It was ok. Hotel smells really good. Jose was very nice and friendly

Good for a family as long as you don't need a lot of room. From front of house to concierge to poolside, everyone was warm, friendly, and accommodating. Could have had a few more people working there. Kids (5 & &) loved the pools and beach access.

No coffee in room, no coffee in lobby...front desk forgot to alert me when room was reday..kept having to bug them. Faciltities fine, Could be tweaked to really be a good hotel.

The National is a beautiful old Deco hotel that is on the nice part of South Beach (away from annoying hawkers), very close to Lincoln Road, and a short walk to Ocean Drive, if you really find it necessary to go there.

Very friendly. Decent room. Just felt room bath size towels beginning to fray a few had holes. Some days the housekeeping left plastic cups on desk didn't throw them out. Would return because of location and friendly staff.

It was an great trip for me and my friend. The staff is excellent. The long swimming pool is a little bit too cold. This is sad because no one is inside this pool. But this is the only negative point. Everything else was perfect. The hotel and rooms were clean.

From Anna aesthetic point of view the hotel is picture perfect it's full of such charm and original detail is a beautiful experience both the interior spaces as well as the backyard and pool area. When I reserved it came with two breakfasts which made it a homerun as it was really delicious and a great variety. My fiancé wanted a bathtub in our room did not have one so they quickly changed rooms and made us very happy and even added a bottle of champagne to our new room.

i had a terrible allergic reaction to something on the bed, not sure if its what they wash the sheets with or if it was bed bugs or what. my body is covered in bumps! and i made 3 trips to Walgreens trying to get different allergy meds to calm down the itching. i could even go to the beach the 3 days I was there :( I was so uncomfortable the whole time, I didn't even get a good sleep.

I had to change rooms 3 times. The first room was in the stair hallway and smelled like mildew, the next room had bugs in the shower then the manager upgraded us to q suite and the suite was nice. The staff was friendly.

This hotel was picture perfect; I had a city view room with nice open windows, very modern bathroom, amazing comfy king size bed. The hotel staff is immaculate, so friendly as there to attend to your needs. This hotel has a great pool area; And the staff on the beach are ALSO great, beach is in walking distance.! Overall GREAT

I had purchased an ocean view. Then the desk said " Ill upgrade u," for another $50 a night. It did not have an ocean view. When I mentioned it he became hostile and said he told me it was a 'garden view." I can say with absolute certainty he did not say "garden view." I have been going to Miami Beach for 26 years, average one to two times a year and have stayed in nearly every hotel on the beach and an ocean view room is always a priority for me because the one thing i love are the sunrises on the ocean. While it is true I did have a balcony and it was technically an upgrade from his perspective, it was not for me and he did tell me and sell me the "upgrade" and did say it did have an ocean view. It was also our 20 year anniversary and a milestone birthday week end and this same agent made a big deal about how he was going to do something special for us. Not that I was expecting anything, this was just fake graciousness to please me while he sold me another room and he did nothing other than make sure I knew he thought I was untruthful and that I agreed to a non view room for more money. I still had a nice time and everything was fine I just expect a view if I pay for it.

I have been a guest 3 times. The staff have always treated me and my friends very well. They have recognized me each of my subsequent stays and made me feel special.

On our first night we found a dead cockroach on the floor. On our second day we found a huge cockroach in the stairway. The bathrooms were gross. Dirty toilets. We will not be returning.

Very nice hotel. Not much character for handicap. (Rm decor)

Too much thumping bass in music played in pool area.

I live this hotel i recommend to everyone who first comes to visit Miami.

Quiet compared to the other hotels in the area that seem to be more of a party scene. A throwback to the 1940's experience (Sinatra music in lobby). Not a party hotel if you are looking for that. 4th floor room with ocean view not much view of ocean because of palm trees and building and other hotels blocking view. Room looked to be recently remodeled and in very good condition. All the staff was pleasant, helpful, and courteous. Room was cleaned daily with no issues.Thermostat temperature control did not work and seemed to be stuck on full AC. We froze the first night but were fine after we turned off the AC and left it off. Rooms are not very big (we had two double beds) so if you have more than two people you may be running into each other just to move around. Within walking distance to Lincoln Road, Espanola Way, and north side of Ocean Drive. Did not rent a car, never needed one with bikes for rent and most everything in walking distance to hotel. We were looking for a relaxing place to stay and chill at the beach. This was it. Most of the clientele were older, not many families or college kids but we stayed after most college Spring breakers were gone in the area. Note: This location is on Collins and it is the main road in Miami Beach with lots of cars, noise, people (partiers, tourists, homeless) and general activity going on through the night. If you have a room facing Collins you may have more noise. We heard nothing on the other side of the hotel.

My new go-to hotel when in Miami Beach. Perfectly located, old world charm, just the right size and the best staff.

excelent stay! great staff great bar with life music on weekends drinks are a bot pricy $20

I usually stay at Best Westerns because they're pretty good when it comes to quality and price. However, my family and I decided it would be a good idea to get a good hotel since we were visiting Miami and everything and the hotels seem to be pretty nice. The National seemed like a good option and a perfect location. The location is truly amazing. Miami beach is in the backyard. However, the hotel itself is horrible. The main lobby smells weird. There is a 20 dollar service charge every day for using the pool, but the pool isn't even open the full day. There's not even a complimentary breakfast! Also, our room was tiny! the hallway leading into the room could only fit one person in width so we would have to walk single file when we walked into the room. The bathroom, like the room, is tiny! There were broken drawers too. On our first day there, there was no WiFi. Really? I mean, even 2 star hotels have Wifi. I told one of the attendants that the WiFi wasn't working, and she said she would file a report. When we were checking out, I reminded one of the attendants about the report and ask if the hotel was going to do anything about it or if they just filed it as a formality. She said there was nothing she could really do about. When I mentioned to her that there's a certain expectation that a 4 star hotel should have WiFi, she decided to waive $20 on my stay. Really? That barely covers the tax for the stay. I once stayed at a Best Western, and when the shower wasn't working, they fixed it within an hour and gave me $100 in Best Western credit. Simply put, I would have been fine with this hotel if it were like a Quality Inn or a motel, but it's considered a four star hotel! It has rates of up to $800 a night, and I will never understand why someone would find this a place to spend their money on.
