The hotel is small so we met lot of people during our stay. However we are smokers and there were only two smoking areas at the motel. These areas were out of the way and not in a nice area. One was next to some trashy stuff and by the pool pump which was making an annoying loud noise. They should have more smoking areas such as around the pool and on the beach and outside areas of entertainment so we can each these activities and smoke also. Some of the entertainment was good but it seemed to get dull early each evening. The Japanese restaurant was excellent. However the Platinum restaurant was too cold and the serving of our meal was way to slow.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. There was a huge cockroach in our shower on day three. The weather sucked(not hotels fault). They play music extremely loud all night, when you’re trying to sleep. I got extremely ill when I got back home. Food was okay not great. the hot tub deck and pier was being replaced so you couldn’t utilize it. Only good thing was staff. They were wonderful.

The hotel need remodeling, the food is good but the menu need some revisions this is my third trip there and same food .

Would return was excellent. One suggestion great to place a fan by soda machine to keep bees away. I saw this done at another park

Bath tub wouldn't drain. Told the front desk and they got it fixed pretty quick. Loved the spa and couples massage. The pool could have been a little cleaner. Great staff and nice rooms.

My husband and I have celebrated our wedding anniversary for the past four years at Jewel Dunn's River Resort. We've always had a wonderful time because of the staff, food, facilities, and impeccable service. This year, we invited five other couples to join us. Our friends had a blast! The only negative about our stay this time was that the air conditioner did not work in our room the first night we were there. However, we were upgraded to a different room on the second day. Overall, our stay at the Jewel's Resort was wonderful as usual and I can't wait to get back!

Hotel itself is beautiful. On the smaller side but it does not feel crammed. You can only smoke in one location so if you smoke keep that in mind. We stayed in lanai rooms and the bathroom was a closet and the bed is kind of hard, but otherwise the room is nice. Close to dolphin cove and dunns falls. Drinks are strong so that's nice as well. Beach is smaller and locals are kept outside by a fence bit they are constantly calling you over. They aren't super aggressive but it is a constant background noise in that area. My wife and I had a great time overall so it is definitely worth it, if you're looking for a smaller more relaxed setting without a ton of night life.

My husband and I LOVED this resort. We will definitely be back! We loved that it was small and never felt crowded. We could always get a chair by the beach or the pool, no waiting in line at restaurants etc. Food was great, especially the pizza. Loved the coffee bar, hibachi restaurant and the staff is super friendly.

We stayed at the Jewel Run River Resort. The resort was beautiful,the area was spacious,so you never felt rushed or crowed. I never had a problem finding a lounge chair at the pool or the beach. There was plenty of shade available for those of us that need to get out of the sun. Around the pool and inside the resort it was clean with plenty of open doors and an enjoyable breeze. The food was above average and the service was great. I would like to be able to have more of wine selection included in the price for the all inclusive or even be able to purchase a glass of wine with dinner. During the dinner under the stars, it was enjoyable to have a six course meal served to you while listening to a violinist and listening to the waves. Staff planned and delivered the meal with class and experience and the food arrived hot and fresh. The Beach area is a small but close to the pool area. The beach is nice and the water is crystal blue. We will definitely return!

The staffs members are so rude. The hotel provides taxi services, they charged 100 US dollars for a 10 minutes ride, crazy.

The hotel is in a great location outside Ocho Rios. Transfer from the airport at Montego Bay was excellent. Check-in and check-out at the hotel were very smooth. The food was excellent. The best food was the jerk shack that had nice long hours, Hakeem and his staff prepared the very best jerk wraps and fries!! Also, the oven fired pizza hut turned out top flight pizzas, and the chef took great pride in her work. It was amazing how clean the food areas were, and how sincerely nice the staff were. The drinks were great, our favorite was of course the rum punch. We so appreciated that the hotel didn't blast disco music all day long. We really enjoyed the gent playing steel drums at the pizza place, and the saxophonist at the open-air restaurant. The one improvement could be in the nightly entertainment. People visit Jamaica for reggae and the average age at this hotel is maybe 45. So the hip-hoppy music of 18-year olds really doesn't speak to us. We would rather they showcase the music Jamaica is famous for and leave the American-style college kid music to someplace else.

We loved the resort, we never had an issue finding beach chairs/towels etc. The staff is very friendly for the most part. We booked our 3 excursions through orbitz so when we needed help with the excursions, the "tour" staff was unwilling to help with the exception of Shasha. A downside is that our AC would not go below 74 degrees in the room. The only other issue is that spa staff would come up to us every single day and ask us to book a treatment even though we already had one booked. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely go back!

We had a great time at the Jewel Dunn's River. We traveled with 5 couples in February. The staff is wonderful and the resort is a great size if you are traveling with others. It had everything we needed, but not SO big that we had trouble finding each other. The buildings themselves could use a little TLC but overall are not bad at all. They definitely have that Caribbean feel. My only disappointment was that we booked an oceanview room and were in the Saphire building on the second floor and could not see the ocean at all over the trees. It was a lovey view but what I would call a "Garden View" rather than an "Ocean View". We asked several time to be moved to a higher floor but were always told they were completely full and had no rooms to move us to.

First trip to Jamaica and wasn't disappointed. As I stated in the title the resort is small but in my opinion that's a positive. A short walk from your room to the beach or a bar or a restaurant. Staff was nice enough and helpful but rarely gave me a "friendly" feel like I felt in the Dominican Republic. That is very likely due to the Jamaican culture or the staff being rotated from one station to next everyday which made it difficult to develop a relationship with them. All told we enjoyed our time there. Wouldn't be opposed to going back but wouldn't mind seeing other places in Jamaica to compare it to.

01/16/17- I recently stayed at the Jewel Dunns River resort in Ocho Rios Jamaica for 4 nights. The staff were great, the views were spectacular but that's where the fun stops. There was literally no entertainment- the bar smelled like musty Chlorine- my Oceanview room was OK -clean but old. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable and the food was OK ... nothing spectacular ~ I certainly felt the experience did not justify the cost. Very disappointed. Some of our party stayed next door at the Rui and they had a blast and it was cheaper. Go next door!

Carpet does not belong in the Caribbean. The hallways all smelled like mold from the carpet. Our first room had a bed with no support, my husband and I rolled together in the middle. It felt like a toddler bed, it was so low to the ground. Every outlet in that room sparked when I tried plugging in my phone charger. The view was ok, but we were right over the roof of the restaurant below and there was stagnant water in one of the low points right outside our window. The room felt like a cheap hotel room, dressed up. The layout was unimpressive, and the decor seemed dated. The floor had hair on it and the tub (which had jets) looked like it had never been cleaned. The lighting in the bathroom was horrible. We requested to be moved after the first night in the first room, because the bed was so awful. This first room was in the diamond building. The second room was slightly better. We were moved to the sapphire building, but again we were right over a roof below. We lost our view of the ocean, because our room was only on floor 1 (which is actually the second floor). This room seemed better at first- the layout was more unique and seemed more spacious. Our patio was bigger and we had neat bistro style windows that opened off the bedroom. this room had a walk in closet as well. This room also had a low bed, and it was only slightly more comfortable. The room smelled of mold badly, from the rugs and fabric covered chairs. Food was boring and unimpressive.

Overall experience was great. The only compaaint is my room smelled like mildew.

I went on a birthday vacation with six friends. We stayed onsite every day but one, when we visited Dunn's River Falls. The location was perfect, only minutes away. One day there was a tropical storm but the outdoor covered bar was perfect to sit and relax at while the rain came down. The rest of the time we enjoyed going from pool to ocean. We also woke up and enjoyed yoga on the beach! The staff was very friendly and the resort had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation.

My husband and I have celebrated our wedding anniversary for the past four years at Jewel Dunn's River Resort. We've always had a wonderful time because of the staff, food, facilities, and impeccable service. This year, we invited five other couples to join us. Our friends had a blast! The only negative about our stay this time was that the air conditioner did not work in our room the first night we were there. However, we were upgraded to a different room on the second day. Overall, our stay at the Jewel's Resort was wonderful as usual and I can't wait to get back!

We stayed at the Jewel Run River Resort. The resort was beautiful,the area was spacious,so you never felt rushed or crowed. I never had a problem finding a lounge chair at the pool or the beach.
