This is the most beautiful hotel with views of croagh patrick from my bed room & from the dining room.Food is just fabulous. The only complaint I would have is the the whole hotel is very warm and the same with the bed rooms making it difficult to sleep. I still will be back
Bedrooms like luxury suites. You could get lost in the bathroom. So peaceful and relaxing you could not imagine. Everything you could need after a long driving trip to the beaten by the wind Achill Island. Would find any excuse to come back and take advantage of the spa facilities. Very friendly staff at reception. Breakfast a little bit too busy.
Really good package - 240 for 2 nights B&B, 1 dinner and 1 afternoon tea. Lovely place, staff were brilliant and no hassle with anything. Best of all was the food - genuinely some of the best food I’ve ever had. Worth it if you want to treat yourself to a night away!
We had bar food today. The chowder was hot but without any peceptible flavour and it was devoid of shrimp and smoked fish. My wife's smoked salmon begel served without either butter or mayonnaise. The fishcakes did not taste so, and the separate side order of chips was positively tiny. Kitchen service was very slow. The coffee and the staff were excellent.
I feel i have to review this hotel once again. This is my third time staying here. Often when staying at hotels, and i'm sure you will agree, the service can diminish over time, but with Knockranny that isn't the case. I booked online like usual, and booked the Penthouse suit also like usual! We arrived at the hotel on Saturday just gone. Check in was superb. Kevin was very thorough and quick at checking us in. His directions to the Penthouse suite were on point, as you know yourself, some Receptionists directions are terrible and you end up more lost than when you started. Am i right? We paid €298.00 for one night including breakfast. it seems a lot, but when you read below you will understand, it is even underpriced. i have stayed in hotels that charge you twice that and their rooms and service are appaling. On entering the Penthouse suite, there is a massive hallway with a little lamp. I mean you could reverse a car in the hallway, that is how wide it is. Take the first right, and it brings you into the master bedroom. The size of the suite on its own is just huge, there is no exaggerating. In the bedroom, there is a table to sit at to write a few notes, a massive King size bedroom that is most cosy. Along with that there is a large television with surround system sound. There is beautiful velux windows that bring in the light, and all in all the roof is bright and there is just a relaxing atmosphere once you step in. Just off the bedroom area, there is 2 comfy chairs with a little coffee table, to read a magazine of 5! Also there is wardrobes which include the iron, a lot of clothes space and lovely house coats. Heading into the bathroom which hides around the back of the bedroom, it is a massive spot. First of all you have a lovely shower area, and the toilet area, and a big sink. moving up two steps is a double jacuzzi. It is worth coming to this hotel just for the jacuzzi. the lights change colour and it is also possible to dim the overhead lights to watch the television in front of the bath. In the dining area / sitting area, there is a kitchenette area, with a nespresso machine and every utensil needed. A lovely fire area, with seats surrounding makes it beautiful to watch the third television in the suite, may i add. There is also, a computer and printer around the back for your perusal as if everything i mentioned wasn't enough. To top it off there is the most beautiful view of the surrounding area of Westport and of course Croagh Patrick. Just imagine sitting at the dining table, watching the snow on Croagh Patrick. I did. We got room service from the bar. Chicken and Lam Sausages, we were thrilled with the value for money. The service was very quick, and we got more than enough. We were not missing anything. The next morning we had breakfast, and once again the view that every guest had was spectacular. Check out was quick. Overall, this hotel is exceptional value for money, and in a beautiful area. I would highly recommend it. i feel it improves massively each time i arrive.
Stayed here on a 2 night B&B with one evening meal. Staff were very friendly and evening meal/breakfast were very nice. good selection of wines on offer and at reasonable prices too. The town is not too far a walk, although walking back later that night, its all uphill, so a quick taxi ride might suit better.
We, a couple, stayed here for two nights in February 2018. Nive warm welcome on arrival. We had afternoon tea and it was very very good, especially the cake/desserts. All staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and it was exceptional, again with very goos service. Breakfast was good aswell. We both had Spa treatments, I reserved ahead of time but my wife did not, they still managed to squeez her in as the last appointment of the day, even though they were fully booked. The pool area is lovely and kept clean. Rooms are large and ours had a great view of Croagh Patrick. You are only a 10 min walk (downhill) to centre of Westport, but it is a bit of a climb back to hotel. All in all a great stay.
Great two nights stay in Knockranny House Hotel. We booked two night B&B and 1 nights dinner for a very reasonable price considering what we received. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing and the view across Westport & the mountains was fabulous.
We have just returned from a lovely break at this hotel . We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated just outside Westport town center,it was so peaceful and quiet which was just what we were looking for. Room was lovely ,really comfortable bed. Food was excellent , ate in the bar first night, very good and for the second night we ate in the restaurant, food and service was exceptional and we thought good value for money. We had horrible weather as you would expect in February but we loved this hotel.
This was my second stay in one month we were upgraded to the presidential suite it was beautiful . The staff were very attentive , the food was wonderful and well presented and served by well trained staff. We had afternoon tea included in our package a truly lovely experience, I had a massage on the second day which was very relaxing. We can’t wait to return this will probably be our 8th time to visit
