We stayed here for ten days A.I and can't recommend it enough . Like most people we read the reviews and most were good, odd one complain, however we found nothing to contain about. The reception was bright clean spacious and welcoming.we booked in quickly by very nice staff and went to our room .Bedrooms are extremely clean and well appointed. We found the beds very comfortable as we're the pillows .If I had any negative it was that whoever let there before was a smoker as there was a faint smell on the pillow. The dining room was large bright and beautiful white table cloths and napkins which we like .The food w as varied looked very well presented, with plenty of choice.I o my eat chicken in any form and only a couple of times it was my on .They are very keen on fish and veal which as on every day. The dinning room staff were extremely helpfully and attentive -Don't be too worried if there is a Que sometimes the dinning room manager has you to a table in minutes. The rest of the hotel had everything.you could want .Outside lovely gardens surround the pool with plentiful sinners no matter what time you go ,it's the first hotel that does adhere to the no towel reserve .There is a lifeguard on all day as well'.Like most holiday we take in September we go d the pool too chilly and did go to use the indoor pool a couple of times but it was always locked !.The bus that runs every hour is a godsend ,we usually walked down but too much of a climb back made us use the bus.If you have not being to SonBou before it has a beautiful beach but only a few cafe s and shops so if you are looking for hustle and bustle it's not the place for you 'To sum up apart from the changeable weather 2terrific thunder storms we had a great holiday at a great hotel with terrific staff .Well done all of you .
We arrived late and were offered a very substantial cold meal which could be accessed anytime between 21.30 and 02.00. We had booked an apartment and had quite a bit of difficulty finding it, and finding the main switch to turn on all the lights in the dark. (It would have been great to have been shown). The apartment had everything in it that you would expect, the bed and pillows were the most comfy I have ever experienced in a hotel. We were all inclusive, the variety of food and drink was fantastic and even fussy eaters could not go hungry. The staff in the restaurant were exceptional, always happy to help. The animation team worked very hard and there was shooting and archery as well as the usual daytime activities. The entertainment in the evening was varied and very high quality. What a bonus to have an indoor pool as although the weather was good the outdoor pool was freezing. I swam in the indoor pool every day mostly having it to myself. Getting out and about was easy and inexpensive using the public buses. If you go to Ciutadella, you have to change buses at Alaior. Get off at the second bus stop in Alaior, from there you will be able to catch the bus to Ciutadella. If you want to go to Mahon it is a straight through bus from Son Bou. The beach in Son Bou is lovely and sandy and the sea very safe. It costs 15 euros for 2 sunbeds for the day. It takes about 10mins to walk from the hotel to the beach, we always took the free hotel bus back because of the hill. There are no restaurants or shops around the hotel but some nice walks on quiet roads with lovely views of Son Bou. As we left at 17.20 we were allowed access of the all inclusive until 17.00, then given a room and towels to change before we left. Overall a hotel I highly recommend.
I had read reviews on here so was expecting a good hotel, BUT couldn;t beleive some reviews on here slated the food. The food was really good, plenty of choice of mains, salads, desserts, fruit, nobody would go hungry staying there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned every day, even clean towels. There was a shuttle bus down into the village regularly during the day but unfortunately, there was not much in the village once you got there. Enjoyed our stay but would not go back as not much there. We had to vacate our room at 12noon and because we weren't being being picked up till 7pm, they kindly lent us a room and towels so we could shower and change, very nice touch.
We returned yesterday from this hotel and have to say we were very impressed. The hotel isn’t too big that you can’t find your way round. We arrived just before 11 a.m. and were told the room wasn’t ready but were given a courtesy room so that we could change out of our travelling clothes and into something lighter to cope with the heat. We didn’t get into our room until 2 p.m. it would have been nice to have got in earlier as we had been up since 2 a.m. I am sure there must have been other vacant rooms that we could have been given. However we were very please with our room and the size of the balcony. The unit that the tv was on could have done with updating as there were marks where something had been spilt on the top leaving white marks. Restaurant/snack bar The food was very good with plenty of choice and always replenished quickly. I particularly liked the show cooking area. Be warned if you eat at the snack bar the portions are HUGE. We initially made the mistake of ordering a meal each but after that if we ate there we shared a meal as after all it as only meant to be a snack. The pool area and gardens are well maintained. The adult bar is good, a lot quieter than the main bar (you can actually hear yourself speak!). There is a tv here and the barman will always try to put on whatever station you want it on. There is also a games room which was well used of an evening and a small lounge with comfortable chairs/settees and books to borrow. The beach is a 5 minute minibus drive away and this runs every half hour and is free. It’s a good walk down but we didn’t attempt the walk back up as it was very steep. Where the bus drops you off Servitravel advertise two tours around the Island. A gentleman by the name of Raphael owns and runs this. Well worth the 29 euros and a lot cheaper than the tour operators. The only suggestion I would ask the management to consider would be to make part of the sun lounge a non-smoking area. A few times we sat in an area only to have someone sit next to us and then proceed to chain smoke, not good. Would we recommend this hotel - definitely.
My partner and I booked our holiday last minute for a standard 1 bedroom apartment for 7 days for the third week of September. Arrived at Valentin Son Bou and wow!! The grounds were beautiful and everywhere was well looked after. The staff very friendly and helpful. Our apartment was lovely, completely beyond our expectations. Very spacious with a well furnished bedroom, bathroom and large open plan living room kitchen. We were in a ground floor apartment which suited us well and made good use of the veranda in the evening. The kitchenette facilities were excellent - very well equipped with everything you would want to use. We were self catered (minus the included breakfast) so it was perfect for us. The included buffet style breakfast provided lots of variety with offerings suitable for everyone. Food and drink ranged from juices, hot drinks, cooked breakfasts, pastries, breads, yoghurts, fruit etc. to certain foods you could ask to be cooked in front of you. We spent more time sitting on the beach than around the pool because we love beaches but the pool area was a good size. Lots of sunbeds to choose from with a lifeguard on watch. Valentin Son Bou isn't situated far from town, about a 15 minutes walk which we enjoyed some days but the free shuttle bus made this very easy to get too. Son Bou has lots of great restaurants and bars. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and very much enjoyed our stay at Valentin Son Bou. Thank you to the staff who made our time enjoyable. We would very much recommend it here.
Excellent hotel - third visit to the Valentin Son Bou. Service as good as ever. The food - breakfast, lunch and dinner are all buffet and the selection is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. The pool is very clean. The entertainment is varied and very good.
We stayed a week in an apartment at Valentin Son Bou, half board. Our apartment was fine, but not really what you expect of a 4 star location. Furniture is a little old, and there was a horrible smell in the bathroom. During our stay it was a bit chilly, but it was not possible to turn on any heating. The restaurant is great, with a good selection of fresh food. It can be a little crowded sometimes. Parking at the property is free. Wifi worked fine. Staff in the restaurant is not always very attentive. Several times, a waiter didn`t want to serve us anymore if we arrived a little late for dinner (20.30 hrs, while the kitchen closes at 21.30 hrs), as they wanted to prepare the tables for breakfast already. The staff at the reception desk was also not very professional. We asked several times something, but they were not really interested in answering, and looked at the same time at their computer of mobile Phone. Cleaning and maintaining staff was great! Location of the hotel was no problem for us, by car you can go anywhere. And even walking to the beach is not that far.
Stayed a week at end of September. Immaculately clean and comfortable hotel with well maintained buildings and grounds. All staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Management regularly seen on tours of inspection. Comfortable room, cleaned and fresh towels every day. Lots of excellent, comfortable indoor and outdoor sitting areas. No reserving sunbeds with towels - Hooray!! Plenty of sunbeds. Very nice restaurant with white linen on tables and immaculate staff. Help yourself wine, beer and soft drinks. Good choice of food at all meals which was always hot and plentiful. Always good choice for lunch and dinner of fish, meats, pastas, paella, vegetables, cheeses and fruits, with excellent salad bars. Some foods cooked or carved to order. Depleted dishes were instantly replaced and chef could always be seen patrolling his domain. Restaurant supplemented by good snacks from poolside bar. Bars, with good quality drinks, were well staffed and waiter service was excellent. Liked adults only lounge and terrace. Think hotel was full but never had to wait more than a few minutes for a drink. Evening entertainment was good, varied and by professional artistes. Free safe and quality large pool towels (refundable deposits only). Location is, as stated, at top of steep hill but hotel bus service to beach is every 30 minutes and excellent, Driver very friendly and helpful. Could not find a single fault with hotel or its staff.
We’ve just returned from two weeks at the San Valentin in Torre Soli Nou Menorca and were extremely impressed with the improvements that have be made to this Hotel following previous years were we have found some things disappointing. A new Manager has been appointed, José Manuel Rivas Boullosa, and under his direction the improvements are clearly visible, with attention to detail being evident throughout our stay. In previous years we very rarely saw the Hotel Manager (other than meals times) but José was always visible checking and correcting any issues inside and outside of the Hotel and engaging with the guests and appeared to be very interested in our views, one member of Staff even mentioned that if they had any problems The Manager dealt with them quickly, which is a good sign of Team Building. Having spent many years involved in Business improvement I cannot praise José and his new Management team enough for the changes they have made and in such a short period of time. Staff: A lot of new Staff have been brought in to replace some of the “Old School” and the friendliness and professionalism was clear to be seen. Particular Staff members that we were impressed with were, Ruau, Sanjin, Juan, Raul and Damian from the Bars. Monica, Ayman and Pedro from the Restaurant. Restaurant. Again, a New Manager (Miguel Martinez) has been brought in to improve the Restaurant, and improve things he very much has and again, it’s attention to detail that has made the difference. The cleanliness is to a very good standard, not only the hotel and rooms but the gardens as well. The New lifeguard (Domingo) this year, actually took his job very seriously, always walking around watching what was going on in and around the pool and engaging with guests, again another big improvement. We could point out a couple of things that we didn’t like but these were minor things that would be personal to us rather than the majority and we don’t want to deflect from the positives. Overall, as you can probably tell, we were much more happy with our stay than previous years and would suggest to anyone who has been previously and were disappointed to give it another go, clearly the Management team are listening to the criticism and actually doing something about it and that in itself is a refreshing change.
Travelling as a group of 21 family members, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Valentin. We were all inclusive guests, and as the hotel is situated a little way from the beach the hotel offers a free shuttle bus down to the town and beach of Son Bou. The food was always good quality and a nice selection. We took our 7 month old daughter who was weaning at the time, and there was always something there that she could eat. Sometimes the meat could be overcooked, but you could get a chef to cook a specific piece a specific way. The staff were friendly and accommodating and there was soon good activities held during the day and fun entertainment in the evening.
