I stayed at this hotel with my 3 other friends in September 2015. We had a 4 bed room on top floor with an access to a great huge terrace overlooking the beach. The room itself was divided into two parts, one space with double bed and one space with 3 single beds. Room was clean but quite basic. The view from the small balcony was incredible though. Breakfast had amazing selection of pastries and cakes and very nice coffee, as I have a sweet tooth it was a great breakfast for me. You can sit at the terrace overlooking the beach and soak up stunningviews! Beach is across the road and the main Taormina centre is 20min walk up the stairs. It was a god value for money and I would recommend this place to anyone who want to stay in Taormina, close to the water and don't spend a fortune on accommodation.

Fantastic room with a view. Unfortunately couldn't get a balcony but the view was stunning all the same. We were very impressed with the room. It was styled nicely with full turn down service daily. They even picked up on the fact we preferred two pillows and added accordingly. The fridge was very useful. We were slightly disappointed with the twin bed situation, as opposed a double, however they had positioned a double sheet over both so they didn't move too much and wasn't really an issue. Reception were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We have just returned from a week staying at the Jonic Hotel. we had one of the superior rooms at the top of the hotel with a large terrace with sunbeds, table and chairs which was really good. The view is amazing. The room was very good but I would say that the bed is rather hard and the walls are not very well insulated so you can hear conversations from the adjoining rooms as well as hear the adjoining room shower being used and it is quite noisy. The reception staff were excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable and always on hand to answer any questions and they also arranged our trip up Etna. We would also say if you do only one thing that is go on the Etna sunset trip. Would recommend this hotel.

Very Lovely hotel, small But clean, very friendly staff, location great nearby the beach, and cable car. our room was very clean but shower a little bit on the small side.Beautiful views from our room, pay a little bit more and take the room with big balcony room 43. , there is a table and chairs and 2 long chairs for a lovely wine at the afternoon looking over the beautiful bay of Mazzaro. breakfast is also very good,Cappuccino,Tarts Rolls Cheese,Ham,eggs ,Salami, and much more .The only Negative was that the cable car was not working because of the G7,but this is not the hotels fold,go there and EN-YOU ,Romantic lTaormina and Mazzaro beach Jeanne&Domenico

The location of Jonic Hotel is fantastic! The room was a lot smaller than the pictures show but worst of all was the very bad smell of the bathroom! The sewage smell from the drains made being in the bathroom unbearable. The room itself was ok but not very clean, the floor was very dusty. The view from the room of the ocean was spectacular and the breakfast was ok. The noise from the train running just below the hotel and the traffic was not good! You will need to pay €10 to park the car near by and parking was a bit difficult. This is a very busy stretch of the road. We walked up the stairs to Taormina (cable car is closed at the moment for the upcoming G7 summit). We wished we had decided to stay up in Taormina instead of being on the ocean front. The views were spectacular from up there.

I have gait challenges (stroke); accom. has to be convenient to shopping and/or sights, parking Stunning views, a great find - near Isola Belle beach, beach at Mazzaro; staff very welcoming; quite basic but comfy rooms, all facilities in working order. Good breakfast. Location is perfect. Only moments from the cablecar/gondola to Taormina. We could be zipping around the countryside (parking available), or go up in cablecar Funivia and walk Corso Umberto in Taormina - awesome Taormina: shops and restaurants, more incredible views. Or return to Mazzaro for dinner. Glorious views - value for money.

The staff were absolutely rude and threatening when I mentioned the terrible stench of drains that made it impossible to use the bathroom. They acted arrogantly thinking that booking.com would oblige us to pay the room rate. I was a young woman asking for something to be done about the stench and also about the light flooding the room from the hotel sign over the road. The night guard got aggressive and supercilious, knowing as a young woman I would be powerless to move rooms at 2am. Next morning the staff lied about me having raised the issue, while I was speaking to bookimg.com, and again got arrogant, patronising and insulted and embarrassed me in front of the hotel manager and other guests. The hotel manager stood all the whole looking down his nose the whole time at my friend and I. I only assume he thought we looked young and foreign, and that we would be powerless to do anything about the abominably bad service, treatment and room comfort. Needless to say this absolutely ruined our trip to Taormina which is undeniably and cute, pretty and spectacularly situated town, albeit touristy. There is a somewhat patronising and supercilious attitude among many of the establishments of Taormina; given its popularity some of the proprietors act as if they're doing the tourists a favour in giving them a meal or room for the night, when Sicily is full of spectacular places to stay, as is all of Italy, especially the South. The restauranteurs and hotel proprietors don't have a right to your custom, so you may be sell advised simply to go somewhere else. This attitude reaches a peak at the hotel Jonic. Don't go there, your holiday/ work trip will be ruined... All in all, a compete disappointment, and an insult to good-natured explorers, who were keen to learn more about Italian history, culture and landscape. Booking.com only allows a minimum review of 2.5. This hotel deserves zero.

In our room we could hear the radio or TV from the other rooms and the toilet flush from the rooms above. The Hotel is located close to see but also next to the railway and the rode. Thus, the pleasant sound of waves is contaminated with traffic noise. However, you have the Isolated Bella in the walking distance. All in all, quite noisy environment.

The location is perfect, close to the beach, near you can find mini-shops. Be aware that close to this hotel, there is the beach named Isola Bella, that is very very nice for doing snorkeling! It is close to gondola, that goes in the mountains with very cool views. The price for gondola is 6 euro for a round trip. The rooms are small, but they clean it daily and change the towels daily, too. There are different people at the reception, every day. Some of them do not speak English at all, and it is very hard to understand each other. Only Italian. Buy water shoes for all the beaches in Sicily, there are stones, but clean and warm water.

We were here for eleven days and everything was perfect so we don't have any remarks. The staff is always very polite and friendly, they help you wherever you want: find all informations about the excursions or bus timetables, answer all your questions or just talk with you about the history of the city or the island. The room is very clean with the picturesque sicilian design. We had a room number 14 with the cute balcony and an amazing sea-view. You want to wake up as earlier as possible just to see this sea, rocks and trees again sitting at the balcony! There were a double bed, two bedside-tables, one wardrobe, a chest of drawers with the mirror, two chairs, conditioner, refrigerator and a television. There is a very cute bathroom with toilet, shower, bidet and hair-drier. The staff cleaned the room and also changed towels everyday. We had only breakfasts which were quite identical but various: the freshest yogurt, three types of juices and flakes; eggs, ham, cheese and a very tasty sausage; six different cakes or pies, bread for toasts, buns, Nutella, four or five types of jams; coffee (cappuccino, americano, espresso etc) and several types of tea; and the best one - the newly-baked croissants! It was so nice to wake up every morning and inbreathe the delicious smell of such croissants. I will advise this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Taormina. There are three minutes to the Isola Bella beach, but there are also two or three other beaches across the hotel. Also there are some mini markets and restaurants in the streets so you don't have to spend any time for searching something to eat in the evening. Moreover the hotel is placed in one minute walk from the funicular railway. It was very difficult to chose the hotel for vacation but we didn't make a mistake when decided to stay in Jonic Hotel Mazzaro! We want to thank you very much for your welcome! If we come back to Taormina we will chose this hotel again!
