Rydges on Swanston - Melbourne

The hotel was nice in organizing extra wishes and even getting some cream cheese for the bagels in the morning. Very weird they hadn't realized themselves that offering bagels without creamcheese does not make much sense. The breakfast buffet in general was alright, but got very boring after the third day as things never change. The hotel bar is great and the happy hour offers nice drinks for reasonable prices. In general the stuff and especially the manager were super friendly and very helpful. If one needs to be in this area, I'd definitely recommend this hotel. The location within the city is ok to reach sights, but there definitely are more conveniently located hotels.

Location is great, next to Lygon Street and trendy Brunswick street. Also close to city. Great breakfast buffet. If you can get a room overlooking the Park. Great views. Room were comfortable, neat modern and quiet.

Great hotel. Have been coming here for years now and always delivers quality service, food and accommodation. Staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great with either a short walk into the CBD or a tram stop right out front. Recently renovated rooms and rooftop make it a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. Great value. Keep up the good work!

Another excellent stay at the Rydges on Swanston. Must complement the staff on their help on my late check-in and also for retrieving my jacket which was left in the Blues Bar. Breakfast was great and the stand-alone GF toaster a very nice (and welcome) touch. With Lygon St around the corner there are plenty of options for eating or to grab a coffee and its only a short walk down Swanston to access the shopping precinct.

Spent the weekend at Rydges on Swanston just gone. Great location with tram out the door and ease reach to anything worthwhile in Melbourne. Could not fault amenities or staff - friendly relaxed and helpful. Even to a group of old dogs like us going to footy. Cheers Rydges Paul

Returned to the hotel for my annual footy trip from soak up some cafe and sporting culture! Rydges on Swanston did not disappoint. Since my last visit the rooms have been significantly upgraded. The result is as good as I'd hoped. Our group was greeted with an amazing selection of finger food, eaten in the bar and on the outside deck (thank goodness for the outdoor heaters!). We met the new manager who impressed us with his attitude. Good pick up! His staff were, without exception, friendly, attentive and personable. This makes such a huge difference to the overall experience. The breakfast spread was, again, as we'd hoped for. The 'Eggs B' with smoked salmon vice ham, was a high point! The revamped roof top area is impressive too. Perhaps I'll visit in summer one day, so I can use the pool! I for one cannot wait for my 2018 visit...but I guess I'll have to...dammit!

I've been to Rydges on Swanston a few times over the years and have always loved its location - easy stroll to Lygon st, Vic Market and Melbourne Central. During my recent trip I was really impressed with the improvements that have been made. It has a great feel to the place when you walk into the reception area and the Blues Bar is a terrific place to relax with a quite ale or very nice coffee (I needed a good one when I arrived!). The breakfast buffet was first class and my room had a terrific outlook onto the park. Probably the best aspect was the service from all of the staff - they were extremely helpful and friendly and made me feel at ease. I'll definitely be back.

Having recently stayed at Rydges on Swanson with a group of friends, I can't recommend it highly enough. Friendly staff who bent over backwards to look after all our needs and even cater for some demanding requests! They made us feel welcome from when we first stepped through the doors. Rooms were excellent and the new pool deck area on the roof spectacular! The restaurant top class, breakfasts very generous and Blues Bar a great place to unwind with friends. We hardly needed to leave the hotel! But location was brilliant, minutes from Lygon Street and downtown Melbourne, when we did. Will be back next year for our annual get together!

The room was clean with two comfortable queen beds and was large enough for two adults and one child for a five night stay. It is located a short walk away from the restaurants in Lygon St. A 777 and KFC are also nearby. The hotel is only one tram stop away from the Victoria markets, and 3-4 stops away from the CBD Reasonable parking at $25 per day (we drove from interstate) Excellent value for money

room was nice and cosy and the staff at reception was helpful with a problem i had . public transport was out side the door as well as some restaurants in walking distance. check in and out service was good and hold our luggage while in a conference was no problem.
