I booked this hotel on a recommendation and was looking forward to my stay. Last week however, I received notice that the airline I was flying with cancelled all flights to and from Milan. Needless to say, I was in disbelief and needed to rebook to a different city, a different date and obviously a different hotel. I contacted the ADI hotel after talking to my travel agent and was told I could not cancel, but after I explained my situation, ADI lived up to the reviews given. They were understanding and made an exception based on my circumstances. Mr. Carravieri got back to me right away and my card was credited. I am sorry that I will not be going to Milan this year, but I will go to Milan next time and will stay at this hotel that I was told is not only beautiful, but, that I now know first hand, has the customer care one would come to expect as a guest, in such a nice hotel. You are not just another customer here, you are seen as an individual. Thank you Mr. Carravieri!
A friend and I had to stay here unexpectedly for one night due to an error from the organisation we were traveling with. (it was a surprise vacation) when we wanted to check the service desk they asked for our credit card or if we could pay the guarantee in cash. this came as a surprise to us because we were not informed. even though this was not the fault of the hotel, they could have handled it more kindly. instead, I started to feel like they were just "bothered by another set of tourists." When we got to our room it was very dark and oldfashioned, we didn't even have a place to charge our phone next to the bed, or anywhere in the room. (we took out one of the lamps and the kettle) The bed was hard and I could feel the suspension, not so great. On a positive note, we did have an actual bath, which I enjoyed. furthermore, there was breakfast included, from 7 to 10, in buffet style. this tasted just fine, but nothing special, and also in an outdated room. there were services you could make use off, but this all cost extra money so we did not make use of those facilities.
What a glorious old fashioned yet lovely hotel. Breakfast was also excellent with a great selection and friendly staff. We were close to the station, for our onward trip to the lakes, yet close enough to do all the sightseeing we wanted. The tram stop near the hotel was an added bonus that got us across town at euro 1.30 each! We found some great local bars and restaurants.
This was our 2nd stay in this hotel, we were there 2 years ago and thought it was very good , but breakfast let them down This time it’s exactly the same. Our first floor room was quiet, comfortable and very clean Breakfast was very disappointing with a poor selection and no room to move . The coffee machine is in a really bad place with people queuing at it then you can’t get to the food. Last time we stayed the waiters asked if we wanted tea or coffee and it arrived at the table in a silver pot. Empty dishes weren’t replaced on the buffet fast enough. When we tried to check out we had to wait a while as only one person on reception - 10.30am! I had to ask if someone could check us out - there were plenty of staff in the office. So all in all I would give the Doria a “good” as it’s better than an “average” but it doesn’t deserve a “very good”. Trip Advisor need to change this 5 euros per person city tax now
This is a very good hotel in a convenient location. It is showing a little wear and tear now, but is still worthy of 4 stars. The WLAN is terrible (as is unfortunately the case in so many otherwise very good hotels).
Finally managed to have spacious room in Milano in good quality ! Centrally located close to Central station, decent breakfast, good quality of services and must say - Professional friendly team Would stay again at this hotel
very good hotel closer to metro stations wide rooms more than others hotel very clean friendly staff breakfast good and many various items my room view was not good but i liked the room what i dislike rooms not sound isolated so i can hear toilet water of next room or other guests talking
Great location, only a short walk from the main railway station. Reception staff were lovely, and the room was very nice, breakfast was OK but nothing special. We had dinner one evening which was very average with poor service; I had asked for some water but gave up waiting in the end.
ADI Doria Grand Hotel , is well located near Milan Central . It was an excellent experience . Rooms are are nicely decorated and very comfortable . Check in/out was very smooth . Staff is very nice both at the reception and the restaurant . Breakfast is nice & service great .
Doria Grand Hotel is the best experience of professionalism, care, comfort and kindness that I experience when I travel. And I travel A Lot for business all over the world! This is my favorite place to stay by far. In addition, I present workshops in their venue to a crowd of 75-100 people and the event staff are always there to provide excellent service. Truly, every person who works at Doria is a delight, professional and friendly. They have become my family away from home. You will not be disappointed! Dr. A Cutler
