Hotel Geneve Ciudad de Mexico

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Road and sidewalks in front of hotel had large holes and full of mud because of construction. Sections of the sidewalk were missing other parts had large sections of mud. Receptionist wanted to charge an extra $50 at check-in taxis had to drop us off a block away because they could not get to the hotel because of the road conditions. Overall experience was terrible because of the road conditions and the sidewalks in front of and near the hotel Website had no mention of the terrible road and sidewalk conditions. Or bits had the hotel rated at a 4 out of five. If this hotel is a four out of five then what is the Saint Regis or the Sheraton? The Sheraton and the Saint Regis should be rated at five then this hotel should've been rated at 2.5. Front desk was very rude when requesting room service.

excellent time, very happy with the service, good location but wait until they fix the street if you have a rental car.

It was a very fast check in, the staff was friendly and every single spot of the hotel was clean and had a detail.

Very convenient. Will be even more so when roadworks in the Zona Rosa are concluded. Excellent restaurant.

100% recomendado, servicio al cliente inmejorable, excelente ubicación. Sin duda regresaría una y mil veces,

We opted to stay in this classic hotel rather than a contemporary one because DF is filled with so much history. It was a great choice! The interior is so beautiful and almost feels like a museum with all the showcases of items. We got stuck on the smoking floor unfortunately (not sure what happened with our booking since we specified "non") but luckily it became no issue since there wasn't any smoking smells at all. I speak Spanish fluently, but regardless everyone staff-wise was super attentive and friendly! They made arrangements for us and we had a driver named Sergio for two of the days. I would definitely come back!

Excellent location, clean, friendly staff. Food very low quality. Unhappy with expensive breakfast!!! We had breakfast at hotel first day only. We had breakfast outside the hotel even thought we had already paid for breakfast. Food is dissaponting!!!

Centrally located. Very romantic decor like the early twentieth century. TV options rather limited

We prefer to stay in historic/unique hotels which drew us to the Hotel Geneve. Overall, we had a "good" experience; there was nothing negative that happened, however, there were little quirks each day (not re-stocking bottled water; having our room cleaned very late in the day; confusion on laundry service) that by the end of our stay we couldn't say it was an exceptional experience. One recommendation is that if you plan on staying for more than one night pay the extra cost and stay in a larger room. We choose the basic room for four nights (2 adults and 1 child). The room was very small, including the bathroom, and it got very claustrophobic really quickly, which made the little quirks seem even bigger. Location was excellent - just a few blocks from the metro.

If you want to experience a piece of history while visiting Mexico City, this is the hotel to stay. Awesome and friendly staff, magnificent decorations. Located in the Zona Rosa, close by major attractions.

Close to restaurants, easy access to turistas transportation, amenities, etc

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. We love the location, front desk service and lobby, but the rooms and hallways are rather drab but serviceable. Problems with staff entering our room without knocking (4 times) and aggressive cleaning staff who start knocking at our door at 8:00 am and continually asking in the morning if they could clean our room (before 10:00).

The hotel was beautiful but it is located on a very busy main street (drag) and it was NOISY, LOUD AND with no airconditioning - it was important have the option to open the windows - well since they located us right above the main drag - it was TERRIBLY loud of cars honking - music blaring and tons of people partying. This could have been avoided by locating us away from the street but were not given the option. I would NOT stay here again.

The entrance is grand. So is the library, which is a fun place to hang around. The whole downstairs is wonderful. Our room was a "junior suite". Roomy enough, but the beds were soft. Fine for the kids, not so great for my old back. The ac needed attention, it was OK once they worked on it. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Central location. Every convenience available. Helpful and courteous staff. Half hour to airport. Clean and safe. Room OK. Beautiful antique decorum.

Great experience in this Museum - Hotel, excellent ubication, nice restaurant and bar

Made an trip to Mexico City for a family emergency. Made the booking without much forethought. Was pleased by the accommodations and friendly staff and value for money spent. Lots of interesting stuff nearby within walking distance.

NO wifi in room 356. Very weak signal. Hair on the shower, cracked walls, small room. Not worth it.

Pretty good, just a bit scary at night, some homeless people are around.

rooms very clean and beds comfortable problem with key cards could not access room several times and had to have them reactivated only received water first night free otherwise you had to pay for it stayed 6 days and the internet service very bad
