Judging by other recent reviews you can get lucky and have no problems with your apartment, or you might have an experience like ours. We had no hot water on arrival until the following afternoon. The bathroom tiles and bath had been newly painted which left a really strong instant headache inducing smell of paint. The aircon controls were missing. The holiday rep didn't turn up the next morning. She later said that she had been in sister hotel but no one, including staff in hotel or apartments, knew her whereabouts. My husband sorted the use of another room with manager while our plumbing was sorted. We had to sleep with windows open to get rid of paint smell but this meant aircon didn't work. The microwave was filthy and rusted, it was replaced the following day. The light cubes in the bedroom didn't work until light bulbs were changed. Hardly any storage space , the fridge door wouldn't open due to uneven floor and the laminate floor was uneven and buckling in various places. The ceiling light in the main room had exposed wires and the toilet periodically would not stop flushing until the button was shook. When the rep did appear she offered us holiday vouchers or excursion vouchers. We will not be travelling with this company again and we had hire car so declined the offers. Perhaps we were unlucky but for so many things to be wrong I just don't know why someone on the staff had not checked the room before it was let out.Perhaps a system of housekeeping checks for rooms should be put in place. We had a good holiday as we only use apartment as a base but we would not book a Smartline holiday again. Oh and to add to everything we witnessed a brawl in the bar next to apartments when security was called but didn't respond quickly because he was dealing with similar incident in sister hotel?
Just returned froma fabulous week at the Smartline Marina, Menorca, accommodation was far better than I would of hoped for, lovely and spacious studio with a fabulous well kitted out kitchen, bathroom was adequate with a very good powerful shower. We was in room 205 with a lovely view of the side of the Harbour entrance. Hotel staff were all very friendly, I was self catering so I cannot tell you what the food was actually like. The harbour itself was so gorgeous with restaurants and bars all around, there was something for everyone. We had wi fi in our rooms too and around pool , safe cost 25.00 euros for a week. NO IRONS though The only downer for us was the beach as we had a lot of seaweed on the beach and in the sea for a few days and the beach is quote small so gets very very busy, we walked along the walk pathway to other little secluded bits of beach but these also got busy very quickly. Apart from that we would defo be going back.
This hotel is what it is, and that is a good clean and functional hotel but is one of the older hotel apartments in the resort and it shows but the location is great, our only gripe was the maid service wasn't great and you only get clean towels every four days and we didn't think the balcony had been swept for a long time, the pool area is nice but the pool has a lip just under the water line which you have to be careful of when swimming.
Just got back after a week staying at the Smartline Marina apartments. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival that the room we were allocated had been refurbished. We visited last year and we're quite happy with the apartment but this year it was better, don't get me wrong, it isn't plush and luxurious but basic and very clean. The bathroom is spacious and very convenient with plenty of towels, changed every two days. The beds are spotless and the kitchenette is adequate. The air con is free of charge as is the fridge and the wifi. I would highly recommend the Marina to anyone.
Stayed here with my husband and two sons last week in June 2nd week in July. We stayed all inclusive and must say the food and what you get in terms of a 3 star was great. We have stayed all inclusive 4 stars in Italy and the food was on par with it. All the snacks and ice cream you could ask for through the day too. The rooms were basic but clean we had a one bed apartment and it was a little small for a family of 4 maybe for two younger children but for my 14 year old who is almost 6ft struggled in the sofa bed. There wasn't much room for clothes either as there was only one wardrobe with hardly any hangers. The staff here were lovely and worked hard all day. The one thing that did bug me was the fact at night if we wanted a drink we had to go over to the cala n Bosch hotel. This for us wasn't great. We have two sons with Autism and it was noisy and crowded. It would be perfect in my opinion if they kept the car at the marina hotel open later so you can have the quieter bar of you prefer. Also the kids entertainment was on far too late.. when we were there the kids disco started at 9:30. I was tired by then never mind the kids! Also not having bottled water included was a pain and there was signs everywhere saying not to fill up your water bottles as it was unhygienic. That all being said we would likely stay here again but would be perfect for us if the bar at the marina stayed open a little longer.
Just got back from a holiday in Cala'n Bosch. Stayed at Smartline Marina. Had a lovely time. Our studio was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and friendly. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Though surprised at the number of school age children staying as it is still term time. We had a great view of the sea from our terrace. Would highly recommend staying here. Mandy Shaw.
We travelled with our 3 year old. As it was our first holiday abroad as a family I was apprehensive about the recent bad reviews of the hotel, and when we arrived we need not have worried at all. Our room was very clean, comfy beds, small and basic with minimal storage but for a week this didn't matter. The hotel staff were friendly, informative and work hard to keep the hotel clean and running smoothly. Food was plentiful, a large amount of food on offer at each mealtime. A real choice too. Yes it did get samey but your eating 3 meals a day here so why wouldn't it. It was nice food too with steaks, lamp chops, pork on offer all being cooked in front of you. The beach was beautiful and just down the steps off the hotel. Very sandy, and very sea weedy too but this could just be the time of year?! The water park included is just down the road, about 5 min walk and well worth a visit. The marina opposite the hotel was lovely too, walking along at night to get out and have a drink. The pools were kept well maintained, kids pool is surrounding by grass which is safer but does get very muddy and was a bit cold. Didn't stop my child though! Kids club was great, all friendly and entertaining. Night entertainment was good too, kids disco and then an act: e.g magician, disco, singer, variety show. It was nice as the children all enjoyed it so the adults could relax. Yes there were a lot of French but this did not stop the entertainment being British too, I think the previous reviews on this being too French is unfair. All in all it was a great family holiday for a 3 star and we would consider returning
After been recommended this hotel by my mum who has stayed there for the past two years. I can say we were not disappointed. After check in and given our key to room 120 we were pleased to see we had fab view of pool and sea. Room was very nice and clean and had everything we needed. It even provided beach towels which you rarely see. It was cleaned a couple of times while there also bedding and towels changed. Staff were great from reception, life guard, cleaning and pool bar So friendly. Great location to walk to some fantastic restaurants each night with great food. Bus service right outside hotel really easy to use went to Mahon for the day which was fab. We would highly recommend this hotel. Cant wait to go back :-)
We Stayed for two weeks from the 12th June 2017. After reading a few unkind reviews we were a little worried what we may find. What a surprise, we had room 113 and it was great. Yes some of the fitments were a little dated especially as one of the wardrobe doors decided it wouldn't slide shut unless lifted. So what,, we were on holiday and it just didn't matter. There was plenty of storage space for clothes and hangers to put them on.The only real moan was the price of the safe which was 25 Euros for two weeks. Not wanting to worry about losing our bits and pieces we paid up. We liked the light cubes and Led bedside reading lamps. The air conditioning was free, efficient and essential for when we arrived back from the beach or trip in a 30degrees + heat. also good for sleeping at night. The view from room 113 was brilliant it had a sea view the balcony was about 100metres from the sea. The balcony was of good size and faced west so that for the best part of the day it was in the shade ideal for a relaxing breakfast. The kitchenette was adequate for us as we only used a kettle ( which didn't switch off) and the toaster. We had fruit ,cereal, toast and tea for breakfast and the rest of the time we ate out. The shower and toilet area was clean and functional with the towels being replaced as promised. The only comment we had regarding the shower over the bath was that it could have done with an anti slip mat/panel on the floor of the bath to prevent any accidents.Regarding the pool area we only visited it once as we are not poolside devotees. Especially when there is a gorgeous little beach with turquoise water just down the road. The poolside lifeguard was very attentive and helped us to find a couple of sun beds to eat our ice cream. The apartments info said we could hire a sun umbrella for 9Euros. On asking at reception they informed us they didn't actually hire them out. So we bought one for 10euros it was good value, as to hire 2 sunbeds and an umbrella cost 18euros for the day on the beach. Yes we did have to sit on the sand.. again we were on holiday so it didnt matter. It was also good for going to other beaches. For interest, we left the brolly behind for other holiday makers. If you get room 113 you may find a red sun brolly still there. Regarding the staff. the ladies doing the cleaning were very efficient as were those on reception. For a relaxing holiday we suggest you choose the apartments over the hotel as it seemed very busy whenever we went there. If you want 5* luxury don't choose the Smartline Apartments if you want a nice clean base to relax and sleep in the Apartments are for you..(and us)
Stayed here in June 17 really pleased at the high standard of accommodation the rooms are very clean and finished to a good standard as is the rest of the accommodation. The staff are all very friendly and look after you during your stay 3 pools keep everyone happy with a good number of sun beds available at most times. It is situated in a perfect position for both beach and visiting the many restaurants in the marina and a bus stop just across the road for a trip in to the main town well worth a visit for 2 euros. In summery you wont be disappointed here wether a couple or a family.
