Construction outside of room from 8a-6p. Really loud! Would not provide another room. Internet so slow not usable. Water in shower barely a trickle. Always out of towels in room and pool. Majority of staff unfriendly. If none of these issues would bother you, pool area nice & so is access to beach. Basically clean, but overall hotel needs updating except for lobby.

The staff is great. They have gotten much nicer. I stay here once a year. The location is good. Anything you need is nearby (food, coffee shops, shopping, pharmacy, ect). The grounds, pool, and beach are amazing. The rooms are older and not like hotels twice the cost, but they are fine. Having a balcony is great too.

very nice. excellent staff. wonderful pool...and right on the ocean. exceptional restaurant (not owned by the hotel)...great little bar and grill out by the pool (not owned by restaurant). walking distance to Publix and CVS and restaurants. super clean rooms...but they could definitely use new mattresses. and there's construction going on next door (on the North side). reasonably affordable...though you do have to pay extra for parking and that pesky 'resort' fee. my third March staying there...and would certainly stay there again next year.

Room was just cleaned, had to wait on her to finish, it was still dirty. Killed a cockroach in the bathroom, not the room I reserved. The entire staff is rude.

The location is good. There are many places to eat very close. Pharmacy right across the street. The pool area and grounds are very nice. The rooms are descent size. After reading other reviews, I thought it was going to be dirty. It was fine. The bathroom was old and good use renovation, but it was clean and usable. Staff is fine. If you are nice to them, they are nice to you.

It was a great location, nice beaches, clean place and the staff was friendly and professional, we had a great day/night little vacation...

THE HOTEL IN GENERAL IS VERY OLD COMPARE WITH ALL BUILDINGS AROUND. POOL AND JACUSSI ARE NOT WELL MAINTAINED. OVERALL IS NOT TOO BAD FOR THE PRICE. VERY GOOD LOCATION.

The location is great, right on the beach, and in a safe, convenient location. I'm sure this hotel was beautiful many years ago, but it is run down, outdated, and in dire need of renovation. Our room was not clean and the door to the balcony wouldn't even close! The beds are OLD and torn! The price was the lowest for this area so I didn't expect much, but I at least hoped for a clean room. I cleaned the bathroom sink myself as it was dirty! The resort fees and parking fees make it expensive for such poor quality. The restaurant had decent food, but I recommend you pay the extra money and stay elsewhere.

Well, this hotel is very nice, some of the rooms are equipped with a kitchenette. The only problem was the noise around the pool. There are MANY signs around the pool stating that no non-guests are allowed by the pool and within its area and no loud music or radio playing is allowed. Well... Saturdays and Sundays is when local Cubans are off, so they have nothing else to do than to hang around this hotel's pool all day and listen to their loud music blasting from their speakers. When I told the manager about them, he said: "If You don't like it, either check out of this premise or go to Your room". I then proceed to call the Police who just simply explained it was the owner's choice whom to keep and whom to prefer. Well, we spent almost a thousand Dollars for one week and were extremely disgusted by the manager's and Wilson's behavior. Do not stay there, unless You REALLY enjoy listening to wild, crazy and obnoxious Cubans!

Very nice location the pool and hot tub were great as was the ocean and view from my very roomy balcony. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The hotel could use a major renovation. The beds were not very comfortable and the rooms are not soundproofed. I could hear every word being said in the rooms next to me and in the hallway. Light shows all the way around the main and connecting doors. I could have spent about $150-$200 more and had all the same amenities at another hotel. But in the end I feel this was a good value for the location. Hopefully the owners will do a major overhaul on the property at some point.

Nestled between 50 billion dollar hotels still stands Great OLD Miami. 20 person jacuzzi. Large pool. Step from the pool directly onto great swimmable beach. Say hi to Andre at the front desk who gave me a free room upgrade. Gymnasium too!

Back to the 80s. The location of this hotel is very good but besides that everything was pretty old. You can smell the smoke from other rooms throug the air conditioning system. You can't regulate your room temperature because it is a general system. Pretty bad experience.

The room was clean, spartan, well-lit and comfortable. The sink drained one drop at a time. The shower was useless, a combination of cold water and woefully inadequate pressure. The worst surprise was at checkout, an $11 daily "resort fee" not included in what I paid through an online service. I will stay elsewhere on my next trip to the Miami area.

Kitchenette with stove and fridge, right on the beach. Simple room with good shower and balcony. FREE wifi, not available at expensive hotels, free shuttle to Aventura mall. Target tore in Aventura for overseas shoppers. Safe in room. Neighbors rather noisy, luck of the draw.

The hotel has great location. For us it was very convenient cause all Russian stores and restaurants are in walking distance. Also we rented a car and they gave us a parking space across the street that was giving us hard times because we have 2yo son. We had to pay for it and then my hubby needed to pay extra to get a valet parking in front of the hotel. Also the website said that we gonna have free breakfast which was included in our package and that never happened. The guy from the front desk said that it's usual thing that websites say one thing which is not real and it was said just to sell the package. Overall it was not very bad cause we got cheap price on that but we were expecting something better.

Good hotel, well located. Just in front of the beach and the bus stop just in front take you anywhere!

I stayed 3 nights at this place around mid april 2013 and the room was nice for the price. The beach and the pool were also pretty good. I would go back again.

Good location. Friendly staff. Not good gym it was closed. It is not new and fancy but it cost the money

Let me just begin by saying that I travel quite a bit and I do enjoy luxurious resorts. If your looking for a luxurious resort this is not the place for you. This is an old style non upgraded resort that really does need some upgrading. But what it does offer is a great staff who are very friendly and willing to make your stay as good as it can be. The location is perfect if your looking for a quiet laid back atmosphere. If you want some action just hop on the free shuttle offered by the resort or hop on the bus right across the street and head on down to South Beach. They also offer a free shuttle to the aventura mall. Once again the rooms are pretty run down and in serious need of an upgrade but they have a nice pool and the beach is beautiful. you do have to pay a daily charge for a lounge chair on the beach which I thought shold have been part of the accomodations but whatever.... It is what it is. So once again if your looking for luxury skip ths place, but if your looking for some relaxing down time and you don't mind the out dated rooms I would definately recommend the Thunderbird. To me it's a little gem hidden amongst all the newer giant high rises that are there now. Don't go on all the bad reviews alone because some of the ones i read were totally off the wall and I can't see how they can possibly be accurate.
