Its location very close to avenida Belgrado and Aristides street where you find the best restaurants and pubs is great;staff is nice and servicial; breakfast included in the fee is quite abundant. Something important! We asked for a second key and they claimed they didn't have one. We didn't like this.... I would only recommend that you stay in a superior room. At first we were given a common one, it was ok but not so neat and hair dryer didn't work properly. Unluckily, we found cockroaches in our room. Our receptionist immediately changed our room and we spend a pleasant night at last. In general, the hotel is average, it's evident that maintenance is needed. Anyways, it's up to you folks! Hope you have a great time in Mendoza!
I arrived in Mendoza for 2 week vacation with my boyfriend....first thing from the airport headed to villagio hotel. I was amazed by the cozy design, luxurious classy athmosphere, big, comfortable bedrooms with amenities of all kind. and the most important silent, perfect ac and the most pleasant stuff!!!! all of that for an amazing price! reccommend everyone as my first choice!!!! Thank you for making our stay memorable!
Overall I think I had a positive experience at this hotel, but there are aspects of the stay that left me thinking I would try a different one next time. Pros -It's located close to restaurants and other areas you might want to visit. -The free breakfast was convenient and had many sorts of pastries and bread available, and some hot food as well (though we never tried it) -The lobby and breakfast area are very up to date -Good internet Cons -The room looks good in pictures, but looking closer there were some wear marks from furniture and luggage on the walls, water stains on the counter in the bathroom, deteriorated strips of grip tape or something on the bottom of the shower -The sheets were thin enough that I could read the label on the top of the mattress through them -The hot water in the shower intermittently smelled really unpleasant, almost like sewage The cons I listed wouldn't really be too much of a concern (aside from the hot water smell) but I expected better based on the description of the hotel as "boutique" and the images which make it look nicer than it is.
The hotel is located right near downtown Mendoza near the Plaza Independence. The beds are comfortable but the room was not completely clean when we checked in. (There was toothpaste left in bathroom drawer). We asked for an extra glass for our room (there was only 1) and tissue and never received either. The breakfast has a very nice variety.
My husband and I stayed in the Villaggio Hotel Boutique, based on a guidebook recommendation. The hotel is in a convenient location. The room was spacious, but I noticed that the room (and bathroom) could use a bit of maintenance. The front office staff were courteous and spoke very good English. However, my husband asked that another stand be brought up to the room on which to put another suitcase. The staff seemed to have an issue with this, which was a mystery to us as to why this should be a problem. Eventually, they brought a second stand. My husband also mentioned that there was lightbulb burned out in the room. The lightbulb was never replaced. It was these glitches in service and the somewhat worn condition of the room that leads me to giving the Villaggio Hotel Boutique an average rating. A little tender loving care and a bit more attention to service would have me giving a higher rating to what could be a great boutique hotel that is very reasonably priced and conveniently located.
The hotel is located downtown, 1 and 1/2 block from a large park and walking street with many cafes. Locals visit the park at night, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was great with many types of croissants and other great options. The room was quiet, clean and pleasant. One thing lacking was hangers to hang used towels.
Pleasant boutique hotel near Independence Square and close to restaurants and shops. The room was nicely decorated, comfortable and of a good size. Good breakfast with plenty of choices, helpful staff, nice pool and garden area.
We stayed 1 night at the Villaggio hotel in Mendoza. The location is very good, close to independence square and many restaurants, coffee shops and stores. The English speaking staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room on the first floor was modern and spacious with a safe, TV and a writing desk. The bathroom shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The only complaint we had was that both the room and bathroom was in need of a good deep cleaning. The WI-FI was very strong. Breakfast is served buffet style with a nice selection of cold cuts, breads, juices etc. including some hot items. Our room was on the street side and traffic noise could be heard but it was not disturbing.
After our 4 night booking ended we felt we could do better for the price and moved to the Huentala Hotel and thought it excellent value (also 4 star hotel and same price). Villaggio's location was great: 1 block from main square (Indepencia), which was the starting position for the city tours Hop On/Off bus, 1 block from the best parrilla restaurants (according to a walking tour guide) and about 5 blocks from "restaurant row". The front desk was flawless; all spoke perfect English, were helpful with any question we had and made excellent dining recommendations. The wifi was robust, the rooms were small, the window faced another room a few feet away, breakfast was average and the shower frustratingly weak.
The building itself is attractive and the people behind the front desk are very polite. I think that's all the positives covered! There is a chronic understaffing here, there was no one in the lounge bar at any point and equally the gym was unattended, instead you had to book in advance to use any of the advertised facilities so that they could find someone to open them. The water was out for a day of our stay which meant no showers, wouldn't have been so bad had they told us and I hadn't used my reserved gym spot to get really sweaty only to find out that the pool was the best washing option. The smell!!! The water system (hot in particular) and draining really stank throughout the stay. One of us in our party got diarrhoea which we are pretty sure related to this. The best bit!!!! When we complained we heard the manager ask which nationality we were, the polite gentleman at the front desk answered English, after that they refused to compensate us in any way. Don't quite understand the policy here, maybe they aren't interested in our custom??? General issues - took 45mins to get a glass of wine in Mendoza, every time I went to the front desk I had to wait at least 15mins as every interaction is inefficient and frustrating and there is always a line as they only seem to have one person working any at point. And at checkout they added a Coke from the mini bar to our bill (after refusing any form of compensation) which neither of us drink... genius The manager should be particularly proud as she hid round the corner from us and didn't speak to us directly at any point. A real shame as the hotel was clearly built with good intentions but they really don't get the service industry.
