was nice and clean but could use a little updating.

Enjoyed my stay there and it was perfect! I will probably stay there again, if I'm in town.

This hotel was a classic case of "you get what you pay for." It was VERY conveniently located in relation to the Monterey Bay aquarium and even had a special 2 day pass for the price of a 1 day. the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The downsides to this hotel was that the walls are PAPER THIN. I could hear everytime someone else was leaving their room or walking down the stairs, which often included excited children going to the aquarium. Also, there was a concert going on behind the hotel that night and I felt like i was there in the back row. Also, it is close to the airport and the plane noises are VERY loud. The planes stopped around 10:30 and started up again around 6 am. I probably wouldnt stay here again, but for the price i payed for it i can't complain too much about the visit.

Comfort Inn on Monterey Bay was very comfortable and clean and had everything you could want in a motel. The staff were extra caring.

Was impressed with the lovely garden feel. Room was nice, clean and roomy. Breakfast room was not adequate for the size of hotel. The power went off in bathrrom in evening & staff didn't know how to resore it, only offered to have us move to another room.

CLean...did the job of showeres and sleep...Bring your own pillow though...they were pretty bad there!

This place was so nice. The rooms were clean and cute. The complimentary breakfast was way better then I ever expected. The only downfall was the front office man. The outlet in the bathroom was broken so not only wouldn't the hotel's hairdryer work, but neither would mine. When I brought this to the attention on the front desk man he proceeded to explain to me that I was doing it wrong. After semi arguing over it for a couple minutes I told him that whatever the problem was I just wanted to bring it to their intention but I said I didn't need it fixed during my stay. I just wanted them to be aware of it for the next guests. Later that evening he sent another man to replace the hairdryer, which was not the issue in the first place. The man who came in to look at it saw that I was right and I then told him again that I didn't want it fixed during my stay. Although none of these problems were a big deal it just added on to my frustration with the front dest man. He didn't listen to any of my questions when I arrived and then blamed me for the difficulties with the switch. He just needed to learn to listen.

Nice and cozy. Very clean and well maintained. Near POM, would definitely return.

I like that the location of the Comfort Inn was near a lot of the beaches. But the only thing about the place is the walls were too thin and you could hear exactly what the next room was doing. Overall, it good for the location, but if you want to get some peace and quite, than not the best spot.

Nothing fancy about the room but I was pleased with it being clean and well kept. The included waffle breakfast was a bonus. Pillows were too soft for my taste.
