Loved this hotel in every way. From the minute we arrived to leaving today all staff were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel overlooks a wonderful Cove. The beach is shaley not sand or pebbles. We are not beach people but loved to relax here as there were plenty of beds with towels provided & staff to help you. Waiters checked regularly to see if you wanted to order food or drink. Pool area is lovely. Not huge but sufficient to relax & enjoy. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean. Numerous different terraces & rooms to chill out. Breakfast had a huge selection. Didn't have an evening meal as there are too many restaurants nearby. Cable car which takes you into Taormina centre is a 2 minute walk & is €3 per ride & goes until about 1 o'clock in the morning. Bar drinks are not cheap but this is probably to be expected from a 5 star hotel. Get a sea view room. It's well worth it for the view. Plus you get a lovely terrace with table & chairs plus some rooms have sun loungers and jacuzzi plunge pools on them. We would definitely stay here again if in sicily.
Excellent accommodation and staff. However , the evening meals where not up to the Michelin grade listed. Menu range of choice was very limited and the fillet steak tasted disgusting ! Perhaps it was Kangaroo or Ostrich. The cooking was creative but not appealing- too quirky! The beach is definitely NOT sand! It was not pebbles either. It consisted of mainly a course and very unpleasant sharp shingle silicate which led very quickly [ 0.5mtrs ] to piles of large lethal hidden rocks. Very steep slope to deep water , wife unable to access the water because of this. TAKE STRONG BEACH SHOES!! The beds were impossible to adjust / move and the fixed parasols offered very little shade. Water in early June was fantastic with good snorkelling and many fish. Many excellent small good value restaurants nearby
Excellent hotel with extremely pleasant and attentive staff in ALL areas - even the private beach! I couldn't really fault it, except the bath was very slim (even for me a size 10). Such a lovely place with lots of facilities and a gorgeous breakfast eating area outside looking over the small picturesque bay.
The hotel is in a fantastic position on a cove in the mazzoro area. (not far from the cable car to Taoromina). The hotel is well established and provides an exceptional level of service on all fronts. They are there to cater for guest needs at all times. We had dinner there one night as well and was also excellent.
This superb hotel is in a prime position, smack in the middle of its tiny sheltered bay, with direct access to a private sandy beach, where you can sunbathe, go snorkelling or take excursions as you wish. Even in early May, the sea temperature is not as cold as it is on a UK seaside holiday in August. The views from the sea-view room balconies are positively paintable (see photograph) - definitely worth the extra. The staff are quite outstanding. They were, without exception, kind, helpful, cheerful and efficient. The array of pastries, fresh fruit and delicacies in the early morning made breakfast time a delight, served on the spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the bay. I was less keen on the menu for dinner: the chef is clearly very talented and skilful, but there is a menu offering far too much choice, and every single dish listed seemed to consist of contrived, unnecessarily elaborate variations on and deviations from classic Italian/Sicilian cooking. There was no plain Spaghetti alle Vongole, no Scallopine al Marsala, no Saltimbocca alla Romana.... no Maccherroni alla Norma. Instead there were fussy "nouvelle cuisine" compositions, with questionable combinations (e,g, chocolate with a deep-fried seafood appetiser), eccentric and over-confident spicing (pears poached in red wine and reeking powerfully of cloves served with pork fillet), and lots of drizzling! Chef trying too hard. Quite unnecessary. I discussed this all with my waitress. "So... do you not like this style of cooking?" she asked. "No," I said. "Neither do I!" she replied, and cleared my plates, Nonetheless, THIS HOTEL IS BRILLIANT!
We spent one week at this hotel in May 2017 and enjoyed our stay tremendously. Our room was standard but spacious and the sea view was breathtaking. It is a quiet płace, which we appreciated. The hotel staff were very friendly and went out of there way to help. Food was excellent and beatiffully presented (a la carte). There is a very useful hotel shuttle bus which takes guests twice a day to the city o Taormina, but you can albo walk there (the way down is very easy). There is also a scenic całe car , unfortunately it was closed during our stay.
We stayed in Mazarro Sea Palace for a week in September 2016. I had an accident a couple of weeks before going to Sicily and had injured my leg, which unfortunately curtailed my walking, etc. The hotel staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for me. The hotel faces the sea and has stunning views, from the restaurant, bedrooms and terrace area. There is a lovely cove directly below the hotel, with easy access. Breakfast is excellent, plenty of choice. We stayed on a B and B basis, so did not eat dinner in the hotel, but there are a number of extremely good restaurants just a few metres from the hotel. The Sea Palace is situated on the beach area below Taormina, a few hundred metres from the funicular which brings one up to Taormina in a few minutes. There are a few shops and small mini-markets near the hotel. A pianist played on the terrace nightly, so pleasnt to sit outside, looking at the lights and listening to the waves lapping in on the beach...heavenly! We would highly recommend Sea Palace Mazarro, for the friendlines and helpfulness of every single staff member, for the superb breakfasts and the peace and relaxation when sitting out on our beautiful balcony. Go there!
Very luxurious hotel! A first class experience all around. Would recommend to any and all friends! Awesome location two minutes to the cable car that runs continuously until 11pm right into Taormina, but also restaurants right by the hotel as well. On a magnificently beautiful bay. The rooms are stunning--everything first class. A huge inlaid marble balcony overlooking one of the most beautiful bays in Sicily, big, comfortable beds, super lux fixtures in bathrooms w big fluffy towels, immaculately clean. Gorgeous private beach on a lovely cove with rocks to climb for the big kids. The staff bend over backwards to be helpful. We requested an extra bed and it was there in minutes, requested a chair for our balcony and two chairs and a table appeared pronto, unlimited big fluffy towels at the pool. Elegant and helpful staff are always asking to help. The restaurant is very elegant, so bring some nice clothes. Breakfast was very nice, but at dinner, the food was overpriced w small portions and the staff were disorganised. It was pre-season, so maybe they were in training, but were slow and kept messing up our order. Food was special and high quality though and it's very nice to sit in the lobby with a drink and enjoy the live piano music afterwards.
