Listen, no offense to the fine people of Odessa, but the clientele to this hotel is going to be primarily oilfield related. That being said, the hotel does the best it can in that situation. All of the staff I met were very pleasant. It is apparent that management and staff try to make this hotel a fine establishment. They have to make up for the deficiencies in the clientele. Sorry folks, the hotel is fine - as you can tell, I'm not a fan of Odessa. BUT if you have to be in this vicinity, this hotel is a good choice.
I want to personally mention Jase (Jaz?) at the front desk. After another hotel messed up our reservation, I quickly called the La Quinta North location and Jaz at the front desk was able to take care of us (we are a high school academic team and needed 5 rooms). She was quickly able to get us rooms and make sure our rooms to make sure that the adults were near the students. I have to say that I've always had a great experience with customer service at LQ and Jaz is the perfect example! The facility itself is first rate! I have always been a loyal LQ customer and will continue to be!!
This is not a rundown old LaQuinta. This one is clean, fresh and is one that you'd be OK with returning to,... I will be. There are a large variety of restaurants and a movie theatre within a short distances.
It took 15 minutes to check in and then when I went up to my room on the fourth floor the key did not work. I had to go back down and get the key reprogrammed. My second night I went to my room on the forth floor and again my room key did not work. I had to go back down get my room reprogrammed. Tomorrow I’m just going to stop at the front desk and have my card reprogrammed before I go upstairs. THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I STAY HERE!
I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks. I had an excellent experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were always clean, front desk was professional and there was breakfast every morning. On days we have to leave very early in the morning, the ladies would prepare breakfast early. I highly recommend this hotel. Only problem I see is parking
Stayed here for one night, rooms were decent size for 1-2 people but not for families. They do have hair dryers in the bathrooms and the breakfast was very good including a homemade waffle maker, boiled eggs, several yogurt choices and 4 types of juice. Breakfast runs 6:30-9:30 so whether you’re an early bird or like to sleep in you can take advantage of the good food. The staff in the lobby and around the breakfast area was very polite, 2 or 3 that passed by made sure to ask how my day was going and if they could get me anything. Check out is at 12 pm which is nice if you have an early morning errand to run before leaving or before your flight. This hotel is centrally located to several business offices including Oxy & H&P. Takes about 12-15 minutes to get to the airport. Would definitely stay again
We always stay at LaQuinta Odessa-North when we are in the area. We tried other hotels, but the beds were always too hard or too soft. We love the beds in all the La Quintas we have ever stayed in. We always get a good night's sleep after a hard day at work.
I stayed here for 4 nights for business. I slept wonderfully. Breakfast and coffee were excellent and with good taste. I had no problems whatsoever. The lobby and my room made me feel at home. I love the extra room in the bathroom with the stand-up shower. The employers were so nice and helpful! What more could I ask? You will be very comfortable staying here - accessible to places to eat and close to the highway to jump on to where you need to go!
The room was excellent and very clean. Bed is very comfortable and I got some of the best sleep here. Awesome hotel. I recommend this hotel to any and every pasting through and stay in the area, I will definitely being stoping back through here to stay here in the near future.
This is not a $300 hotel room. If that’s what you’re looking for (and I went out of my way to come here, expecting the $289 price to be reflective of the quality and amenities), this isn’t it. First issue: I found the hotel while filtering for places that include “restaurant”. When booking (local number via TripAdvisor), I specifically asked if the hotel had a restaurant and was told that it did. It was disappointing when arriving after a long day’s drive to find out that there was no food available, unless one counts vending machines. If you want a beer or glass of wine to relax with, you’re out of luck there, too — the downstairs convenience shopping is purely for soda and the like. The room itself is fine. But it’s just fine in the sense of being OK — not the other connotation. There’s a big crack in the wall of the bath, and someone’s idea of “fixing” it was to smear some clear caulk over it and call it a day. Not a big deal if you pay a hundred bucks for a room. Unfortunately that’s not what I paid. Finally, when waking up and going to make coffee, surprise! All that was present was multiple packs of decaf. Kudos to the front desk staff for responding instantly to bring some regular coffee packs up (and a fresh cup of coffee to boot— much appreciated and I’ve added a star just for that). Honestly, if it hadn’t been for the coffee thing, I might not have even bothered leaving a review. But that was the final straw. Being able to crawl out of bed and have a cup of coffee is table stakes for anything purporting to be “civilization”. TL;DR: this hotel is appropriately priced in the $100-140 range. If you see it for twice that, it’s not a reflection of the hotel’s amenities. It’s just overpriced.
