Sig. Roberto and Sig. Isidro went out of their way to help me. Finding this place is difficult, and getting back to the highway is nearly impossible for one who does not speak Spanish. They arranged for me to e guided to the road, gave me breakfast and, in general made me feel like a valued customer.
We stayed on December 30th, 2013 and were very impressed by the staff, pool, and the VIEW. Without even requesting an ocean view, we were given really prime real estate. Perfect location to walk all over. Had great time exploring for our 1 night in Mazatlan!
A clean comfortable hotel, right on the beach (OK, across the street), with very helpful waitstaff. You will need a "pulmonaria" open taxi to get to the gold zone or the theater district, but they are reasonable. Critical for us, they accept pets.
not a great part of town.
you could walk to downtown or take a bus for 75 cents , which made the location just fine .directly across the road from the ocean and the views were great ,very clean and well kept , impressive restaurant, very impressed with the staff , a really good value !Should I ever return to Mazatlan I would take the same Hotel again.....if there was a surprise ....it was a positive one !
Unfriendly staff felt more like a second class hotel although it has a great location!!!
This was a clean well kept hotel. We were in a 1 bedroom suite overlooking the ocean. It had a nice pool that was only crowded 1 day when the hotel rented it out for a school party. The hotel is located in the middle of the malacon boardwalk. Was nice to be away from all the tourist shops of zona dora were we stayed last time. There were only 2 negatives...first the wireless internet wasn't working in the room and the only help the staff gave was to say bring your laptop to the lobby and use it there...second was minor for me since my kids speak spanish, but the hotel staff at the resturant, bar, pool, house cleaning, and phone operator, didn't speak english enough for me communicate what i needed. All in all it was worth it and i will be returning to this hotel in july 2010. Make sure you book at least 30 days in advance to get the good rates..oh and if you are leary about taxi drivers like i am...we found a really good guy that is always parked at the hotel waiting to take you anywhere for a fair price..his name is [...]
This hotel has a beautiful pool, lovely landscaping and clean, spacious rooms, many of which have a balcony facing the ocean. (I didn't like to location of the first room they showed me, so they cheerfully gave me another, more to my liking.) The guests include tourists, both Mexican and foreign, and local business people. The location is excellent, as you are in the middle of the bay, away from the noise of downtown and out of the craziness of the Golden Zone. It faces a nice swimming beach, right on the miles long malecón walk. This is a great hotel if you like people watching. From my balcony I enjoyed watching the local folks walk by early in the morning and during the evening hours. The hotel has several meeting and event rooms so there are often weddings, quiceañeras or other events happening there. Once a week the beach lifeguards do a morning training, then come up to the hotel to rinse off in the pool and eat in the restaurant. The restaurant food is delicious, elegantly served and very reasonable. I am very glad I stayed there.
This is a great motel. Right on the beach and downtown, we stayed in a first floor room, with our friendly dog, on the night Tropical Storm Rick roared through. The super helpful waitstaff offered to tape our windows, and kept us apprised of the storm's progress. The on-site resturant is very good, but, of course, Mazatlan is reknown for great resturants. The pool is right in front, and should be wonderful (Rick deposited too many palm fronds for us to use it). If you are traveling with a pet, do not fail to put the Aquamarina on your list.
