The hotel has a good location, in a walking distance to downtown Mendoza and the San Martin Park. The breakfast was good but it seemed that the maintainence team wasn´t very sharp. The rooms needed painting.
Good experience at the Diplomatie. Spacious room, professional service and a splendid breakfast. The bathroom was a bit run down, with a cracked sink, stains in the tub and a shower stall with a door that didn't fully close. But overall, positive experience.
Disappointing first impressions on arrival. No doorman and no visible porters were visible to help with our luggage. Check in was brusque and hardly welcoming. Our room whilst large is both tired and shabby. Bathroom is dated and is in need of re grouting and the bath is cracked and has lost its enamel. Stained toilet seat and the shower head is loose off the wall. Only 2 lifts serve the building which result in long waits. For a 5 star we would expect better quality towels, bedroom slippers and a turn down service - none of which you will get here - no water in the room and only 3 tissues in a packet which were not replaced. The WiFi reception is poor to the point of being non existent in our room on floor 14. This is by far the worst 5 star hotel we have ever stayed in - such a disappointment. On the plus side a good choice of food for breakfast. We chose this hotel based on previous reviews and thankfully we have only had 2 nights here and we will not return or recommend to others. We have stayed at far better 3* hotels. We cannot comment on the pool or gym as we did not use them. Overall the hotel has a long way to go in understanding customer experience.
This hotel is an excellent alternative when visiting Mendoza. To remark : Large rooms with mountain view in the upper levels. The personnel is attentive and the atmosphere relaxed. The location is convenient and breakfast very satisfactory.
We stayed here for two nights, and thought the hotel was excellent. Our room was very spacious, large bed, decent size bathroom, and great views out towards the mountains. Service was excellent throughout, and the location was great, less than ten minutes walk to the central square, and with several very good restaurants all around. Our one challenge would be the shower, the nozzle itself in our room was just a pipe coming out of the wall, with a cheap plastic showerhead attached, whilst getting the right water temperature was tricky. Other than that, it was a great hotel, and one we’d highly recommend.
This was my third time in this hotel and this time everything was perfect; 5 stars. Room clean and wide, toilets perfect. I used the gym room, swimminpool (plenty of sun) and spa (dry sauna), all inclusive in the room price. In gym room water, lemonjuice and fresh fruit always available. Wifi was perfect; breakfast nice as usual and if you have to set off before 06.30 am a quick self-service is always awailable in a room close the hotel hall.
The staff at the hotel is fantastic. I screwed up our reservation and they were fully booked... instead of leaving us stranded. They called over 35 hotels to try to find us a room. (HUGE Football game that night) We checked back in the next night and enjoyed a great room, views and breakfast. Great location, with amazing food around the corner!
Centrally located hotel near transport and restaurants and Carrefour supermarket is 10 minute walk. Smart lobby and helpful staff. Bedrooms larger than average for a city hotel. Ask for a room overlooking pool for a quieter stay. Large super king comfy beds. Large bathrooms. Safe and fridge. Pool is not heated but is refreshing and clean and has sunbeds around. Very extensive and varied breakfast including Bucks Fizz. Early check out available. Enjoyed our stay here.
The hotel was a standard business hotel with comfortable beds and clean and adequate facilities. The breakfast was also more than adequate with a good selection to suit all tastes. The WiFi was good and we had no complaints. Although it is not an attractive hotel it is centrally located and good enough for the price paid.
The positives were - free underground parking, a great view from our 20th floor room and service in the restaurant at lunchtime from Caroline was fantastic, even though the food was nothing special. We booked a sky room for the view and our own coffee machine. However, the nespresso machine would not work we reported it at 5pm, 7.30pm, 11pm and again at 7.30am. It was not repaired or replaced. At 7.30 am we ordered room service coffee which finally came 35 mins later as we were about to leave for breakfast anyway.
