Beautiful. Short stay. Was a little difficult to find because of the advertisement on the building across the street had virtually the same name. But it didn't have a GRAND entrance so we checked them out too and viola WE FOUND IT. It was hard carrying bags from the train stations to the cobble street hotel. But it was nice. The staff was friendly. The in room tea & cookies were good. We were close enough to walk everywhere. 90% of the food we had was bland in the area. I was told by the southern Italians that the northern Italians microwave their food that they sell. You don't smell food in the north so that made sense. So ask about the preparation of the food in nearby areas. See if it is fresh.
I recommend this place, perfect place to stay. We stayed there for 2 nights and we really enjoyed the stay. Good location- 8 mins from central station Clean and good rooms Breakfast is really good Friendly staff AC could be a better in the room.
The staff (Charles) was very supportive with all my requests about sourrandings, transportation, restaurants and all other necessary for a business tourist. The location is great and well connected to city center (just 4-5 metro stations) and also with the central station, airport and any other place in the city. It is the third time I stay in this hotel and I will come back again!
very warm hotel, breakfast lounge was boiling hot, breakfast was pretty good, enjoy the scrambled eggs and avoid the bacon if that is what call it, funny u cant get English bacon anywhere apart from England they seem to think the American version of fat fat fat with little meat does the job, well it don't, sort it out
We stayed in the Hotel for 2 nights after a couple of weeks cruising around the Mediterranean - Charles was on the desk & his friendly service and assistance with information was just outstanding The hotel is in a great location & easy access from the Rail station Thank you Charles for your service
We chose this hotel as it's walking distance to the Milan Centrale train station which was our priority as we were at the F1 Grand Prix for three days in Monza. The ADI Doria has a great breakfast buffet. We had dinner one night which was also very good! I understand why folks would say this hotel is old and outdated, but my husband and I thought it was charming and more importantly, clean and comfortable. The metro lines in Milan are also clean.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights. We travelled from the airport by train and the hotel took us just short of ten minutes to walk to from Milan Centrale. The staff were very polite and spoke English to varying degrees of fluency, but all good enough to understand us and make themselves understood. Our room was on the second floor over looking the rear of the hotel, so not much to see from there. It was clean and very comfortable, albeit a twin room (much to our children's amusement given that my wife & I were celebrating our wedding anniversary there). My only gripe with the room was the lack of standard power sockets: all but one were of a type customised to fit the lamps and other room devices, not the standard European socket. Nevertheless there was free wifi in the room with a good signal strength, and a very nice bathroom. Breakfast provided a very good set of choices and was managed by some very friendly and helpful ladies. In addition to being a ten minute walk to Milan Centrale, a similar amount of time enabled us to walk to Loreto Metro station from which the red line took us into the city centre, connecting directly with Duomo station for the cathedral and La Scala, and Cairolo Costello for the castle. We were also able to find a couple of very nice restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel both of which I've reviewed in a separate post. Our overall impression of this hotel was that it was somewhere we would happily return to. It's grand entrance and the fact that guests actually receive a physical key rather than a plastic card may be misinterpreted by some reviewers as "outdated" or "old fashioned", but our experience was entirely positive and the hotel's charm added to our enjoyment of Milan.
It my second time at this hotel, and we enjoy a lot! It's beautiful, clean and quiet. Very close to railway and in a good location: few meters to Metro, good shop of organic (bio) food and supermarket. And less than 10 minutes away from the best resraunt I've ever been to, Noblesse Oblige (and believe me, I'm very spoiled and picky gastronomically :))) Food and service were incredible, the chef's speciality risotto with black truffels were to die for! *_* Staff at hotel very kind, polite and attentive, willing to go extra mile. Especially big thank you to recepcionist Charles. We are very pleased and happy with our stay, we truly enjoyed and look forward to come again.
Stayed for three nights room and service very good staff where very helpfull rooms were cleaned each day breakfast was good recommend Easy access to the train main station and metro Hotel very clean and tidy throughout
The hotel was close to the train station which suited us. Trams and the underground were nearby so travelling around Milan was no problem. Unfortunately the hotel is a bit dated now, the room was compact and a bit musty. This was also the first hotel I have been to that does not have tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was disappointing. I was also not keen on the system of leaving the key at reception everytime you go out...and then having to wait until someone was free to give it back to you when you returned. Staff were fine and seemed willing to help although not many managed to smile! Overall the hotel was average and I would probably not stay again. Luckily we were not visiting Milan to spend time at the hotel!
