We arrived at 4:15pm. Check in closes at 4:00pm. I called the numbers listed at the office and after 45 minutes got the room. The room is average except for the bed which was excellent. We would stay there again but be prepared for dogs barking at 2:00am and chickens crowing alnight.

No A/C. Came by on a Saturday. On Molokai everything closes early. Including the check in here. Check in info is left in a box. Have to call a phone number to get the lock box code for the keys. Other than that it's simple. It has ALL the necessities and it's clean! It's best to open the windows because its hotter inside. Next time we will buy eggs and stuff to be able to cook a real breakfast. We just went with microwaveable say first since we didn't know what to expect. Chickens are plenty and roaming around the back area. Swimming pool looked nice although we didn't try it. Beach supposedly isn't really swim able either. Our local friends said the beaches on the east and west sides are much nicer and will definitely go to next time. Island is beautiful and really country. No mainland stores if that's what you're used to. Respect the land and the locals and you'll be fine!

After traveling 40+ years for business and for pleasure I can truly say that this was far and away the most disgusting room that I have seen. The bad news is we arrived at the property at about 5:00 PM and the office is only open in the morning. We had to ask other residents where the office is located since it is not well marked. They told us where to look and to look in a box for information to get a key to the room. Unfortunately there is no person to meet with if you have a problem. There was a person to tell us the code number over the phone to get into the room but they were unable to address the filthy nature of the room or offer another room. When we opened the door, the carpet was VERY DIRTY. It appeared that someone had lived in this residence for many many years spilling various food products through the years. Unfortunately, it appeared that when they moved out the Landlord did not believe it was necessary to clean the carpets in the living room or the bedroom before offering this room for sale. Since we could not talk to anyone about another room, we chose to find another hotel to stay in since this room was not fit for people to live or sleep in. I did leave multiple voice mails with my cell phone number explaining what we thought and nobody from the office ever did call us to offer an alternative. Based on this room and the lack of management response it would appear they truly don't care. As I shared my experience with others on the island it appears that this property has a history of issues since many people I talked with related stories they have heard of other tourists being dissatisfied with this property.

I really enjoyed the stay in this Hotel. I booked a room and i got a real apartment which i didn't expect but it was great and clean. The surrounding is very nice. Due to the current the seawater was a little rough and dirty but that was not a big problem as you could swim in the pool even though it isn't very big. The only negative point, the office of the Hotel is in the City so as i arrived at the Hotel i had to return to the Town to Check-in as i didn't had this information. Overall it was a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay very much - were able to change rooms when the first was not quite what we expected - pool and beach were lovely - second room did not have as much in the way of kitchen supplies as the first but overall was a good "home base" while we explored the beautiful island of Molokai.

As noted before, this "hotel" is actually a condo complex with individual owners who rent out. Our condo was pretty worn, though adequate. Other family members had a renovated condo that had fairly nice appliances, furniture, etc. Cleanliness wasn't the greatest. However, the bed was comfortable, and the linens fresh and clean, and it was a perfectly good base for exploring the island.

But only problem was getting food no restaurant in place or near by

I would recommend this hotel to all my friends. Our stay was very enjoyable and peaceful.

Molokai is an island that has a lot to offer the traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and the bustle of regular tourist locations. On Molokai, one is forced to sit back and relax and enjoy the view. The Molokai Shores provides that opportunity. The condominiums are individually owned and individually furnished and have a warm and homey feel about them. They have everything necessary for cooking and entertaining while enjoying a great view. Sitting on the balcony of the units and being mesmerized by the swaying palm trees and the ocean view is what is on offer at breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as during many other hours in between. This is one great place to relax.

The staff at Castle Molokai Shores was very gracious. It could use some renovation and probably a good cleaning. Carpet was dirty and we cleaned the bathtub. Kitchenette was adequate and clean. Due to the location and limited supplies - most is understandable.... enjoyed staying in the condo. They could use a coffee shop and snack bar.

Has maintenance issues. Light and overhead fan switches not working. Needs a "facelift", ie renew carpet. Headboard was not secured to anything and flops against mattress. Lever on shower spout that directs water to the shower head did not work properly. Could not adjust the speed to the overhead fans. FYI, there is no daily maid service. However, the staff was excellent.

The first item of importance at this particular condominium complex is that each unit is furnished and maintained by an individual owner. Some are substantially more comfortable and complete in their providing of amenities than others and you do not discover the difference until you arrive. Our particular unit was perported to provide a queen size and two single beds. In reality it became a queen and a convertable couch. There was no air conditioning and the ceiling fan in the living room was inoperative (this was replaced w/o a hassel on the third day of our stay) There was no maid service so you launder your own towels and sheets at $1.50 per load ($.50 for 15 min drying) and there was no hair dryer or stand alone fans which are a necessity on the hot, dry side of Molokai. The staff is great, friendly, and very helpful while you are attempting to survive. The view and grounds are gorgeous, and the parking convenient. Once we adapted, we enjoyed our stay, no matter how primative.

When we checked in, we were faced with a rude staff. Upon entering the condo, a sign on the door requested we take our shoes off. What a joke!! The place was a dump; stained bedding, broken mattress, broken furniture and filthy, disgusting bathroom. We complained to the management, who was sympathetic and upon learning that we were going to sleep in the pool chairs, offered to change our room. (previously we had complained to the on-site unit manager who said there were no other rooms available)We did have a room change, which was very slight improvement, but anything was better than our first unit. [...]

This is not a hotel, but a condo complex that rents peoples places. The apartments are larger then your typical hotel room and all have full kitchens. The complex is literally right on the beach. The grounds are very nice, but the thing that is really remarkable are the sunsets.

I relaxed did some sight seeing and writing.

Really enjoyed ou stay. Would definitely stay there again.
