Good, clean hotel a an actual breakfast, not just waffles and danishes.

I would not suggest this hotel. I was on the road and booked this hotel. Upon arrival I was informed they over booked. The front desk worker did assist with obtaining another room in another hotel which was ok.

Terrible! When we arrived there were boxes & mattresses all over the place. In the lobby and hallways. Outside the building they had countertops propped up with tools laying around, very unsafe! Our room had a broken light fixture & no knobs on the drawers, so we couldn't open them. The fire alarm went off twice at 7:20 in the morning & everyone had to evacuate. We were able to go back inside but the whole time we were there, the blinking strobe light from the fire alarm stayed on....enough to make you sick! Overall, not a good experience! We also didn't have any towels in our room!! It was way overpriced!!

Fun location to take kids. Indoor Water slide and hot tub.

Front Desk person was very professional and helpful. The whirlpool tub was a big disappointment. dangerously slippery, no traction, grab bars, steps etc. Just a giant awkward tub plunked on the floor. Desk lamp was broken. Disclaimer that they "would monitor bandwidth use"...code for we haven bad internet so don't expect any streaming o work.

My friend and I stayed at the AmericInn in Shakopee, MN when we traveled there for a music festival last weekend. Upon arrival we were very pleased with the prompt and polite service. We made our way up to the room and we loved the huge bed and big television, and of course the whirlpool in our room. We opened our window up to a nice little garden. We were hoping there would be a DVD player in the room, and we were disappointed when there wasn't but that didn't spoil the fun. It was very quiet in the hotel and very relaxing. Before long we found ourselves in the whirlpool, but to our dismay it did not work. The water turned on but there was no whirling in this pool. We were disappointed by that, especially since we had payed up to $35 more just for the whirlpool. We didn't complain though, it was still enjoyable. We made coffee and chilled in the room until we decided to go take a look around and found the pool area that we weren't aware of. A big water slide, lit pool, Jacuzzi, and kiddie pool with a huge toad's mouth. It couldn't get any better, especially since it was such a surprise to us. We had the time of our lives. We met others in the hotel who were all also very friendly. In the mornings the complementary breakfast with a large selection would get us up early and it was enjoyable. Upon checkout they were very kind and even gave me a card for a taxi service so that we could make our way back to the airport. Overall a great hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. Big comfortable beds, great service, great atmosphere, and a pool area that's loads of fun for all ages.

The hotel experience itself was OK. My big gripe is that I was under the understanding that booking online thru [...], I would get the best price.... NOT TRUE!!! When we checked in, I found out that I paid $40 more onlie!! Manager would not refund me because of the "fixed rates". Needless to say, I will not be going back there again. Lesson Learned. Call the hotel and get the price over the phone first!

We stay at the Shakopee Americinn every time we visit the Minneapolis area, because it is everyone's favorite! It is in walking distance to Canterbury Park (Horse racing, now FREE), and very short drive to ValleyFair (amusement park), Chanhassen Dinner Theater, and the MN Renaissance Festival, the places we go most often. We love the fun waterslide, and the fabulous hot waffles for breakfast! Also in walking distance are a Culver's restaurant (right next door) and a McDonalds (right across the street). There is a good-size gas/convenience store across the street as well. Located right on a main highway, it's very easy to find, and easy to find our way other places as well, due to it's convenient location. AND, they have free wireless internet in all the rooms, so I can bring my laptop and still keep up with e-mail, etc.

The hotel was great the children you couldn't here, the staff was very helpful and nice. I would stay again and I would recommend. The hotel was very clean!

Awesome, wonderful staff

This hotel was in an ideal location from Valleyfair. Just down the road. The management was very obligent when we needed extra towels and pillows. The pool was great with the water slide and hot tub held 9 (need I say more) We did stay more than one day, and I don't like waffles, (main choice) but I had bagel, ceral or toast. Hotel very clean. If you have an problems at all, the management was quick to service any of your requests. Nice hotel.

The AmericInn Shakopee is quite new (not more than 3 or 4 years old I would think) and very clean. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. It did not have the mildewy smell or the smell of cleaning chemicals so common in roadside hotels. The lobby was pleasant and there was a basket of apples and bananas at the front desk. The complimentary breakfast was good, and included waffle irons, which not all places have. A bit of a drive to Minneapolis proper, but I would definitely recommend the place.

I think that this would be a very nice place to stay as long as it was not during an extremely busy time of year. When I went the hotel was pretty well booked up and they were not quite prepared for the full house that they had. The room was comfortable and quiet, but could use a little better cleaning staff. The complimentary breakfast was great, but it was tough to get in to get it because of the number of people and the way things were laid out, and they also ran out of their hot items on one of the days I was there. Overall, the staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. I would stay there again, but would ask if they were expecting a full house.
