Just spent 2 nights at this hotel and found to be of excellent quality in most things they do. However, I was quite taken back when arriving for breakfast I was greeted quite normally at the restaurant, taken to a table and offered coffee or tea. As one would almost certainly have a hot beverage with breakfast I accepted and ordered a coffee, but upon checking out was charged an additional fee for that coffee. I have not experienced this before and find the additional cost rude & quite unacceptable. The food was also just average.
The hotel is nice and the room was comfy. Casino was good and the poker room was nice. Overall good luxury and convenience to move about in the city. Toilets are clean and sheets look clean and comfy.
Great location, excellent service from all the staff. My room was quite large, bed was very comfortable, pillows where prefect and the shower was very roomy Will definitely stay here next time I'm in Melbourne.
The Crown Promenade is part of a complex of several Crown hotels, all within close proximity to each other and well located. The room was lovely and so were the reception staff. This was the first hotel that we have stayed in our Australia tour where there was no complimentary water. Some others did even have a bottle of wine waiting for us. We had breakfast in the Mesh restaurant and were happy with the quality and variety of food on offer. On our final morning, as we had an early departure, we were given breakfast boxes, which were exceptionally good. Like others have commented, the wifi was a bit iffy, but reception staff did get me back online twice.
I spend three days at this wonderful hotel in the heart of Melbourne. Surrounded by Crown Casino, this place has a lot going on. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and squeaky clean. Many great locations are at a walking distance and this hotel was one of the main factors for a memorable stay at Melbourne.
The room service prawn pizza i ordered is the sort of cheap pizza I might expect from a chain pizza store, although they would normally use something other than really small canned or frozen miniature prawns
Since my first experience staying in Crown Promenade Melbourne in April 2014, I always stayed at this hotel when I visit Melbourne. Rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. If you are lucky & your room is on high floors then you get great views of the Yarra river. The hotel does try to up sell you rooms with great views. Depending upon the price they quote you, it might be worth the upgrade. I tend to use their pool, spa & sauna. They are clean, never crowded or busy. Mesh restaurant is decent for breakfast with asian breakfast varieties to choose from as well. It is very convenient for hotel guests, costs $33 for full buffet. If you do not like buffet, like to look for alternative then Mr. Hive is a great option. It is located on the crown complex so you do not have to venture far. I love hotel’s valet service. They are careful with your vehicle & prompt service. Matthew at the concierge has good local knowledge & welcoming smile. I have known him since 2014, his level of service has not degraded , still helpful & smiling. Top bloke. It is always great experience staying at Crown Promenade. I would recommend this hotel to solo, couple or family on business or vacation trip.
Great location - easy walk to the Melbourne CBD but great overall location with easy access to all the restaurants at Southbank. Rooms were well presented and spacious. Great views over the casino to the river. Gym and pool amenities were good. One of the best hotels I've stayed in, in Melbourne.
Good location, incredible front of house staff. We were given an upgraded room with a fantastic view. The outdoor area by the pool is quite small and there are not many sun loungers outside. This hotel is part of the huge Crown complex. Only negative comment - should pool deck staff really be calling guests 'darlin'?
Check in was wonderful, quick and friendly. Valet parking so very easy. Room service was great- other than a lack of butter. Room view spectacular and pool fabulous. We tried really hard to like our stay at Promenade but the room cleanliness and odor let it down. Mints left from previous client, hair in bathroom and stains on tiles near ceiling & mirror was very unnerving. TV didn’t work on arrival but maintenance fixed within 1st hour. We told cleaning staff on the floor about the room and asked for attention while we left for the evening. Arrived back at the hotel after 11pm to find nothing done. Our young son was tired by then so didn’t request a room change. Really shouldn’t have had too- the room should have been cleaned before check-in. Also a bad odor in the room. The following day we enjoyed the pool and realised the odor in the room is the same as the wet pool towels. Half our time at Promenade was fantastic but the other half was very disappointing. Back to Metropol or Crown towers for us next “stay-cation” where the attention to detail in the room we have experienced to be a lot better.
