We had the most amazing honeymoon in May 2017. We were on an all inclusive package which is the only way to do things in my opinion. The staff and resort were breathtaking, I can't wait to see what the refurbished hotel will offer. This place is a paradise for Vegans such as myself!!
This is a 5 star plus property and I went to Lux Grand Gaube in April and still have the holiday blues!! It's such an amazing place, I couldn't fault a thing! The staff, the food, the beach, the pool, sports activities, rooms, amenities, restaurants all absolutely amazing !!!! The hotel is Heaven on Earth and the staff of Lux are very much helpful, friendly and caring. They wear white dress and every day make dreams come true. The best 3 days of our lives spent here and if you want to visit a caring helpful and blissful hotel in Mauritius Lux Gran Gaube is the place. Superb experience with family from the beginning to end. Strongly recommend for family stay.
This is a really beautiful and relaxing paradise. The decor is tasteful and the scenery is amazing. People are very friendly and there is a lot to do for everyone. Be aware that you might feel a bit isolated from the outside, as the hotel is situated a bit outside everything. Be prepared to spend a bit of money on food and beverages.
We stayed here shortly before they closed for renovations - why they wanted to renovate, I'm not sure as it appeared very good already! Two things stood out really: firstly was the quality of the food and secondly, the vast array of water sports. My children spend almost the whole time either waterskiing, sailing or on paddle boards. Even though we were there at high season, there was rarely a queue. The only thing I would say, is that if you are going with children who don't eat much and if you do not drink much alcohol, the half board option is much cheaper than 'all-inclusive' even thought the food and drink is expensive. The other thing to mention is that the hotel is quite isolated so it is not possible to go and eat elsewhere...
This was a lovely hotel, the view from the room and beach was amazing, they had amazing night views of the stars and once a week they did a star gazing night, this was brilliant it was on the beach a 2 second walk from the bar, we saw the rings of Saturn and other amazing things, and the man doing the demonstration was excellent. The food here was excellent too, you will not be disappointed. There was also outdoor cinema nights with popcorn and blankets if required. everyday they did find the bottle around the resort which you can win free massages and dinner on the beach. this is a nice touch we thought.
Beautiful hotel with beautiful people running it. Service was excellent and every guest is made to feel very special. Good was varied and lots of it. Each night there was a special dish to be had. Definitely go again but make sure you go all inclusive as a bit expensive otherwise. The cocktails are to die for.
I won't go on at length as many other people have covered the many reasons why this is such an amazing place to stay. The thing that will stick me with me is how the staff manage to make you feel special, even though they are dealing with 100s of guests, every day of the year! The send off when we left made us feel like long lost friends! That attitude, and the wonderfully friendly nature of the staff, is very difficult to fake - especially when dealing with so many guests all the time. What that tells me - and this shines through - is that all the staff (including management) take incredible pride in the service they provide. There are lots of special touches, and the Lux brand certainly lived up to its name. Of course it's not cheap, it's a 5* resort in Mauritius. Some people have been moaning about the drinks prices, which are expensive but no more so than what you'd get in a London bar. We had B&B, which worked well for us as my wife doesn't drink and we had lunch elsewhere some days. I hear the hotel is now undergoing an extensive refurbishment - no doubt it will be even better!
My husband and I were return guests and visited again for 3 weeks in May to celebrate my 70th birthday. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left they couldn't do enough for us. The staff are amazing and the hotel is beautiful. We stayed in a junior suite with a wonderful view of the ocean. We were delighted with all the restaurants, the Banyan was very cooling under the trees at lunchtime as the weather was very hot also The Beach as the breeze flowed gently in from the sea with great views of the sea plane coming in to land. I did the seaplane trip on my birthday, what an experience! The ambience of the restaurants in the evening was very relaxing. We also experienced Cinema Paradiiso the cinema under the stars which was great. The watersports were good and we used this facility every day. We had several visits to the spa for massages - so relaxing. We would like to thank all the staff once again for an amazing holiday but to mention a few, Diren, Ramsammy, Nadege and Sweety in The Kitchen, Jean-Phillipe and staff in The Beach, Nikesh inThe Abalone, Reedo, Kumar and Naiken who looked after us so well when relaxing on the beach, Roshni always had a smile when we went for an ice cream and our evening room maid Vanessa, who we also had last year, an extremely pleasant lady who made us some fantastic flower and towel displays every night and thanks to my pilot on the seaplane Ziad for making me feel so relaxed also thank you Elena for arranging our trips. We wish you the best of luck with your renovations and can't wait to return to your little paradise.
Went to Mauritius alone to celebrate my 31st birthday. I had the best experience at the hotel! The staff and management went out of their way to make my birthday dinner a special and memorable one. Top class service and the hotel was very clean👌🏾
We have been to some beautiful places and hotels but this one beats the lot. Right from arriving at the hotel we have never felt so welcome as we did here. The staff bend over backwards to keep you happy and looked after. The food was absolutely great whether it was in the Italian, Asian or the buffet. Must mention Reevoo the beach manager couldn't do enough for you, cleaning your sunglasses, remaking your sun lounger while you were swimming. Also the four girls who kept us laughing all the time (sorry I can't remember their names). I would recommend anybody to go there it was such a great holiday. Hopefully will return one day.
