We looked high and low for ice. Found 2 broken ice machines. When looking for staff in the middle of the night to ask them where to get ice, we couldn't find anyone. Still don't know if there's ice to be found.....

it was ok. the price was good. free parking was nice. Should add a free breakfast to the hotel

This hotel is currently receiving badly needed renovations. It will be nice once it's updated, but construction was a little noisy/dusty. I hope they are replacing ALL of the carpeting, the walls and furnishings also we're in bad shape. Staff was very kind and made our stay pleasant despite the construction.

Staff were so nice and helpful. Shuttle service is available to take and pick you up to and from various locations near the hotel. o Our initial booking was changed, so they gave us free vouchers for an excellent buffet breakfast. The room was great. The staff everywhere from the restaurant to the shuttle driver were so friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

About the only nice thing I can say about the Metra hotel is that my bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. When I came back to the room they had clean the bathroom and made the bed. Other than that it was not a nice experience. I'm a blonde and there were black hairs in the shower before I even stepped in. The carpets were heavily stained and looked filthy. The walls were so thin I could literally hear the conversation going on almost word for word next-door at 12:30 and 1 o'clock in the morning. Tons of noise going on outside till very late at night. And when my friends dropped me off Saturday night as we pulled up there were so many rather sketchy looking customers hanging around both the front and the entry of the restaurant bar that I asked the father to please walk me to my room and was worried about him getting back to his car safely. Online it looks like a nice hotel it's in a very bad neighborhood. Wished I would've spent a little extra money and stayed in a safer area. Didn't know this one was bad.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Not bad for the price. The place is going through renovations so, hopefully, it will be better soon.

Rooms were nice and overall the stay was good, but carpets need to be cleaned or more likely replaced.

Housekeeper needs to knock before entering the room.beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was kind and friendly.

Mediocre hotel, affordable. My keys worked kinda wonky and my room was pretty standard with stains in the carpet.

The proximity to the Xcel Energy Center and the complimentary shuttle were great! Highly recommend this hotel! Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed two nights in a regular (not executive) room on the fifth floor. The king sized bed was comfortable with sufficient sheets and blankets and was tidied up nicely between the nights of our stay. The room also had a fairly comfortable couch which was a good feature. Overall, about what you'd expect for the price. Our room was right off the elevators so it was a little noisy in the morning, but not too big of a deal. The blinds/curtains were a bit of a struggle to figure out, so if you require true darkness when you sleep then watch out. I couldn't figure them out, but a friend staying in a different room said he did. Overall, the location was convenient and never took us more than about 10 minutes to drive into downtown St Paul, which we did several times. The rooms were okay. My one complaint is the shower didn't have very good water pressure, which was a little disappointing. But everything was perfectly fine!

Quick trip to UMN to visit daughter. This hotel offered everything we were looking for: comfort, quiet, and budget friendly.

I was impressed with their honesty and friendliness. I prepaid online and when I go there they stated they ran out of the normal guest room so they upgraded me and my husband. The bed was fantastic and the pillows were actually nice! I have only one concern and that is why I was charged another $15 without me knowing. I noticed it on my bank statement. Other than that I enjoyed my stay and will return!

The stay was good but I think I got charged twice cause another 179$ was charged to my credit card on top of your fee not sure if that's right or not

Great place and staff .. Will consider this stay again !!

I stayed at this hotel for one night when I walked in I was amazed it was so big and beautiful I stayed in the room on the seventh floor it was a standard room a little bit small but nice I had a double bad I brought my two children with me and we went to the swimming pool it was a great great pool I definitely would recommend staying here again. Location is really nice very close to downtown St. Paul and close about 20 minutes to Minneapolis

Very easy to make a reservation at the last minute. Great staff, nice room, just when I needed.

Perfect location for early meetings at 3M HQ. Breakfast service very simple and not the best, worse than in some other H Inn's. Room very large and comfortable!

The hotel exceeded my expectations, both in terms of value but also in terms of the quality of service. The staff bent over backwards to assist me and my colleagues. It was clean, comfortable, and I had no negative experiences during my stay. I will stay there again when I need to be in this area.

Beth, Thank you so much for your review! I apologize for the fact that there wasn't a working ice machine, and that no members of staff could be found. Unfortunately in the middle of the night, it may be necessary for staff to have to attend to things away from the Front Desk, and therefore be unavailable to give directions. Our Maintenance team will certainly address the ice machines. We are currently renovating to become a DoubleTree by Hilton. We would love to see you in the future as we go through this change! Thank you! Fred M. Assistant General Manager
