A well located hotel, easy to find when driving and with free parking. A terrific restaurant Maria Antonieta, is located next door, which is a bonus. Very well appointed rooms and on the upper levels facing west are great views to the mountains. Breakfast is the usual international buffet, but good quality. Would have given this hotel 5/5, but for the lack of effective air conditioning on level 20. We woke at 3 am both exceedingly hot with the air con blowing just air. On calling reception they reset it, but in my view it never achieved the claimed setting of 22 degrees.
We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We had a corner room on the 17th floor and the room was massive and the view of the Andes was amazing! The location of this Hotel is excellent with some great bars and restaurants on the next block. We also had the buffet breakfast included and it was excellent. The only fault I can pick with this hotel is the cleaners need to give the carpet area outside the room door a good vacuum but apart from that little thing I would highly recommend this hotel
This hotel is very nice with a gorgeous lobby and spacious and modern rooms. Definitely request a room with a view over the mountains! Our first room had a king bed and a large shower. The second room had two double beds that were attached to make one big bed (??) and a very small shower (because there was also a bathtub in the bathroom, which we didn't need). The service was great here!
From gorgeous deco to (really) spacious rooms, not to mention a surprisingly awesome breakfast, everything went perfectly fine and worked as expected. Caveat is the pool and pool area, undersized for hotel caliber. 5 stars location, top spot close to everything that matters.
My only true regret from Argentina is that I did not splurge for a nicer hotel such as the four seasons. The pros of this place are the great breakfast and central location. Other than that, the experience was incredible sub par. We had 2 rooms for 3 nights. Not one time was our room EVER cleaned. It tries to sell itself as a luxury hotel but it felt dirty crowded and not well run. We had a great experience with the concierge there (drawing a blank on his name) but all the other staff we dealt with was unnecessarily rude. We came back around 6 each day to dirty rooms, and by that point we just needed to shower and didn’t have time for them to come by and clean. I have had much better experiences at Hampton Inns or courtyards. I wouldn’t stay here again and instead opt for an Airbnb or a true luxury hotel.
Hotel is well positioned near parks, restourants, bars and shops. High quality price ratio. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and very good breakfast. Great view over the city and the mountains. Happy to come back when next time in Mendoza.
Booked a room with a mountain view and watching the sun rise and set was stunning. The room was clean and comfortable, but dated and looked worn and tied. The bathroom was spacious and water pressure was excellent. I had dealings with a number of different staff working on the front desk and all excellent and very helpful and friendly, especially for an English speaker. Breakfast was great, lots of different options, but don't expect great coffee if you are spoilt for coffee at home. Fabulous restaurant next door Maria Antoinette, definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner.
We stayed at one of the corner/mountain view rooms (very spacious, worth the price, particularly floors 19 and 20). The room was very nice, well appointed, clean. The hotel restaurant is one of the best in all of Mendoza. Excellent meals, well prepared and presented, Great service. We attended the New Year's Eve Dinner, our waiter, Nicolas, was always prompt and very pleasant.
We chose the Diplomatic for the location and we are glad we did. It is a big hotel going for a very high end feel, which is usually not our style. But we were happy about the breakfast buffet, which was about average compared to the other hotels we have chosen in South America. The room is spacious, the curtains are dark and the bed is comfortable. There are so many fantastic restaurants in walking distance! It's also on the Viniviticola bus route which we found an easy way to visit several wineries.
Loved the location......loved the mattress.............adored Barbara at the front desk: she is a blessing! Martin, the concierge was a close second. Our check in experience was not positive and we got snookered into paying for a Diplomatic Sky upgrade. We should have gotten it GRATIS, The hotel has to understand that is the best possible PR imaginable!!!! Breakfast was good.......free parking a delight. Our room could definitely use better lighting at night., A schedule of cultural events in town would really be helpful. How nice to have a 5 star hotel that is NOT "stuffy". SO......think about booking here. You will be pleased you did. AND the commotion with the River Plate team staying here was a true cultural experience for us!!!!
