it was good I was hardly in the room, but the service was good.

This was our second stay. Check-in was a royal pain, I'm hoping it was based on it being a busy day but it took nearly an hour to get our room. The wifi range was limited on the premises. No hot water to shower with. Great things, the rate for the place was good, mini kitchenette was a plus, proximity to the beach and walking distance to all the things Ocho Rios had to offer.

very unpleasant, the staff tried every effort to assist, but things were beyond their control, the apartments needs work, they are old and brokendown the furniture are uncomfortable, did not get a good night sleep or a hot water bath for the 9 nights we stayed there. the kitchen flooded repeatedly and the roof leaks during the rain weting our personal belongings etc.the time spent there was terrible we spent most of our vacation waiting for service, there is only one plumber on duty 7 days/ week. however the staff is the best i have seen so far, they should fix the buildings and do all they can to keep such a great staff team. you the rental company need to investigate before booking people to stay at such a hotel, i will be seeking further to get my money refunded, all is documented and photographed for such time.

Really just a sleep over; no frills hotel. Could have offered continental breakfast as an incentive.

The Hotel was at a great location. The shower, bathroom, sink were stained, The corners were covered in mildew and bad repair attempts. The kitchenette contents were mismatched. We had two similiar rooms, they did not contain the same things, eg. one had toaster the other had none, small refrigerator in one large in the other. Icebox full of water evidently no one checked the rooms before re-letting.Another couple with us was so disgusted with the unclean condition in there apartment they had to be moved. The staff were OK except the porter who helped us to our rooms He was disgruntal and behaved as if we were disturbing His rest. The location was great, would not recommend it unless the person was desperate.

i would not recommend this hotel to a friend

Had to wait for items...towels etc. One iron in whole place Had to pay for remote

The purpose of the the stay was rest and relaxation. The first thing I noticed was there were no towels and no hot water in the room I called "0" (custumer service) I also requested a Iron and Ironing board they said they were on the way, 1 hour later I called again as they still did not arrive long story short I got towels 3 1/2 hour after and the iron and ironing board 4 hours after my original call. waiting so long we had to take a cold shower and head out for some dinner as we had been waiting so long...not happy! Day 2 after returning from lunch still no hot water ,no towels in the room again but we did get them soon after but now ready to take a shower I find that there is still no hot water so I called "0" (customer service) needless to say maintanace came and said they would take care of it. I got NO hot water and had to change rooms at 9:45pm. 1 night and 1 morning of hot water poor towel service and iron and ironing board I think I got lucky with that one! Management would not even speak with me about the matter! What a waist of money!

The hotel was located right in downtown Ocho Rios, making it convenient to all the shops and restaurants around, also, there was a friendly tour operator in the lobby to explain all the sights and activities available in Jamaica. Lastly, there was a full kitchen and pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. Those were probably the only good points. The not-so-good points are as follows: - No direct access to beach - Tiny pool which was closed for chemical treatment at 5pm daily - Deposits required for tv remote, beach/pool towels (a minor annoyance, but still an annoyance) - A Queen-sized bed is just two twin beds pushed together - Beds and sheets are below average - Rooms are old and therefore not exactly clean looking

well i have stayed at sandcastles on numerous occasions, and it's pretty much the same thing when i first stayed there i was given a bad room but now i know which rooms are good and always ask for a room on the ground floor. if you are not the ai type this hotel is great you can cook the beach is right there an it's close to everything in ochi. if you are looking to hang out at the pool bar be entertained and basically stay on the resort YOU WILL NOT HAVE FUN!!! as far as ppl complianing about being robbed i never had this problem because my fiance is from JA and two of his friends work at the hotel so im not sure if thats the reason but personally everytime i went i never heard any complaints of theft. anyways out of low budget hotels i definetly choose sandcastles, crainridge or rooms why i always go with sandcastle is because its closer to the beach rather then crainridge and rooms is right on the beach as well but u cant cook...

The location was unbeatable, in the heart of everything. Walking distance to supermarket, pharmacy, souvenir shops, craft market, restaurants, etc. The rooms are clean but simple and could use some updating. No elevator to the rooms and restaurant, only stairs. The atmosphere is laidback and relaxing. Staff was friendly. Pool was nice but small. The room safes don't work and you are required to put down deposits to use the safe at the front desk and if you want to use the remote for the tv, also for towels at the pool. Access to the beach is close.

I was on vacation with my wife when I stayed at the Sand Castle Resort. I booked my room based on a friend's advice. My friend and I will be talking very soon...I was disappointed with this hotel. Rooms hotel would've been a better choice. The hotel needs lots of detailed maintenance attention. Parts of the pool was cloudy, the showers had low pressure, the pool slide needs to be painted, and the pillow cases were dirty. When I asked for new ones, they took 1 hour to get them to me. It needs an upgrade badly. All of the rooms have wall untis and our a/c did not work as well. The most upsetting of all, it advertised complimentary breakfast but, I had to pay anyway. It also advertised a bar that would serve food but, I never saw anyone there. The only bright spots was the location, the hotel was quiet, and was right on the beach.

We went for 2 weeks to see the scenery. The locatrion was very good within mostof Ocho Rios and good for day trips. The staff was friendly. Unfortuinately trhe restaurant was only open for breakfast.

OK so so.

Upon arrival I was given my room, which was completely in the rear of the resort. I needed a shower as I had been sick on the plane. I got to the room and got into the shower which only had cold water, and leaked out onto the floor flooding the entry of the room. The television would not work and there was not phone in the room to report it to the front desk. I had to get out of the shower, get dressed and go back to the front to report the room. I was however given a new room, and it had been upgraded to a suite. It was so pretty and clean and great bathroom with hot water. Then I was happy and satisfied and comfortable.

This is a great location for someone or families on a budget. It is the perfect location as you can walk to almost anywhere in the town. This is not the best hotel, but it certainly is not the worst and I would recommend it to others. The rooms are privately own, so some are better than others, but we were lucky to get a good room. The only thing missing was a microwave...The beach is right at the back of the hotel and there is a Park across the street for families with kids. Basically there is something for everyone at any age.

the hotel is near supermarket and shopping. great place to stay

from the service desk attendant to the ground keepers every one very friendly and help to answer my questions. the setting very private yet fun. the room was very clean and well kept i had all that i needed. the view was wonderful with its private beach it was walking distance from shops, restaurants, casino. A lively night life i especially was very happy with the security for the hotel they were very observant and never neglect to make sure that we were staying at the hotel therefor no one who did not belong could easily enter unless there was a permission request from the guest. my overal view i loved it and i would return again and would recomend to all first timer's

Enjoyed a Studio here for a week. Staff was fine. Resturant was good especially breakfast. Fanily frendly atmosphere around the pool. Live entertainment on weekends would recomend to anyone looking for a great beachside location. Jamaica was wonderful

This hotel was very clean and for the most part the staff were friendly. I do wish that the menu had more options (i.e. jerk chicken besides being served at the pool menu). The maid staff kept my room extremely clean and tidy. I do wish that the lighting in the rooms were alot brighter esp during the night time. Plus the rooms could benefit from mircowaves if possible. It is in the perfect location to shops, resturants and the BEACH! All in all it was a good stay.
