It is with a heavy heart that I give this place a 3* rating. The rooms are good and clean, location is excellent and represent pretty good value for money. The hotel staff are friendly and obliging. The rooftop pool and deck are very nice. As said elsewhere if you want a quiet stay ask for a room near the rear as the hotel fronts on to the main South Beach drag. ( mine was at the back and fairly quiet). A minor quibble , it would have been nice to have coffee making facilities in the room. Based on this I would have given it a 4 star rating but.... In front of the hotel is an open air restaurant which is where you have breakfast. ( Apparently this is a separate business, not sure how that works?) It is a great place to sit and watch the world go by which is part of the reason you would choose this location. Breakfast is poor at best with the awful coffee that seems to be everywhere in American hotels and the sort of food you find in a cheap buffet. The restaurant seems to be a clip joint for unwary travellers, all sorts of discounts are proffered, free tequila, Half price drinks, discounts for hotel guests. On my final night after a tiring day and an early flight next morning I just wanted a quick cheap meal and an early night so I wandered outside, I sat at the table showed the waiter my room key. I had two courses ( salad and guacamole) a pina colada ( a massive swimming pool sized goblet turned up which I hadn’t chosen ) and a coffee and whisky. The total bill amounted to more than $100 including the already added on 20% “gratuity” and local taxes. No discounts applied. This was almost identical to the bill I had the night before from the excellent Joe’s Stone Crabs for a vastly superior meal and service. The restaurant devalues this hotel. I would stay elsewhere next time.
A decent enough hotel, with an excellent pool and Jacuzzi on the roof. The room was comfortable, with a stylish design. The problem is the noise at night. If your room is anywhere near the front of the hotel the noise from the partygoers on Ocean Drive is deafening and goes on until 2am (when the 2am ban kicks in, thank god! I wouldn't have got any sleep otherwise). They need to install double glazed windows, as you think you've left the window open, as the windows are so useless at stopping the noise. This is a real issue. I found the breakfast area quite small and congested, with little room for manoeuvre. The catering staff are excellent. The lady on reception was very rude to my wife one morning, when she shouted at my wife "Speak to catering staff if you need cutlery!". You should never talk to guests in a loud and rude manner like this, a complete no no. It wasn't a stupid request as we were eating in the reception area, due to a lack of tables outside. They need to learn to be nice to their guests or they will hurt their business. You could have a great time here, but be aware of what you're getting into.
We did NOT stay in the hotel. We ordered lunch , sitting outside, pulled in by an offer " all lunch items 50 off" . I heard a price discussion left side of our table ( French guests) when they paid. One hour later I knew the reason: they " forget" the 50 % off the bill- probably they try that with all their guests. I refused to pay the full price and the Manager changed it. 1 hour later I got so sick from the burger and fries ( which was rather cold than warm) that I was not able to go back to work. I had serious stomach cramps till following morning. Unbelievable! I will never go back.
I was in Miami for Labor Day weekend. This restaurant out of many on that street caught my group's attention because the menu deals were great and they had a pretty cool duo singing popular hit songs while you ate and had drinks. It was a great vibe overall. Service was slow but I guess that is expected on such a busy holiday for Miami.
Everything was GREAT!! It is a very nice hotel and perfectly located to everything in South Beach. A BIG SHOUT OUT TO YOU LILY. Excellent customer service! Excellent Suite with a beautiful bathroom! Excellent location on the strip!
This hotell surprised us. We just found a reasonably priced small hotell centrally located. Price was OK, size was perfect this is not the big monster hotels, and it is in the middle of the eye of South beach. All the bars and cafes just outside the door. Miami beach is just across the street, light shopping all around, in the streets. We had a double queen bed rom, with an good bathroom. Room was clean and fresh. The restaurant was closed due to less activity in the bars due to the hurricane Irma. But we were served an OK breakfast (not like European standard) at the neighbor restaurant. The pool on the top is small, but it was a nice place to relax. Personnel was nice and effective.
I can just strongly recommend this art deco hotel located at Ocean Drive. Arrived by car late afternoon and they offer valet parking, fine you pay for it but great service. At check.in we got such nice welcome and felt replay as valued customer - great job there. The room wasn't so big but good enough for three persons. Modern and stylish with good beds. Also the bathroom was in the same modern style. Unfortunately our room was on the side so we didn't have sea view. Nevertheless that wasn't too bad as they have a really nice roof top area with pool and relaxing area and from there you will get the stunning view over the beach and sea. The hotel also offer breakfast and just sitting some feels away from the waking up Ocean Drive is so nice. Seeing Miami Beach starting the day, I'll like it. You will also find a fitness room, fairly good equipped or you just easily cross the street for the morning walk/run in the park/beach. You easily reach further restaurants and shopping areas in walking distance. Can also recommend you to rent a bike (also just across the street) to do a ride down to the harbor areas and along the beach. Will certainly go back if traveling to Miami South Beach again.
My wife and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. The hotel was great. Staff was wonderful. Rooftop pool relaxing and unique for a boutique hotel. Beach access probably closer than any big box hotel. The restaurant was good but very expensive. Going to return again.
We arrived late and had a very warm welcome into the hotel. The valet took care of our car for us. Our room was on the first floor and a lovely guy helped us with our luggage to our room and explained the amenities. Rooms were big, spacious and clean. There was free access to computers and printers which was very handy for return check in etc. The rooftop pool is quite small but perfect for relaxing after a day out in Miami. Every time you enter or leave the hotel staff hold doors for you, which is a friendly touch! The beach is right over the road, you can't get any closer, and the bars and restaurants are EVERYWHERE! So you can go as close or as far away from the hotel as you want to. I recommend using uber when in Miami as its fairly cheap and easier/more convenient than finding somewhere to park. There are tour buses nearby that take you over to downtown Miami, where you can find Little Havana, Biscayne Bay and various sporting venues - I recommend visiting all during your time here! The Leslie hotel left a lasting impression on us and I would recommend to anyone visiting South Beach!
This is an ideal spot to stay when visiting Miami. We loved the art deco of the hotel. Staff is very friendly, rooms are very clean and modern. The only thing that we did not like is the breakfast : very basic and not so palatable. There are many places around to have a better breakfast. But this was not a big problem for us. We would definitely stay there again for our next visit. The valet service is top notch.
