It took me one single night to fall in love with Royal Riviera. This year, I came back for a 3 night family break with my mind full of expectations. Needless to say, Royal Riviera blew them all away. It must be the unique atmosphere, so chic and sophisticated, the inebriating perfumes filling the air, the kindness and attention of a truly dedicated staff...it must be waking up, well-rested, in a gorgeous room looking out to the garden and the sea...Royal Riviera is a place where elegance and luxury meet outstanding service; a home away from home located in the gorgeous bay of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, an exclusive venue where I always feel welcome and delightfully spoilt. Being impeccable is a natural attitude here, pampering guests is an authentic pleasure. If you have the chance, book a room with sea view in the Orangerie Villa and make sure you experience La Table du Royal for an exquisite Riviera-style culinary experience. Impeccable. #lifeonthetopfloor
Great position, fantastic views, hotel clean and all the staff very helpful. Food acceptable nothing spectacular but decent enough. Although good breakfast buffet. But The decor of the whole place is 70’s, tired dated and needs a complete refresh. The bathroom is cold, no heating or heated towel rail and tatty. Might stay again but would be second choice.
We are just back from 4 lovely days at the Royal Riviera. It was our wedding anniversary and we were spoilt by welcome gifts, a beautiful room with full sea view (217) and charming service by all staff throughout our stay. Some points that maybe of help. Although we did not use it, the pool is heated to 28 degrees in October and looked really inviting. Breakfast on the terrace is a real pleasure. Our room was large, comfortable and very well decorated. It was delightful to sit on our little balcony with glorious views over the bay. There are a greater number of rooms that primarily face the garden, so if a sea view is important make sure you ask for a full view. Staff are charming and helpful. Lovely walks from the hotel down to Cap Ferrat and to nearby VilleFranche. Bus service with stop within 200 yards of hotel. We went to Nice and to Eze and all buses ran to time. Only 1 franc 50 per trip. What a deal! My only minor complaint is that there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom. That apart, everything was first class.
This hotel is beyond words. We booked a Superior Sea and Garden view, which provided a great view and ample space. Both the bedroom and bathroom are well appointed and kept. We booked through 'Whatahotel' (highly recommend them too), which included buffet breakfast and massages. The beds are comfortable, views amazing, spacious room, and just a great place to relax. The pool is just as pictured. The lounges and umbrellas are new and super comfortable! Though you can't eat at the pool, only beverages. The pool restaurant is available, though it can be a little frustrating to get service...that is our only real complaint. We'd have to wait and wait to have service for lunch. And often felt looked down on for ordering tap water instead of bottled. Honestly the tap water is fine and less wasteful, and given our world's issues with trash, maybe offer tap water first and not be snobby about it. I'd also recommend checking which restaurants are open on which nights, unfortunately we missed out due to some closing. Workout facilities are nice, though skip massages-not worth it. This is one of the only hotels with direct beach access. Making this an added pleasure. When we visited the beach was clean and well kept, the ocean was clear most days, clear enough to snorkel half the days we were there. The beach staff will bring you towels, set up your chosen lounges, and set the umbrella to your liking. The beach area is private for guests only. The bar is fantastic! They offer a great selection, its wonderful place to sit and sip, and they even offered light snacks to enjoy while having a beverage. The breakfast is out of this world!! Everything you can think of: fruit, pastries, baked goods, cheese, meats, warm and cold items, egg station, a dozen juice options, and champagne (also a special gluten free section). The wait staff will also take your coffee order. I ate so many croissants, it was wonderful. You will regret not taking part in this buffet. It was the best way to leisurely start your day. We often walked into town, with stores and restaurants nearby. I'd highly recommend La Pignatelle, and Fabrik. Just find out if they're open...most the town is closed on Sundays. This hotel and place in general is amazing, the landscape is beautiful, the ocean is amazing, its easy to understand why so many people make this a vacation destination. Side note, we lucked out with a wedding at the hotel with fireworks. Wow, were we lucky to experience that, what a sight and congrats to them!
My wife & I just spent 4 days at this wonderful hotel - and had an exceptional, deeply relaxing time: warm, personal and professional service, delightful and reasonably spacious room in a modern style, incredible views and consistently very high food quality. We particularly liked the attention to small things, e.g., the nice "japanese style" slippers in the rooms, the quality of the sunbeds and sunbed covers, the quality and feel of the curtains - and the overall outstanding quality of the food ingredients. Many dishes were "simple", but with of highest quality also on the buffets. Same applied for the omelettes in the morning, which actually had great fresh ingredients and real taste, much better than what other "top" hotels create. A few things could have been better - as anywhere there is room for improvement: there is only one small elevator, so wait times can be annoying if you are on a higher floor. In the room, while the matresses are rather hyper-soft (they seemed similar to what I had in other LHW hotels), the feather pillows were hard (even after I requested additional ones) and not of a "fluffy" quality I would have expected. The shower "glass wall" transforming the bath tub into a shower is MUCH too small, leaving the bathroom inundated after a real shower if you are tall like me. And last but not least there is a bidet with a soap, but no towel hanger / separate towel for it to use... Location is fantastic, the pool is large enough and heated to 27deg C, the public beach is nice and easily accessible in less than 1 min walk right in front of the hotel, and transport is super-accessible: bus stop to Nice / Monaco etc is <100m away, train station in 10 min and very helpful concierge can help with anything else. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - while I still had meetings the first two days at the hotel, I felt more relaxed after the remaining 1.5 days than I had often after 4-5 days in other places. The whole relaxed luxury and professional staff really made the difference.
We definitely want to go back! This small to medium sized hotel sits in between Monaco and Nice, a welcome spot to splurge for those who like things a bit quieter. The private beach is fantastic--protected and intimate. Swimming in the Mediterranean is just steps away from the hotel. I am an open water swimmer and was able to easily find good swims (very clear water) from and near the hotel. Wet suit optional in early October. The hotel beach includes a shower. The rooms are luxurious, quiet, clean and well kept. We were in 118--a deluxe sea and garden view room with big windows and morning sun. The highlight of the room was the private outdoor patio with a wonderful view of the beach and sea. Service was excellent in all areas of the hotel--Nicolas at the Concierge desk was knowledgeable and efficient. We enjoyed two delicious dinners in the hotel restaurant, again with excellent service. For walkers or runners, the path around Cap Ferrat has beautiful sea and neighborhood views. That path starts right outside the hotel.
This hotel is very conveniently located in St. Jean Cap Ferrat. The common areas are pretty, but the room we had was average. I would not consider this a luxury hotel. The spa is dated and in a basement. The pool is average. The dining area is nice with a lovely veranda with a beautiful view. There is a nice and convenient pedestrian path from the hotel to the small town center. The staff was friendly.
Again we went on holiday in June and at the end of August to RR ( the Rolls Royce of Hotels). It never fails to let you down and year after year offers an incredible service to its guests. The location, pool and private beach cannot be bettered. The loyal staff who return year after year together with new staff members could not serve you and look after you better. The breakfasts on the terrace are simply the best anywhere and so the days always start off with a highlight. All the food whether served in the Jasmin Bar or at La Table du Royal is of the highest quality and beautifully cooked and prepared and there are always some fine wines to accompany it, particularly the Rose Wines. Thank goodness the extended Fitness Centre is there to work off the additional weight being put on daily although it usually takes a month of serious exercise after we get home to get back into the shape we started the holiday in !! A big thank you to everyone at RR and looking forward to seeing you all again next year
This hotel is out of this world. The staff, the setting, the food, the location - everything is perfect. Arnaud the pool guy was amazing. The service at the hotel is truly five star. I honestly can’t fault it in anyway. We can’t wait to go back next year!
Hotel and concierge are the best. A big shout out to Fabian who was always ready to help. Property is meticulously clean and is central to anything you wish to do We had a really wonderful trip and cannot think of a better place
