- Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort
This place has potential to be a comfortable motel with some extra amenities. The staff was very nice, but it was obvious that the ownership is about maximizing profits more than ensuring a pleasant guest experience. Casa Munras was twice the price as the Days Inn a block away where the rest of our group was staying and didn't actually make any of the extra amenities that they advertised available. Also the rooms were slightly better and the beds more comfortable at the Days Inn. We would have been fine with the rooms and price, except that we booked Casa Munras expecting to use the pool, spa and restaurant/bar. Sadly, none of those features were actually available during our stay. The restaurant/bar was booked for a private event the Saturday night we were there so we came home at 9 p.m. from a very long day and found out that we couldn't even order a drink. Management had not bothered to notify us in advance. On top of that, the very loud, private karaoke party was happening on the patio a couple of doors down from our room. I have no objection to a good party -- but it's hard to listen to blasting karaoke when you can't enjoy a cocktail. We decided we'd go for a quick swim, but the manager was adamant that pool closes at 9 p.m. even when no one in the place would have been able to sleep with the party happening. Also the spa closes in the early evening so don't count on using it even for the extra fee if you have daytime obligations.
