Stayed here with my kids and wife for 2 nights, kids club fantastic, food good chicken wings tho need to be changed and bigger for the price, Top marks to service from Mikey and Laura with blonde hair, they serve the hotel proud, we will be back.
Over priced hotel with very average food, beverages and service. Hotel in slight need of some tlc. Very hard to justify the price of €136 room only for a Friday night in October. At this price you would expect more. On a positive note the leisure center is quite nice.
After another visit to this fantastic hotel I am delighted to say that it is better than ever!Near the train station, knock Airport, the villiage of Kong, Knock Shrine, and Ballinrobe racecourse, not to mention the fantastic indoor and outdoor athletic facilities! This hotel features a 1st class leisure centre with pool and jacuzzi, all day food and separate dining room, excellent well stocked bar, with friendly efficient staff! It specialises in weddings and Big Act Entertainment, and corporate meetings! Spacious comfortable well equipped bedrooms make for an enjoyable stay!
I was a long-term guest at the McWilliam's where I received a service that went beyond any expectations I had. Staff: The staff - from the front desk to the bar staff - were professional and personable making a genuine effort to get to know me which was truly wonderful given my lengthy stay. Staying here quickly began to feel like visiting a family relative. Any out of the ordinary requests I had were met with such genuine enthusiasm to help that is rare to come across. Hotel: The hotel itself is in an excellent location just off the N17. The rooms and general areas are fitted out with modern decor and kept clean (this may seem like a simple concept but from my experience, is often neglected in other hotels). The facilities are some of the best you'll find in Ireland with a state of the art gym housing numerous machines and free weight area. The pool, accompanying jacuzzi, and steam room made coming back from a hard day work very pleasant. Rooms: The rooms themselves I found extremely comfortable and spacious with a desk to work from if needed. The wi-fi signal was perfect throughout and the bathrooms/showers were great. I would have absolutely no complaints about the rooms. Food: I ate in the bar most nights. The food quality was of a high standard and the menu gives great choice with daily and weekly specials adding to your choice. It really was difficult to want to eat anywhere else. Verdict: From someone who stayed at the McWilliams for 4/5 days a week for almost a year, I would highly advise staying here if you are visiting the area. I most certainly will be back. Pro's: Staff, quality of rooms, location and service Con's: Price of food is marginally more expensive than some other local spots Thank you again to all the staff, for everything. Travelled with Newmarket Holidays, having arrived mid-morning we were allocated our room fairly promptly which was superb. The hotel was ideally situated and enabled quick access for the coach travel as well as local walks and runs. As always, it is the people that enhance a trip and the staff did not disappoint. Everyone was welcoming and efficient however we would especially praise Kieran and little Laura who were always so helpful and cheerful. We used the pool, steam room and sauna and, once again, these were top class and the staff very attentive. Thank you to one and all for a most enjoyable stay.
Spent a week here with a coach trip. All the staff were very personal and friendly, and went the extra mile to make our visit very enjoyable. Especial thanks to Kieron and his attention to dietary needs. No faceless hotel this, and all the better for it!!
We stayed here on a Newmarket holiday tour for five nights and in all that time could not find one single fault with the hotel or the staff. The mealtimes were at times very busy with other tours but the staff still managed to laugh and all the food was piping hot. A special mention for Marie and Maria . Two staff who we in particular connected well with. Our tour guide kept us informed of any changes to times and we even had a private viewing of The Quiet Man film in one of the hotel conference suites as we had been to Cong village.
Guide Colette and driver Cathil both splendid. Our room, 204 was beautiful, quiet, clean and comfortable. The Irish breakfasts were delicious and the three course evening meals were varied and pleniful. The staff were friendly and always ready to please but a special thank you goes to Jean. She was exceptionally helpful and caring.
Having stayed at this hotel with 15 other guests on or golfing trip, not one of us had any complaints, the hotel rooms were great, very clean & comfortable, the facilities in hotel very good, the food second to none, the staff friendly, could not do enough for you, while setting up the booking Maria & Lesley were so helpful, highly recommend this hotel.
