Forced to stay here for work. Totally old and outdated. No hot water for tub/shower. Lukewarm/warm at best. Was told by desk nothing could be done about it. Bathroom smells like old cigarettes. Glad my company has to pay.. because I would never pay a penny to stay here.
This place is terrible. No ac. Heat was stuck on. Pool was closed for the whole time that we were here even though they said it would only be closed for a few hours. Smelled marijuana all night. And barking dogs. Don’t stay here.
Worst experience ever, rude workers, dirty rooms and they told me I could pay cash when checking out, charged my card anyway after I told them not too, moved rooms 3 times, they told me I would get a discount never happened. Would never go there again... and if you value yourself please find somewhere else to go....
The GrandStay was a great place for a stop-over in Milwaukee. Not only is the hotel incredibly close to the airport, but it also offers a free shuttle there. Plus, it's in a super convenient location right by the freeway. It's quiet, and the rooms are quite spacious. The lobby and pool are nice, and the staff couldn't be friendlier and more accommodating. Overall, I had a lovely stay!
I wish I could give 0 stars this was One of the worst hotels I have ever been to. There was a party and our room bordered the event room the loud music and bass shook our walls until midnight when opening our window it faced right inside the party and there were kids banging on our windows and an adult party goer was staring in the cracks of our windows when I was trying to change our rooms was so full of mildew and moisture that our beds were wet. When we called for fresh bedding we were told they had no extra blankets there is green fuzzy mold / black mold growing off the ceiling. I woke up sick very very sick and I am sure it's from breathing in mold all night this place should be shut down. It's not even safe to sleep here.
The place is a dump. Staff are unfriendly and not helpful at all. The pictures of the site are deceiving; the first floor rooms look like they have patios but the doors are screwed shut. The pool smells like urine and chlorine and the parking lot is littered with garbage.
So, I booked this hotel because it showed a special deal on priceline....as a 3 star hotel at almost half price. Well...this is NOT a 3 star hotel. The lobby is pretty...but the hotel is very dated and is in serious need of updating. I needed a place to stay near the airport, and this was, but that's about it.
Hotel keys didn't work. Hispanic maids called someone to help, in Spanish. I called the front desk 15 minutes later and they said someone would bring me new keys. So who the hell did the maids call...? Room had a funky smell, maybe a hybrid of mold, stale A.C. air, covered up smoke, and the tears of previous customers. Breakfast was not as advertised. I think the word "breakfast" assumes edibility but not in this case. There were two tiny pans with a rubber folded egg thing and someone's idea of bacon. There was stale fruit loops cereal and fruit loops yogurt so Grandstay must have a deal with Toucan Sam...maybe that's what the hotel smell was from. Never. Again.
My husband and reserved a room through Hotwire.com and were given a room at the Grandstay Hotel. Upon check in we were given a room on the first floor. When we went to the room the door was open and did not lock from the outside. The desk staff was very nice and gave us a new room. When we arrived in our new room we noticed an odd oder. We used some air freshener which seemed to solve the smell. In our room there was a patch on the wall/ceiling above the air conditioner that looked like mold. The drain in tub was nasty. We were just ready to sleep and only being there for 2 nights with limited time in the room , decided to just deal with it. There are no fridges or microwaves and all the ice machines were out of order. All in all the staff was nice and we did not use the pool. Pretty sure we will never stay again
This hotel has a very nice lobby and that's about all. Our room was on the ground floor supposedly with handicap features... The room had no refrigerator, no microwave, not even a vent fan in the bathroom and the A/C unit sounded like an airplane engine. Leaving a "Maid" request on the door had no effect on getting our room cleaned. On several occasions I had to get my own clean towels even having to go into laundry and ask the employee working in there to help me... The exit door leading to the parking lot could not be locked so anyone could come in and out at will. The ice machine on the ground floor had been out of order and NOT working for several weeks prior to our arrival and was never repaired during our stay. The room next to us had a "Do Not Disturb" sign on it which was never removed during our stay and we believe an elderly "homeless" woman was using this room and we saw her at breakfast several mornings. She also gathered food for later in the day. The room across the hall had the door continually propped open (which we reported to the front desk...) which we also believe was being used by homeless people. Although the front desk denied the use of the hotel by the homeless, there were some very very strange people eating breakfast several mornings while we were there. People that were dirty with old tattered clothes and either stocking feet or barefoot. The outdoor marque boosts a "New Hot Breakfast"... I wonder what the old one was??? Cereal dispensers marked "Kelloggs" filled with cereals obviously not the brand that was indicated... A lot of what was called "food" ended up in the garbage because people were not really sure on many occasions what they were eating. "Mystery Delights"? It was rumored that this place was going to be renovated this year with another name change. Don't wait!!! DO IT NOW!!! Tear down this DUMP and start over!!! It should be noted that this hotel was reserved through "Booking.Com". and as a third party reservation you are not entitled to any discounts or refunds. Also during our stay some type of private party or banquet was going on. The music and "Thumping Bass" was so loud it resounded through all of the downstairs corridors and probably upstairs as well...
