DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Minneapolis North3.5 out of 5.0

Have stayed at this Double Tree previously. convenient to the highway, although restaurants are a bit of a drive. Unlike many of the Double Trees I've stayed in recently this one is very nice and up-to-date. Will definitely be back. Only downside is that you have to ask for a cookie.
Rooms are tired and worn, badly needs a makeover. I am certain it was a very nice hotel in its day. I would not recommend that anyone stay here unless you are required to do so. On a positive note, front desk staff is very friendly and professional.
This is a very mixed review that is why I am giving it Average. Walk in the lobby is nice along with the staff. They upgraded me to a Hilton Honors room even though I am not. The elevator was the first sign if an hotel in need of a face lift. Elevator was warn down, and brass doors needed a good cleaning. All kinds of spots. Wood panels all beat up. Room was mostly clean, but again the furniture is beat up and chipped. Bathroom door top half was clean, but the cleaning person does not like to bend over because it had spots all over it. If anyone around you closed there door you knew about it. Very loud. Free breakfast that was good. I paid $100 for one night. Overall this place just needs a face lift, new wood and a staff that needs to bend over.
Housekeeping was terribly rude. Front desk staff ignored 4 requests in over 6 hours to please clean my room. Ended up cleaning my own room, changing my sheets & towels from the front desk. Noise problems the entire stay but no one from front desk would answer the phone in the middle of the night. Has to wake up and get dressed and go knock on neighbors door myself at 3:30am to get noise taken care of and stop teenagers from using luggage valet cart as bumper cars in the hall (on the Honors floor). Left a message for manager which was never returned during duration of my stay. At checkout she happened to be at front desk and I told her all the problems I'd encountered as well as the unreturned message I had left her and she said, "well your work is paying for your hotel room so what do you want me To do?" I though perhaps comp the nights stay for the one day I had to clean my own room or at least comp a $15 breakfast buffet but I got the e-receipt after checkout and the hotel charged me full rate for everything. I will NEVER STAY HERE again. Ever. I have written a summary to my corporate travel department and asked them to take this hotel off their preferred list if possible and to definitely never book me here again. I'm writing this review from another Doubletree two nights later in Phoenix (I travel a lot for work) and the stay has been amazing at this hotel. That's why I always choose Hilton but this Minneapolis location is a never again!
In town for competition. Beds great. Price paid for services received great. Cleanliness not so hot! Breakfast staff nice! 3.00 for a cup of coffee on the weekend though!! Would probably check out the best western next time.
There were some shady characters in the hotel. The room next to us was unruly and had to got asked to leave by security. Ran into 2 young people in the elevator who had just smoked pot - the odor was quite strong. I am guessing that the location of this hotel brings in some less-than ideal customers.
Michelle made me feel welcomed. Amazing bartender. I travel a lot and will return to your property due to the device. The food was very good and the beer selection was great . I love the cookies at check in
Dated property. Housekeeping very poor. Staff unfriendly at front desk. Plumbing and bedding old and worn. Front desk evening staff very rude. Management was accommodating however. Would not recommend this as a typical Hilton experience.
I had to select on box to rate when actually it deserves nothing! We stayed three nights while visiting our son everyday in the nursing home. We didn't travel to terrible far 5 hour drive but knew it would be a stressful stay with keeping our sons spirits up- of course we love Hilton hotels- when they are actually functioning under Hiltons standards. Avoid this hotel at all costs it does not represent a Hilton whatsoever! Customer services believes fixing a customer problem is throwing a free room in. No, not all customers want a free room or an apology that sounds so fake. When staff is lacking in good public relation this damages the hotel- there was nothing but stress staying at this place- at all costs avoid this hotel it does not deserve the Hilton name. Manager told us this is it there is no one else to help you-- your just gonna have to deal with it! So I'm dealing with it!
A good all in one place to hold a conference and to stay without extra travel. Good accommodations and staff was impressive. I liked the warm cookie at check-in. It was a nice place, there were a few oddities, but nothing major.
