The hotel was clean and the staff was awesome. Treated us with great customer service and they were ready to assist us in any way possible. This was a last minute booking due to hurricane Harvey. Our experience at LQ was a wonderful one and will definitely return!
I was so skeptical about staying here because it wasn't too expensive. But when I got here everything looked so clean and new! I absolutely loved it! I would stay here again. I don't travel much because of hotels so that's saying a lot.
Christina and staff were very professional and friendly. Very clean and relaxing hotel. Very helpful within the last month while booking and changing information for this trip. Thank you for the great customer service.
We stayed in a king suite that included a sofa sleeper. I have no complaints on the room. The air conditioner worked great. The free breakfast was awesome! It may have been the best free hotel breakfast I've ever had. My daughter enjoyed the pool. My dog also stayed at the hotel and we didn't have any issues. The location of the hotel was great and close to all the places we wanted to go. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
The staff was fantastic and the hotel was well accommodated and well kept. Thanks for the coffee refills as I am an avid drinker of coffee. The morning breakfast was put together very well. Wish I knew how she fixed her beans, they were fantastic!
Super nice. I loved the color scheme. It was very relaxing and gorgeous. Staff and accomodations were perfect. Breakfast was very typical for the South Texas area visited. Fresh cookies and coffee available at all times. Pool was very nice.
We needed to make some last minute changes to our room reservations for the six of us. The front desk people were very accommodating. The next morning I needed a printout of a document. They did that for me in the hotel manager's office.
The location was perfect since we were attending a wedding at Kalos. The church was about 10 minutes away. Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was remarkable. When we came down dressed they applauded for us and told us we looked great! My daughter was a flower girl so she modeled her dress for them. So sweet to make a little girl they didn't even know feel so special. I will definitely recommend this hotel.
So, almost 4 stars but I'd say Average at best. This hotel is about 10 years old and apparently just undergone a renovation based on the shipping container in the parking lot and the old construction materials in the parking lot. Let's start with the good. As always, the LQ staff is very good and helpful. I review a lot of LQs and the good staff is a constant across the country. Maintenance is usually LQ's downfall. The room was comfortable and quiet. The shower pressure was high and it had a good shower head. Good WiFi and plenty of electrical outlets. The breakfast was above average with hot steam table foods. Large TV but no guide. Missed opportunities: Whoever selected the grey on grey color scheme should be fired. It is really dull and boring. Our bathroom door wouldn't close because it needed to be trimmed to fit in the frame. The curved shower curtain is good for residential applications but not durable enough for commercial use. This one was so loose on the wall that the shower curtain wouldn't stay closed against the walls so water did splash on the floor. There was not a toilet paper holder so the paper was on a vanity shelf. That's kind of gross. Who knows what is on a toilet paper roll but using a finger in the core is about the only way to dispense it. The pool looked inviting but the water was was too cold for us. Same with the hot tub. The door lock to get back into the building from the pool area did not work so guests had to go out the parking lot gate and get into the building through a side door. This often resulted in having an open gate to the pool area. It was often left open since it was not a self closing gate.. I see a serious potential liability here since it allows anybody from the outside to get to access the pool. The contractors who did the tile work and related trim did a terrible job on the South, 1st floor stairwell. If I were paying for it, I would have it torn out and redone. For the reasonable price, I would stay here again but there are better LQs close by. Read my review on the LQ at the McAllen Covention Center. It is a little more expensive but so much nicer. It all depends on what your expectations are.
I highly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent, you are only minutes from the business district of Mission/McAllen area with an excellent choice of dining options, yet located in a quiet area out of the hustle and bustle of the McAllen metroplex.
