The rooms are lovely, brightly painted and full of art. The courtyard is beautiful full of thriving plants. My room was comfortable and spotless, and the staff pleasant and helpful. When I became ill during my trip, the staff went out of their way to help me. The location is great - a short walk to the Grand Plaza and Cathedral.

We enjoyed the comfort of this small hotel in downtown Merida. It had a clean and comfortable room, large bathroom and nice lounging areas outside the room to read and feel the serenity. The tropical plants, coloured decor, and sound of the water were soothing. The wading pool was nice to cool down at after a strenuous walk around the neighbourhood. It was close to everything we enjoyed seeing and we want to come back again!!

This is a fairly recent addition to an already existing hotel chain in Merida. The hotel was a little tricky to find but we got there in the end with a nice welcome by the receptionist. The room was comfortable but there were a few teething problems such as no bottled water in the room, no batteries in the remote control and a door that didn’t open fully that made a massive noise when opened the other way. The room was missing places to hang towels and a second bin under the wash basin. All little creases that will be ironed out in time. The bed was comfortable but the pillows not so. I don’t think I’m special but there seems to be a trend for thick firm pillows that do not allow your head to rest comfortably. Anyway, other than that I slept pretty well. Breakfast was either continental or American, both options were good but don’t ask for anything out of their normal remit unless you are very specific with how you would like it. The orange was very fresh the first day and then watered down the next, always a shame when you are in the land that is bountiful of fruit! The coffee was good quality, a nice surprise! We didn’t swim but the pool was really pretty and a decent size to have fun if you had kids. I might add that our villa was part of a suite so it had a kitchen for longer stays and a lounge area. This makes it great for families or if you’re on a budget and want to cook for yourself. This was very a reasonably priced hotel and we were quite satisfied in general with our stay. Good location and value for money.

Well located in Merida in a quiet but central position, it offers a good solution for a pleasent staying in Merida. Good size and clean rooms. Breakfast needs to be improved: not many options. Staff is friendly and nice.

Good price, good location and walking distance from a street market and couple of bars that get really crowded. The service is ok, nothing out of the extraordinary. I had visitors and they ask them to wait in the lobby for you unless they walk in with you. It was a safe place as well.

My partner and I have been coming to this hotel for several years now, always opting to stay in a special room because they are notably more spacious, but only a fraction more expensive than the standard room. If we really want a treat then we stay in a suite with private jacuzzi. The designers of the hotel have used the space to cleverly that no matter what room you are in, you can always find a private area of terrace to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens and artwork. We have always booked directly via the hotel website rather than a booking search engine because via the website you can pay upfront for the room an guarantee to get the type of room you want, and if like us you know the hotel well and want a very specific room, then this is also easy to arrange. Staff are very friendly and the rooms are well equipped. Breakfast is continental only, but is super tasty. For the price you pay, this hotel is a real treat.

They downgraded me from the super nice suite with private jacuzzi to an average room. Even after double checking weeks prior to the trip that all was in order with my reservation, they only mentioned they had done this after I had signed up the voucher. And all they offered in exchange was free breakfast (which is just juice and toast), I had to ask for a partial refund of at least the difference for the rooms that they promised they would make and never did. Seriously, I get it if people have had a nice stay in here, the hotel is pretty and quiet, but I got a very unfair treatment for no reason and the staff they were just acting like "oh well, s*@+ happens". Hope it doesn't happen to you though, 'cause it gets to ruin your whole stay. Didn't feel but uncomfortable and unwelcome for the whole weekend. Sad.

The picture paint a nice view of the hotel which in reality is not what you get. Looking at the price it is fair what you get, but Boutique Hotel? The breakfast is included, fruits, coffee and juice were good, the rest so lala. The location is close to the main square and as well to good restaurants, etc.

Pros: Everything. All we asked for was provided from ice to extra towels, to more than the 2 bottles of water or more coffee packets for in room coffee pot. Cons: Box Kleenex rather than packages. Body wash, rather than bar soap, in addition to shampoo, conditioner and lotion provided. No note paper or pen. Location: Centro Merida and some great restaurants all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. We always felt safe walking back and forth. After first night, we were upgraded to a larger room at our request which made all the difference. We had our own private pool area with lounge chairs and spent a good deal of time out there. The hotel has many tropical gardens with tall palm trees and it was like being at a resort in the middle of the city. The hotel is close to most everything in Centro Merida, yet was very quiet with little city noise. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Special kudos to Natalia for making our stay so perfect. A review we had read said that internet reception was disappointing. One evening, we could get no signal, mentioned this to the front desk and by that night it was restored. There was never another problem, any time of day. We have stayed at a much more expensive and lavish hotel in Merida and not enjoyed our stay or location as much, as at Koox. For us, there is no need to stay anywhere else on our next trip to Merida.

It was clean, helpful staff and a good price. It was close to restaurants and several of the plazas. Basic breakfast was nice with fresh fruit and excellent coffee. Small pool was nice for hot afternoons.
