Stopped here on the way out for a Rhine cruise, rooms were fresh and clean, food was good continental fare. This hotel was part of the package and we were pleased they had chosen it. Nobody on our coach had anything but positive comments to say the following day.

We stayed at this out of the way hotel on our way back from a cruise down the Rhine and found that its lack lustre exterior hid quite a good hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We had an evening meal here of beef in beer with chips and green beans and it was delicious. Our breakfast was continental and adequate. The is a small beer garden and a bar lounge area. Our room however was too warm as there wasn't any air conditioning and the window opened onto the street.

Stayed here during a coach tour of the WW1 Battlefields. The hotel is comfortable and is situated in a quiet part of town. The breakfasts were fine and the bar is pleasant. However, there is no restaurant and the bar doesn't do snacks either. The nearest bars and restaurants are only a short walk away, but it would be good if there was some sort of on sire eating option. Having said all that, the hotel does make a good base for touring this really historic area.

A hotel that is perfect for a stay when you are on a tour. Comfortable bed, lovely en suite shower and adequate breakfast. A bar for the evening when you want to meet up briefly to chat over the day. Fifteen minute walk (5 if walking briskly) to find somewhere to eat. Hotel has a leaflet that recommends local restaurants. Hotel staff are very friendly and speak perfect English. Would certainly stay here again for a brief stay when touring the battlefields, which I certainly will again.

I stayed here with my daughter on a WW1 battlefield tour. The room was very warm even though the radiator in both bedroom and bathroom was cold. Our room was on the ground floor facing the road so we could not open the window for any length of time. The twin beds were very narrow and had huge square pillows which were very lumpy. None of the above was conducive to sleep which is a must after a long coach trip followed by a full itinerary. The hotel is seriously understaffed with just one person doing everything. The breakfast was average. No meals at night and not easy to find anywhere decent in Menen which seemed to be closed. Tour was brilliant though

Doesn't look anything from the frone. Tiny reception area which doesn't work well with large tour groups. Breakfast room quite small and food self service area very poorly arranged which creates congestion. Hot breakfast option were scrambled eggs baked beans and hot dog sausages.... no bacon froed eggs mushrooms or tomatoes so don't get your hopes up. Cold breakfast options include fruit yoghurt cereals ham salami and cheese. Overall good food but not much choice. Rooms good size but with awful square pillows!

Staff throughout were very friendly and helpful. A problem we had with the bathroom because we were at the end of pipe layout, was sorted while we were out. The bathroom was rather small with only a shower, others at the hotel had baths also, but this was not a problem for us. The bed was comfortable provided you can manage with a duvet; there were spare pillows in the wardrobe. Towels were good, hand towels were changed even though not placed in shower tray. Food was excellent in evening, and the breakfasts satisfactory Top step of one set of stairs is a problem, the tread has been raised and it is very easy to trip on it even when you know. It would not be allowed in the uk. Some had problems with the lock on the door to their room, I suspect they were not used to the type of lock, we had no such problem. If you wish to visit the town centre or cross the border on foot do ask directions, both are fairly easy to find if you start correctly. We visited a bar round the corner and were made most welcome by the barman and the locals.

The hotel's exterior looks somewhat unassuming, but it conceals a bright, clean and welcoming interior. Ground floor room was very spacious and clean with all the usual facilities. Restaurant service for our coach party was most efficient. We found the staff particularly friendly and welcomimg. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I celebrated my birthday on the night of the stay and waiter, Roland, who was superb, led a chorus of "Happy Birthday." We will definitly stay here again. Thanks to all the staff.

Stayed here while on a trip to the Somme. Lovely room with a jacuzzi. Nice to see an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. Nice bar shame it closes at 11.00 tho. Nice breakfast. Lots of nice little bars around and restaurants

Very comfortable hotel, stayed for three nights, lovely spacious room and bathroom, with everything we needed, breakfast was basic but good, all you needed before a long day out. Bar for anyone who needed a relaxing drink in the evening, and some snacks. Close to restaurants if you had the energy to go out, helpful staff.
