We ended up checking out and not staying. Wife and I did not think the place was that bad, but there were insects in the room and this freaked out the kids. I've known to expect this in and around Miami Beach (although the place we did end up staying a few miles north did not have this problem). The place is rather old (I'd guess 1950s) but, I thought, in good shape.

nice hotel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clean, quiet, and comfortable room!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needed to be in this neighborhood for one day. This was the best priced. Didn't use any amenities. (pool etc.) The staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean. Good Value.

Stayed here, as I was apartment hunting. The hotel is abit far from the action but that was ok for me. The front desk lady was more than accommodating. She went out of her way to help out in a relaxed way. Rooms are clean but just ok. They seen more like studios and the hotel owners should upgrade the rooms to be nicer studio spaces. Overall, clean but you better have a car to get around.

Our tip is right before the Thanksgiving week. So it's not very crowded. The room is tidy, clean. They provide free parking and location is very convenient to restaurants and beach.

This clean and comfortable hotel was really only missing a breakfast included BUT there was a coffee machine and refrigerator to make it homey (no micro, but OK). They were friendly and helpful (didn't get a chance to try out the pool - rain and thunder). DO bring your bike, rollerblades, walking shoes - there is a wonderful park within a half block on the beach side. I biked about 3 miles, not crowded, found Publix for groceries - Great time, would go here again when visiting Miami Beach.

quiet and clean, nothing special but a good quality/price balance, considering the position!

Pleasant facility and overall comfortable room despite having had to kill a roach, Was rather disappointed with the television. List of stations did not include any PBS station and also did not have MSNBC network. Pool water was very, very, very COLD! Would have been nice to be able to use particularly in the evening. Also disappointing, there was no breakfast (continental or otherwise) not even any coffee! Never stayed at any hotel or motel that did not have at least coffee in the morning. Microwave in the lobby was missing the revolving glass tray. When this was brought to the attention of the person at the desk, attitude was "nothing I can do about it and nothing I want to do either." Might consider staying here again, but more because of its proximity to where I was going rather than the quality of the facility.

We wanted a little "staycation" (from another part of Miami). Our priorities were cost, cleanliness, free in-room wireless internet, FREE and pretty abundant parking, a pool, and being able to walk to a nice beach, and that's what we got. We were there on Thursday and Friday nights, with a 3-year-old, at the end of June, and we just wanted to go to the beach, swim in the pool, watch a little TV, and eat at some interesting restaurants. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood, miles from the attractions of South Beach, and it's even 15 blocks to the nearest restaurants in North Shore (which, although less plentiful, were surprisingly good). We thought the walk wasn't bad in the evenings and it was easy to find public parking when we didn't want to walk. There's a quiet, pretty beach at North Shore Open Space Park about 1 block east, just across Collins, and the green space (and playground) were a bonus. The pool was a typical small-hotel pool -good enough for our purposes. The wireless internet was very reliable throughout our stay. The parking lot is completely open to a very busy street, which made me nervous walking out with a small child. The hotel seems to be under new management, which brings pros and cons. Cons: New desk staff who can't answer all your questions (particularly at night), new satellite TV service (for which the TVs apparently haven't been adjusted, as of now, but I saw flat-screen TVs in boxes in the office, so maybe they're in transition), and a crazy mix of ancient, old, and new furniture/appliances. Pros: the entire building seems to have been updated (paint, floors, fixtures, windows), daytime desk staff were enthusiastic and helpful. The manager who checked us in recommended a restaurant for dinner, with which we were extremely pleased -that was a good sign. The AC unit was very effective, both for temperature and for humidity. No musty smell, which is almost a given in South Florida hotels (cheap or otherwise), and I didn't see a bug anywhere. It's not a luxury hotel. Sheets and towels were spotlessly clean but not the softest, the coffee maker came with tea bags but not coffee and only one mug, the TV and fridge were old... but I willingly gave those up for all our actual needs, at a very affordable price.

Hotel is older and a little far from the action, but room was clean and the staff was extremely nice and accomodating.

THE HOTEL OVERALL WAS PRETTY DESENT. IT WAS THE RUDE UNFRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAD A PROBLEM WITH!

When we had arrived after a long day of flying, we found out the hotel had been overbooked that first night. All we wanted was to settle in and get out, but we had to go to battle for the first 2 hours figuring out how to not have 5 people in one small room. We were compensated with one upgraded room, so in the end it was fine. The hotel itself was great. Nice rooms, great cleaning service. It was about 15 blocks from restaurants and activities, but it was a nice walk there. Great public transportation available right across the street. It was $2 to get anywhere on the coast (about 15-20 min ride to South Beach).
