We decided on a last minute break but the hotels in the area we wanted were fully booked, so decided to stay in Mahon, Artiem Capri didn't disappoint . Greeted with a warm welcome at reception, after checking in went to our room 414. Spacious and spotless, with a large comfortable bed with a pillow menu. Mini bar which we didn't use as a bit on the expensive side.No complimentary water but was available from mini bar at 2.50 euro's for small bottle.Safe in the wardrobe came with a charge of 1.80 euro per day. This charge I challenged as I felt we paid enough for the room and should be included like other hotels after paying a deposit , this charge was subsequently waived on departure ,a gesture that proved customer satisfaction was important to he hotel . The bathroom was large, very clean and had a Jacuzzi ,shower with a large shower head, lovely white towels . plus all the potions and lotions.Plenty of hot water and towels changed every day. House keeper was very efficient and all areas of room and bathroom kept very clean . Hotel was a short walk from the bus terminal and the main shopping area of Mahon. Small bars in the vicinity , we used Bar San Francisco just over the road which offered hospitality and reasonably priced drinks .Hotel bar wasn't for us as we found it soulless, but on the two occasions we used it good service was given ,but we usually were the only ones drinking . Not much of a view from room with an apartment block opposite but no problem as we knew this was the case. Pool , with spa and sun deck on top decks, sundeck had a great view. Food was very good , something to suit all palates .Breakfast hot and cold buffet with plenty of choices and an egg station. Dinner once again hot and cold buffet, with chef working the cooking area offering choices of various fish and meats cooked to order. Cold meats , cheeses , salads, cakes and pastries ,available on both meals. Service by all the waitresses was very good , not once did we sit with used empty plates in front of us . If we wanted to stay in Mahon again we would definitely use this hotel again .Great staff in all areas , good spacious room , nice food . Thanks to all who made our break enjoyable .
We have just returned home from 7 nights in Mahon staying at the Capri. We have never had such excellent service particularly from the reception staff who were caring, helpful and efficient. All the staff were of the same calibre and went to any lengths to ensure the visit was memorable affair. The position of the hotel was decidedly of the inner city type with no views to speak of but was very convenient for the amenities on offer and the transport was excellent in the form of a nearby bus station. Family gatherings in the city square harked back to a bygone era when the whole family were together at social events. The lack of graffiti and louts in the centre made the area very family friendly and encouraged people to gather in the nearby city square.
We booked this last minute as it was reviewed in Rough Guide. It is a modern hotel, probably refashioned from an old one as the marble stairs and dark wood banisters are still in evidence. Our room was large and had a small balcony overlooking the back of some houses so it was very quiet, It's not in the best area - it's very near the bus station, but five minutes walk takes you to a large square where there's a market on a Tuesday when we were there. The bathroom was big and had a walk in shower. We prefer a bath but this seems to be the trend. One strange feature was the frosted glass bathroom door that had gaps all around so sound travelled...! Thee seems to be an Eco drive in Spain - no more little bottles of shampoo etc. They have been replaced with large wall mounted plunger bottles. We were disappointed to find that the only English language channels on the TV were Bloomberg, CNBC and Russia Today (!). Breakfast was excellent although some other guests found that the hot breakfast dishes were not very good. We only had a continental one and were quite satisfied. The hotel boasts a "rooftop spa" which has a sauna, steam room and a pool, but it's covered - or was when we were there. It was far too hot to sit there but up some stairs is an open area with sun loungers. Friendly staff and an internet area with a laptop. Free wifi was available.
Fantastic hotel in Maó, a short walk from the town centre. Nice and spacious room, very comfortable bed. It is clean and quite new. Kind staff. Good food. Spa. The hotel is just great. The only thing missing is a view.
We were a group of people staying at this hotel and all of us, had a Great service from the employees! It´s a very functional hotel and very well located. I had a very good impression from the Lady from the Spa/gym área, that dis very good her job, explaining everything and kindly. Will be back.
Good location from the city center, and takes about a 10 mins taxi ride from the airport. Rooms are kept very clean and tidy, and the roof top pool and terrace is stunning. Would definitely recommend!
We were so looking forward to our stay in Hotel Artiem Capri. However, we were not at all happy with certain details. Firstly, the balcony. The broken floor tiles were not only anti-aesthetic, but also dangerous. Secondly, the lighting in the bathroom was poor and the bath taps, very stiff. More important were the urban spar installations. Apart from having to tolerate the noise of a drill on another floor at nine o'clock in the morning spoiling that chillout feeling, the Jacuzzi handle by the steps to get in and out of the tub wasn't fixed to the decking properly. The water jets were weak, too. The swimming pool was spotlessly clean and the water temperature perfect. No complaints regarding the Turkish bath or the sauna. But what literally floored us for a hotel of this category was the food. The buffet breakfast was acceptable, the evening meal was not! Mediocre, lukewarm and lacking innovation and overpriced drinks. All in all, we were disappointed but that being said, a plus for the hotel was the amicable restaurant staff as were the receptionists.
Gosh this place is a gem! Starting form the location: walking distance to bus station or taxi stand to take buses or taxi to rest of island> Mind you Mahon in itself is just the city one flies into, hardly a place for sight seeing. However owing to proximity to the public buses this hotel is a perfect base to explore rest of Menorca from: including taking buses to Calle En Porter beaches, Cova D'en Xoroi (famous club) and Cuitadella (port city on opposite end of island). The receptionists & staff are beyond helpful, always smiling and super eager to help with touristy stuff like bus schedules/maps. The room: spacious, clean, comfy, roomy. the shower: perfect: good water pressure, spacious, lotsa room. the morning BF buffet: amazing selection of meats, cheese, fruit platters, eggs, toasts and cakes and juices. In the price asked, I believe this was such an amazing deal esp in the peak visiting season of Aug 2017. I'd stay here again if I ever return and highly recommend this to all. No doubt about it.
We were on a DIY. trip to Menorca,so it's a handy 10min cab from the airport, and 3 mins walk to the bus station.A pleasant walk to the harbour of about 15 mins. Hotel is clean, organised, good sized rooms, and a good varied breakfast. It has a lovely I'd a tad cold enclosed pool on the roof which is unenclosed when it get too hot. Then on a higher section loungers.Lift to all floors. A couple of bars opposite, which we frequented
