Wonderful Hotel -Pocket friendly, Breakfast is Super. Rooms are spacious-Attach Toilet Good-Reception is good. Walking distance from Milan central Station. Room service is good. Local mEtro is also walking distance
A one night stay. On the 10th floor small slightly dated but clean room. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Delightful reception area with comfy seating areas. A great location near the Shops of Milan within a 30 minute walk. Only disappointment was that I could not have cream in my coffee for breakfast.
Flawless and hard to find negatives. Room was spotless with not a peice of dust anywhere. The view of central station was perfect. Walking in off the street with no booking the cost was 341 euro. It was more until I pointed out that I saw it cheaper on tripadvisor then they lowered it to match the online price. Location is right next to central station. Cost I find really expensive accross the board but it's a 5 star hotel so that's to be expected. The room service food needs improvement. Being a Chef from overseas Italian food interests me greatly and finally being able to eat real, genuine Italian food in Italy is high on my to do list. The hotel could endeavour to provide this experience a bit better. The 2 dishes I tried here were dissapointing. The osso bucco dissapointing because it was stone cold and the lasagna dissapointing because it tasted like a frozen meal out of a box and was also cold. The cheese sauce surrounding the lasagna was really bad as well and overwhelming. Another thing was lack of information about the services available. There was nothing in the room to read. I was curious about a few things but not sure if available or not. The tv also dissapointing. Not much on let alone much in english. A lot of the interesting channels that may have been english like mtv and fox were unavailable for some reason. Why not provide some international movies to watch for your customers? Its $500 a night and theres not even a movie to watch on your system. At checkin I asked how to get into town and they mentioned the complimentary drop off and pickup in the maserati. It was cool. If I didn't ask though I suspect I wouldn't have known. Also no talk of being able to pick me up again when I was dropped into town. Also found it odd to return from shopping to find housekeeping had somehow left a half drunk bottle of water in my room. It was not from the hotel and not one that I had bought from anywhere. These are all minor things that I mention not because they ruined my experience but so that you can improve your service. Would I stay again? Yes but I might try somewhere else first as 500 dollars is a lot for 1 night. Room was kind of small as well. Staff were all very pleasant. Bed very comfortable. Wifi fast and free.
We were not disappointed with this hotel. In fact we wish we had stayed longer. The overall serive was great and so was the food. We had pre dinner drinks and were pleasantly surprised to be given some nibbles to go with our drinks. Breakfast and Dinner was lovely. My only tiny issue was we had to wait half an hour to get to our room although we arrived after the check in time.
Stayed here for two nights, its like going back in time! hotel very clean, staff very friendly and helpful, good local knowledge but hotel in need of a refurb, old world elegance but very old and dated. Great breakfast lots of choice, good location for trains and metro. Comfy bed, asked for a quiet room, was on the 8th floor and it was an excellent location. Good choice for a short stop.
Convenient, near train station. Hotel is old but very well maintained and actually adds charm! Good breakfast (top coffee) in the charming breakfast room. Very professional and friendly staff. I will visit again when I have business in Milan.
We had a quick city break in Milan at the beginning of March and stayed in the Doria Grand Hotel. We were kindly welcomed by Charles and his team in reception. The room was nice and comfortable and the food and service in the restaurant were excellent. We walked to the centre of Milan through a park and loved the renaissance architecture and art. Milan is great for shopping as well.
We spent 2 nights at this lovely old hotel. Huge amounts of money must have been spent when originally fitting out the good sized rooms, because they are still beautiful and pristinely kept despite their age. The attention to detail is remarkable and charming. Even outside at the back of the hotel, where the air conditioning ducts are on the lower roofs, it is clean and well cared for. The staff can't do enough to help you and are polite and friendly. Although it isn't near the Galleria shopping and the Duomo, it is very near to Milan train station and taxis are readily available. I'd recommend anyone to stay.
The location of the hotel is very good. Walking distance from the central station. Overall the hotel is nice and staffs are very cooperative. Rooms are small but decent. The included breakfast is lavish.
Lovely hotel. Charles at front desk wAs so kind and helpful. He made us feel right at home. Breakfast was more than we had expected. Nice scrabbled eggs! We were informed it would be continental. Great bed! Slept well. Would stay again.
