Pensione Hotel Melbourne

Great location, walking distance to Casino & Exhibition centre, staff were great, the rooms were nice & clean. One surprise, a single bed???

I stayed for 5 nights. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was furnished nicely, always clean with a great shower. The location is excellent. It is a short walk to the train and bus station. The City Circle Trolley pickup location is 100 feet from the front door of the hotel.

Very good service with reasonable price useful staff

The shoebox room we had was very nice and efficient. Good wifi, clean, and the refrigerator and kettle were very useful. The Southern Cross Station was only a few blocks away and that was a convenient walk to catch our bus to the airport.

Nothing bad to say about this place. Good location, friendly staff, inexpensive. You certainly won't be disappointed for the money you pay.

The Pensione is a terrific small hotel stay, I recommend it for efficiency, personable staff, location and good atmosphere.

The room was small, but it had everything I needed. I was impressed by the space efficiency. For a business overnight stay this hotel is terrific, great location, ease of check in and lovely breakfast cafe that was reasonably priced. I think this is a great value hotel and have already booked to return next week.

Small and old room. Staff was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. Small bathroom with no proper door, could see and hear everything happening inside.

I liked it. Different. This category seems to provide a modern, fresh, classy hotel room for the price of a normal deteriorated hotel room, albiet the room is only half the size of previous generation hotel rooms. There isn't anything wrong with this, as under the previous approach, floor space was wasted, now it is allocated according to actual movement requirement. I really like having a bit of class and happily sacrifice unnecessary floor acreage for that. The internal design is obviously the result of living design professionals, because it is thought out, classy and it works. It is really excellent having quality bedding and towels and a modern bathroom in centre down town for sub $100. Well done guys, this has to be a recipe for success. Location: Trams at door, Victoria train station across the road, Crown across the river; perfect.

Small but everything you need in a convenient location. Train station across street, grocery store a couple of blocks away, and and most sights within 15-20 min walk. Internet access was too highly priced. If sharing the room with someone else, there is very little privacy due to glass bathroom doors. Overall we were happy.

Like the other reviews say, the rooms here are really small. I've been to Europe, and believe me, the room I had here was even smaller than some of the hotels back there. However, if you're planning to spend most of your time exploring Melbourne, and only sleep in this room, then it's perfect. The price is great! Especially for the location -- right next to Southern Cross Station. It is extremely well connected, by train and tram. You can even take the SkyBus direct from the airport to Southern Cross and just walk to the hotel from there. This hotel has virtually no amenities, but again if you're here to explore Melbourne, then you won't need them. In summary, for the price, even though the room was small, it was worth every penny. I wouldn't recommend for families, but great for singles or couples.

Good staff, high efficiency when I required an adaptor and hair dryer. The bed was comfortable, and we had a good rest that night. Clean and neat room, really value-for-money.

Good nights in a clean and quite hotel.

although the hotel markets itself as a boutique pensione-style place, it lacks any noticeable style. it is also tiny, and the staff are rather surly. unless you're willing to sacrifice everything to location, don't bother with this place.

The location was great! The hotel staff was friendly, but didn't know the city and gave wrong directions. The cafe was only open one of the three days I was there, and the bar never did open. The maid missed my room the first day. The bathroom had poor lighting and no shower curtain. The floor didn't have a drain and sloped away from the shower. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in many years.

We do offer other rooms with double and king beds, if you're planning a return trip in the future! Thanks again Team@Pensione
