I booked the hotel for two nights for my grandparents who were visiting me. At the check in we realized they didn’t have the passport with them and I asked if possible to send them later via email, the receptionist replied that if we didn’t show our documents there was no way we could access the hotel (is this the warm welcome Una Hotels extends to their guests?) I asked to speak to a manager and the receptionist replied he doesn’t want to see you and I could hear him talking on the back office, so after me asking again Mr. Nicola Quaglia, the general manager showed up saying: what isn’t clear to you? No documents not entering the hotel! I asked if he could understand that they had a long trip and are in old age plus it was late in the evening and i would have send the documents later by email and he replied:NO! And don’t even think that the money you paid is going to be refunded! I would have never expect this from a GM and especially if he is so rude to the guests what is the example he gives to his staff? So i had to walk my grandparents at the hotel where I was staying and they were way too understanding checked them in and I later send them the copy of passports by email. So I stayed instead at the una hotel mediterraneo. During the night it was cold and i asked how to put on the heating system and they replied there is no heating is still hot outside in October (the room was freezing as the housekeeping has left the air conditioning on). The wifi was bad so I couldn’t even work that night. I went out to the hotel to smoke a cigarette and at the reception i heard a couple of guests complaining that was cold in their room and i saw a staff member handing over blankets at the reception, horrible to watch that scene, they should at least have them delivered in their room. Breakfast was poor, in room amenities they had only one soap, i had to ask for slippers and thankfully i had my bodyshower and shampoo. Everything about the hotel was poor but most of all the service and the attitude of the general manager. The area of Porta Romana has many hotels, some of them new and definitely I am not booking this hotel in the future.
It’s quite central and close to Porta Romana subway station. The room is clean and spacious with all comforts but a bit noisy for the traffic until late. The staff is kind and available to store the luggage in case of city shopping. There is a rich breakfast even if the table where the food is displayed is narrow, sometimes difficult to reach and it becomes crowded easily. The quality/price rate is not well balance but if we consider the good location and life cost of this city probably it might be comprehensible.
This hotel provides a comfortable room and a luxurious bathroom, all very clean. Moreover, everyday when we got back to our room after breakfast, our room had already been cleaned. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and the coffee was good. The staff was very friendly. The location of the hotel was ideal: about 20 minutes walking to the duomo, about 2 minutes walking to the nearest metro station.
We spent 3 nights in this hotel which I chose for its convenient location both for Linate airport and the city centre (via metro - direct line to Central station too). Overall we were satisfied with our stay. Our room was comfortable although there was some noise from the street below. The bathroom was also satisfactory. Breakfast was adequate but not exceptional - coffee was very poor, the choice of cereals was limited etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are a number of pleasant local restaurants close by.
This hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Porta Romana metro station which is on a direct line to Centrale railway station, and only three stops from the city centre, so very conveniently located. It is modern - relatively new, and very clean. The staff are helpful and pleasant. There was free wifi throughout. Our room was nice with a comfortable bed, and the bathroom had natural daylight which added to its attractions, but extremely small - fine for a stay of one or two nights, but no more. However, I have stayed in other hotels in the Una chain, and you know what you are getting, and this hotel was far less expensive than most of the other Milan options. Breakfast was perfectly good. Would stay here again.
Desk staff welcoming. Room small but clean and adequate. Mattress too hard for me to sleep well. Breakfast what you would expect for hotel in large city, except coffee was vile - we couldn't tell whether it was tea, coffee or chocolate!! Good location.
I've recently visited this hotel for a business trip just outside of Milan. The hotel is comfortable and ideal for short stays. The center is only 10 mins away via Metro and thee are good restaurants in the area. The hotel is also just 20 mins away by car from Linate airport. Will surely revisit should I be in Milan

I had refrained from writing a review about Una Mediterraneo for about 3 months giving the hotel an opportunity to rectify the crime done by them, but now felt should do so for the benefit of other fellow guests. For my babymoon my husband and I decided to revisit Italy, and milan was definately on our list yet again. I was 5 months pregnant then and our main criteria for a hotel was centrally located, we booked it since it was a 4 star property. We reached Una and this is the episode of our first day there, we went for breakfast to the hotel resturant and i was carrying a sling bag with myself, which was with me all the time, while having breakfast i had kept the bag on the chair while sitting at the table with my husband, some man who was not the guest managed to walk in to the resturant, managed to sit across our table for about 10 - 15 mins and stole my bag and disappeared which had a lot of money all my cards the bag itself was worth a lot( this case is not unheard of in Italy) here comes the hotel bit. What the Hotel did to Help- • When we realized my bag was stolen, firstly noone at the reception or the resturant even bothered coming and checking what exactly happened, only after I started crying which was very natural as I am Pregnant did they offer a glass of water etc. • Whatever cash we were carrying was in my bag so when my husband went to the cops to register a complaint again we received the same cold behaviour from the hotel they refused to help us with anything, but we did manage to reach the cops and raise an FIR. • Once the cops reached the hotel I was devastated by then, my husband was being very calm as he had to constantly mange me as well, only 1 lady at the reception realized I was pregnant even though I kept on yelling it out to them from the past 1 hour or so, asked the cops to rush a little. • The manager finally arrived after almost 3 hours spoke to the police and decided to check the CCTV footage which cannot be done without an FIR. When they went to check the footage suddenly the manager realized the maintenance guy was not on duty on the day so the footage would be checked the next day ( Imagine our plight, not only would the thief have spent the money and sold everything in it he could have left the country by then.) • Next Day when we saw the footage • The man had walked into the hotel without any kind of questioning as the hotel has no security, got into the resturant no one bothered asking him if he was a guest or not ( where when you are a guest they check your room numbers and don’t give you a table till do so.) • Sat at the table for a long time observing and no staff asked him what he wants. He just sat for the longest time without eating or drinking even a cup of coffee and he was allowed to do so. • Then he dropped his jacket on my chair while picking up the jacket he picked up my bag from the chair and managed to leave the premises without being noticed. The Shocking facts – As per one of the hotel staff, This is not a first time an episode has taken place in this hotel the same had happened to another guest where his stroller was stolen still hotel has no security and absolutely no training. The next day when we went for breakfast again as we were staying in Milan for 3 days there was no notice up anywhere they allowed guests to leave their handbags on the table and go for breakfast so another person could be victimized. I literally went to tables requesting guests to be careful of their belongings which they were so grateful for. The hotel promised us their own hotel insurance company will look after our loses and they would do everything possible to help us. It has been 3 months now we have sent numerable emails called them several times, and have not received a single response expect 2 emails saying they cannot do anything we should contact the insurance company. When we call the insurance company they only speak Italian which is not our spoken language. We don’t expect much but the hotel staff should atleast do a follow up with the agency or have the basic courtesy and reply to our communications. Dear Guests we all know and have been warned how unsafe Italy can be but no one can imagine that something like this can even occur inside a prestigious property. I now feel the hotel staff was involved in this robbery where it has occurred before.
