Stayed for 3 nights and had a positive experience for the most part. The staff is extremely friendly, making sure our stay in Medellín was a pleasure. We departed at 5 am and they made sure we had coffee, juice and fruit before we left for the airport. The taxi to and from the airport was 65,000 pesos. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. The beds were a little hard but on the day we were leaving, they were replacing all the beds on the 5th floor. The hotel is a 5,000 - 6,000 pesos taxi drive to the main tourist area in Poblado. If you want a quiet nights rest, this is a good place to stay since many of the hotels closer to the tourist area are not as peaceful because many of the clubs play music well into the morning. On the two tours we took, more than one tourist complained about the noise in the evening surrounding their hotels. Enjoy your time in Medellin and definitely visit Comuna 13.
This is a nice modern hotel located near shopping centres, bard and restaurants. The reception are a I small and extends into the restaurant/ bar area. Rooms are modern with lots of space, twin double beds (comfy), table and 2 are chairs, desk and chair, larger flat screen TV, wardrobe, safety box, and mini bar. The toilet /shower was modern and had free toiletries. Breakfast was good a mix of hot and cold. All in all - a nice experience. The hotel sits on a steep hill so the walk into the shopping areas etc is easy going down but tough coming back up!
This was my first visit to Medellin and I had booked the Poblado Alejandria based on favourable reviews and an excellent rate that I found on the internet. To say it upfront...I was not disappointed. The building may be dated, but it is very well maintained and my room was modern and spotless. I had a nice view of the neighborhood. Shower had good water-pressure. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fully satisfying. I truly enjoyed my stay. But here is something important to consider. Like almost everything else in Medellin, the hotel is located on a steep hill. Looking at the maps you may be fascinated by all the shops and restaurants that are within walking distance. Well...they may be within walking distance downhill. But for the way back you will want to take a taxi unless you enjoy some serious hiking. Luckily taking a taxi is safe and easy in Medellin. All drivers use their meters. Minimum fare is 5000 Pesos...less than 2$. There are always taxis waiting outside the hotel. And going back every taxi driver I met knew the hotel Poblado Alejandria.
The rooms are ok, the restaurant is ok; breakfast is kind of a let down. I missed a proper fitness center and a pool. The staff is very helpful and nice. The location is at the top of a hill, so it's really hard to walk around.
We stayed here over night to catch the Bus next day. The staff is friendly, but couldn't get us information about Bus traveling. The rooms been more or less clean (had some hair on the fresh made bed...)
Expect a typical 3*** business hotel, with simple but clean rooms and a modest lobby. However, the staff is great and provides an excellent service. Every request we had, was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Breakfast was above average (given that it was included in the hotel price) with a good selection of fruits. The location is good and shopping malls and restaurants are on walking distance, however we ended up using taxis given that its so hilly in El Poblado. Overall this hotel was great value for money for us.
This is a hotel located in a very nice area in Medellin, people here is very kind and they try to help you in any question or doubt that you have, rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is include and it is good, good prices and good quality, the bellboy it is specially kind and helpful I think his name is Carlos.
The hotel was excellent but not really walking to anything as it was on a huge hill. however most of Medellin is like that. They were extremely accommodating , letting us print our our boarding tickets, sending food to our room. And even preparing picnic for us to take to the botanical garden. The staff was friendly and polite and had excellent recommendations for a nice dinner. would definitely stay again.
Great hotel and staff. From arrival the concierge takes care of your luggage, you are given a welcome drink. Amenities are great no pool but an awesome turkish bath. Again staff was very attentive when we asked to use the amenities. Located in a quiet area. Great breakfast. Totally worth the price. EXCELLENT HOTEL
We recently hosted a large group of friends visiting us in Medellin from the U.S. I booked this hotel for 3 of the couples because there was just not enough room for everyone in our home. So, I chose this hotel after researching various websites, including this one. So, based on various reviews, and the optimal location, I felt that this hotel would do the trick. However, I regret having made that choice today. My guests were unanimously disappointed, and actually quite upset over the poor servivpce they received. It just so happens that the hotel was going through some sort of remodeling project or some repair jobs, and they had NO hot water for showers. When our friends complained, they were simply confirmed that yes, they had been conducting some repairs for some time and hot water was a problem. We are upset that the hotel made no effort to inform potential guests of this situation on their website. The hotel purposely kept this information so as not to lose business. Their focus was on securing more roomstays rather than customer satisfaction. Additionally, reakfast was very disappointing to everyone. They were looking forward to excellent breakfasts. Instead, they got limited and unattractive choices. They had heard of the amazing fruits so abundant in Colombia, instead they got few and unimpressive selections. For the poor care my friends received, for the lack of openness and honesty shown to them with regard to the hot water issue and the unimpressive breakfast, I cannot give this hotel more than a poor mark. I will never again recommend this place to anyone.
